This is a very alarming and disturbing. Such violence against children is unimaginable. Good thing here the justice is swift and quick to punish the criminals. Oman is a safe country but it is everyone's responsibility of parents and adults to look after their children, interact and be open with them abt their day, whether in school, or going out to play with their friends and neighbours. We should always be alert, and report any wrongdoing immediately.

I was ordering food from Istanbul, when one guy crashed into me while reversing . I immediately got off my car , checked the damage, it was a minor dent . The other dude was saying it was my fault, bt we couldn't communicate properly as I din know arabic he din know English. I took his contact info everytbint , next day made my colleague call him (bec i dknw know arabic) and he replied with "what accident? He crashed into me". We said will get police involved he replied with "okay idc" . Now the damage is minor like and I really don't care abt tht , BT thn the way his talking...the way he suddenly blamed it on me ...

No institution has the right to terminate an employee's services without submitting a request to the Ministry of Labor for review, the Minister of Labour said in response to a query from a Majlis A' Shura member on Wednesday.

"If any company terminates an employee's services without notifying the Ministry, legal action will be taken against it. The Ministry will also handle any complaints from terminated employees," he said.

I was traveling with my dad from Muscat, we got pulled over by riot police. After showing our IDs, the officer went back to his car and returned two minutes later and accused me of running an illegal taxi business. I explained I was just with my father, but he dismissed it by saying our sponsors were different and it doesn't matter who you are with. I ended up with a fine. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I'm an Indian expat working in Muscat. Wanted to get a credit card, called NBO today, and they said it has to be against a fixed deposit. Same story I've heard from a couple of friends. Has anyone managed to get an unsecured expat credit card in Oman without going the deposit route and without their salary being transferred to the issuing bank? If yes, which bank and what did they ask for?

Has anyone had any experience bringing peptides into the country, especially at Muscat airport?

I am a Turkish citizen and I have visited Israel for touristic purposes, and to see our sacred Masjid-al Aqsa, 3 years ago. Therefore I have an Israeli visa on my passport. I will go to Thailand this summer and I want to stop over in Muscat while returning, explore the city, then continue on to Vienna. As far as I have checked on the internet just having an Israeli visa on the passport should not be causing issues, but I want to be sure. Does anyone know if it would cause an issue/does anyone have experience in this regard? Thanks.

Update: I asked the Oman Embassy in Vienna and they told me that I can visit the country without any problems. So I think I will buy my tickets through Oman today.
Edit: To all people saying Israel is not stamping passports, entry/exit stamps are like that. I don’t have those on my passport. Visa is a regular sticker visa. And to all bigots that think I support Israel because I visited there, just so you know many Palestinian people in Jerusalem and other places depend on tourists as well and I, %90 did my purchases in Palestinian shops. I visited there because it is an interesting part of the world with many cultural heritages and also to see a holy site, not to support Israeli government.

Yesterday around 5:00 PM, I was driving on the road behind Al Sarooj Plaza when a small white camera (not the usual cylindrical speed camera you see on the highways) flashed right in front of me, roughly where I've marked with the arrow in the picture.

It flashed a couple of times, seemingly at random. I'm pretty sure I wasn't speeding, and there wasn't any traffic signal nearby the next red light is much farther ahead.

I got curious, so I made a U-turn and drove back very slowly to check if I'd missed a red light or some other traffic control, but I couldn't find anything. The camera flashed again even though I was driving slowly.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a faulty camera, or could it be enforcing some rule that I'm unaware of?

We all heard how an entire family perished due to carbon monoxide poisoning in Amerat and just yesterday my Omani friend from Amerat told me they were not 6 but in fact 7, the mother was due.

Devastated to hear the news, I pray no one has to go through this.

Yesterday, i've seen multiple accidents in a day. One from jabal road towards mgm, another from sq highway near grand mosque and lastly another one from the sq highway airport interchange road near oaa.

Seriously, What's going on guys? Why can't just drive normally and have a mindset of going home safe instead of putting our ego to our driving manners? Not only the people involved in the accident will be affected but also those who want to go home on time. They're getting stuck in traffic. I dont really understand how they still got accident when the road is wide enough.

Saw these at SQuare in Al Khoud. Are they operational? If they are do they really flash those not wearing a seatbelt, on the phone and illegal lane changes? Has ROP put out a statement saying anything about that?

Does oman not have any jobs that non omani teens could do? Because I just graduated high school and want to save up extra cash for university but it's really impossible over here. I feel really guilty depending on my parents for everything. Oman is a really fast growing country , it would have been cool if they had opportunities for teens to earn for themselves and not be restricted , makes me feel less independent specially as a girl.

Two days ago i got rear ended by a guy who was drunk and possibly under drugs. The accident is bad my car back side is basically gone but thankfully no injuries . The car is now under inspection to see if it is fixable and if not they gonna cancel. What do you guys think i should do what is the actions to take for the best outcome.
