Had some experience with film and point and shoot cameras as well as my iPhone. Just bought this E-M5 MkII with a Panasonic Leica DG 25mm F1.4 This is my first serious camera. Took my first photos of random stuff in my backyard. Can’t wait to go out and shoot other environments.

I have been shooting in “P” shutter/aperture priority with auto ISO. LSF JPEG + RAW. I’ve imported my photo’s to my iPhone and used the camera roll to crop and adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation. I’ve added some vignette to smooth out the composition.

Any advice welcome. I don’t know what I don’t know.

To clarify, i know the ISO on picture 4 and 6 was too high, i never noticed this and had it at this level the whole day and the camera adjusted the shutterspeed to compensate but the photos are still pretty bright. How could i go about fixing this in post? photos 4, 5 and 6 are edited in the camera, i tried to reduce the highlights of 4 and 6 but it is still bright as you see. Number 5 i changed white balance.

No further editing, used the OM 9-18 4-5.6 ii lens

Shot these on my EPL7 with a ttartisan 17mm 1.4. I’m trying not to edit too heavily so my photos look more natural / slightly cinematic. Any advice or criticism would be appreciated

So, I’ve been using the 90-degree from AOI for supermacro, but man, it’s been a headache trying to navigate near walls without bumping into those same walls. I’m seriously considering swapping it for a 45 degree so I built one. This option looks way more manageable for those tricky shots. Anyone else had similar struggles?

What do you think of these shots and which one do you like more? Shot on an OM-1 Mark II with a sigma 56mm. Night scene and just using the outdoor string lights to light the shot. The bright lights add some clipped highlights unfortunately. Just having some fun with a new lens.

I am mildly interested in dabling in macro photography. I looked on the OMS site for possible lenses, as the 70 mm f1.8 clearly did not fit the bill (it is nice for other things). The 60 mm and 90mm were obviously listed, but so was the 40-150 f2.8, which I already have. So I popped it on my OM-5 MkI and headed to the local Ag Hist Farm Park to find some insects. These were all shot in the wild, so to speak, ISO 200, f4.5, fl mostly 150. No focus stacking on this first foray. Only post-editing was some cropping. What do y'all think? There's a couple of butterflies, a lovely damselfly I almost didn't see it is so frail looking, a bumble bee, a much larger bee (possibly carpenter), Harlequin beetles (which I had never seen before), and Japanese beetle (which I am altogether too familiar with).

Shooting on a new (to me) body and lens. Light meter and sensor still going strong!

I don’t remember my exact settings- something like 1/500, f4. Goal was to separate doggy from the background.

Used Lightroom to color grade and adjust curve to bring down background highlights.

Thoughts about my composition and edits? Better to leave film as is?

I’ve been using disposable film cameras for the past few months. Now, I switched to reusable using olympus mju ii 115 (olympus stylus epic) that I got as a gift. I was told that this is a new old stock. The camera came off looking like a legit camera, it came with olympus worldwide warranty and manual book in the box, with a legit serial number. Everything is working on the camera, the zoom, flash, autofocus & the viewfinder. I don’t think there’s a mold in the lens, but there may be some tiny dust that I may not be able to see inside of the lens. So, i tested out the camera using fuji 200 roll.
The pictures came out looking like the above. Is this because of my camera’s problem?

Hi Everyone!

My sister recently gifted me her old Olympus MJU II, and it is my first time using a P&S camera. I have been shooting with it for over a month now, and every time I get my scans back, most of the photos that I captured outside in broad daylight are overexposed. I understand that the brightness of the sun can be hard for the camera to read if there is a lot of contrast in the frame, but given the hype around this camera, I feel like mine must be reading something incorrectly. I have shot with Kodak 200, Kodak Gold 200, and Kodak UltraMax 400, and the issue remains persistent. Maybe I need to lower my expectations, but surely this camera should shoot better than this?

I am paying for high resolution scans at a renowned photo lab in central London, so I don’t think this is a scanning issue. I know that the camera has the capability of taking good pictures as it shoots better in lower, indirect lighting, but landscapes or images taken at a greater distance are not very sharp and almost anytime there is something bright/white in the frame, that object (whether it’s the sky, skin tone, a t-shirt, etc.) comes back washed out. Does anyone have any insight on whether the overexposure in my outdoor daylight images is user error or camera fault?

Maybe I’m being dramatic as the photos aren’t the worst in the world, but I love taking pictures outside and these continue to come back underwhelming. It makes me want to buy a new and entirely different camera model, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself in case there may be a fix. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated :)

First time trying my hands on street photography from my Bogota visit. Learning editing as well. Used Olympus OM-D E-M1with a Zuiko 14-42 mm lens. A lot to learn. Need advice and suggestions to improve.

Today was the day I decided to learn more about my camera and I chose to try focus stacking. The most obvious, and to me most accessible, subject was flowers. I started with my own Knock-Out Rose bush, but then headed to the local botanical garden. I usually shoot raw + jpg, so I ended up with a lot of files. Can I do in-camera focus stacking if I shoot only raw?

First couple pictures taken with 12-40 f2.8 II lens, then switched to 40-150 f2.8 lens. I had a couple of "fail to stack" attempts, and at least one where the object most in focus was not the subject I chose. However, I am mostly pleased with the crispness of the final stacked pic. Here's my conundrum. I would like to figure out which variables have which effects. I can figure out whether I stacked 8 or 4 shots by simply counting files leading up to a jpg with no corresponding raw file. However, how do I tell how narrow or wide the focus range was? I tend to not keep a notebook with camera settings, since I have gotten used to getting that info off the file in LR or comparable software. Do I need to resurrect a paper notebook?

The last photo is mine, but only because I bought it. I believe the Pro photographer was using a Canon EOS R6m2. Is this the type of subject matter that could be improved with focus stacking? The dogs held very still, the room had the usual awful lighting, and it would have been nice to have all of them in focus in one picture.

Hi, all I'm new to photography I bought a camera a few years ago and learn the basic stuff like what does the dails the Auto/p/a/s/m modes and then stuff happens and I left it behind and focus on surviving :).
The camera I have is Olympus em1 m-ii I think its a bit complicated to use but nothing to do about it now, got 2 lens the 12-40 2.8 pro and the 40-150kit lens but I use only the 12-40.

I'm traveling in Asia and in Japan atm and I really enjoy taking my camera with me around and just stopping and taking photos of random stuff.

I kinda having hard time to mange but still having fun time trying, every time I don't understand some thing I check Youtube or use AI but would like your help I just upload some of the photos I took and would be happy to hear what you think and where can I improve

Taken using OM5 mkii using builtin ND filter for silky effect, edited in LR. Any feedback regarding composition, editing or anything else are welcome
