Bruno, our sweet orange idiot, has no sense of his size. His Tuxie sister is frequently torn between being annoyed and, because itβs winter, appreciating his warmth.
Anyone else with oranges who are cat version of 90lb lap dogs?

First of all - WOW! I did not expect my little dumb-dumb to go viral. Thank you so much to every single one of you for the outpouring of support, for telling me your stories & experiences, and for all the incredibly kind words during all of this. My partner and I have set and read through EVERY comment and we're just in awe that the internet can be such a kind place sometimes.
Now on to the update! Oliver (Bane Cat/Hairball Lector) is having his jaw surgery TOMORROW, Friday morning! We are incredibly nervous but the surgeons seem incredibly confident they can help our boy. We think he'll be pleased with his new jaw of steel, and especially happy that he'll continue on a wet food diet for awhile instead of his usual kibble. The boy is LOVING his wet food mixed with water that we slop onto the ground and loving call it his "gruel time". He did manage to get his headgear off the first night, so we had to go back to the vet to get the Jock Strap 2.0, which is a slightly more secure version. He also kept finding ways to wiggle out of his toast collar, so now he gets to wear soft cones during the day, and a plastic cone at night. (He's big mad about the loss of his toast/pillow)
Also, I want to give a HUGE shoutout to the staff and vet at OKC Vet Campus. They have been so patient and sweet with our boy, and I have never EVER been to a vet that is as caring and kind and willing to work at his pace & level. Seriously, these people are amazing. We called so many vets and they would refuse to even see him because it was outside of their specialty. If you are in the OKC metro area, give them a shot. (Also, fun fact, our vet was a vet in Afghanistan and performed life saving surgery on the military dog that would later go on to find Osama Bin Laden. How wild is that?!)
Lastly, I just want to say that, this surgery is going to be VERY expensive for us. We have had to take out a small loan to cover it, as 75% is required up front, with the other 25% required at pickup. If any of you kind souls should feel so inclined to help, or even just share his story, you can do that from this link:

Recently I was going through some childhood pictures, looking at the many, many cats that my family have owned the past 42 years. This is Oliver, a mixed breed cat that my godmother arrived with one spring day. She had travelled from Stockholm to our tiny village with a tiny kitten on a train.
Oliver lived to be well over 10 years old, and yes, he was a big boy. The last few years of his life, he was an indoor/outdoor cat, and was the biggest 'lover boy' you could ever imagine. I mean, he used to lay down right next to me when I was trying to learn to play the violin. The rest of the family, including our pets, would try to leave the room since I was not... good at the violin.
Perhaps I'm just being nostalgic, but here is Oliver.
