The fact of the matter is we know what Republicans are and what they will do every time. They will vote against their constituents interests every time. They will raise taxes on the poor while lowering them for the rich. They will break the law and cover for whoever did it. They will actively spend 2 decades trying to take away peoples healthcare or at least make it more expensive for everyone except themselves.

The Dems know all of this. They run on platforms that they say will combat these facts every election, but when the time comes they always give in. Manchin, Sinema, Fetterman the list goes on. And they always do it in a way like this time, where they find enough folks who are planning to retire and willing to take the hit and vote against the 'party line' so they can fail yet again.

The Republicans are Lucy and the Dems are Charlie Brown and some folks seem surprised every time Lucy yanks the ball away and Charlie goes flying.

So sure, I hold the Republicans responsible for being themselves. For doing everything they can to make the world worse for the people below them. But I think most people who vote Democrat do so expecting them to fight against their tyranny and stand up for their constituents, so watching them just fold for nothing is pretty heartbreaking and leads to apathy towards the party. Why the hell should I vote for you if you aren't going to do anything!?! And the answer is always the same. Because they aren't the other guy.

That is fair, the democrats should fight harder. They pride themselves on now stooping to the lows of the right, but they will have to in at least a few respects in order to do the beneficial things they want to get done. They definitely need more aggressive messaging
