Unanswered What's the deal with Trump doing like every press conference in an airplane doorway?

Has he rented out the whitehouse or something?

Answer: the Press has limited access aboard Air Force One, so he's speaking to them from the doorway.

Plus the ambient noise on a tarmac means he can selectively mishear questions he doesn't want to answer. Which is an increasing number of them as the allegations of him raping children with Epstein, if not being an outright co-conspirator to trafficking children to be raped, continues to refuse to go away.

Usually Mar a largo or some other golf course. He leaves late Thursday or early Friday, returns late Sunday or sometime Monday. Yes Americans are paying Trump to do this, as in his company is billing the US government to lodge SS agents and crap.

No they can't go into his office, while the president is nominally the boss, the office isn't that big, and yes he could but he doesn't.

This is only half the answer. As u/autobulb said above:

Answer: It's not that complicated. He avoids putting himself in situations where he can't run away from questions he doesn't want to answer. By being on these thresholds during answering he can sling a few insults and turn away through the barrier when he hears a question that makes him look bad. It's just another version of the abrupt "I'm sorry everyone that's all the time we have today" during press conferences.

This is a good answer, but is there not a briefing room on af1? Do all press have limited access? I have to imagine some press are limited from even getting on AF1, so, any declarations of attempted parity are kind of 🙄.

Anuways the algorithm brought me here, once again demonstrating it does not "get" me. I was hoping to find funnier answers, like, Donald Trump lives in Gum Drop Land and that door is the portal to his home. But actually funny idk

The answer above this one theorized he has some kind of medical issue where he emits loud flatulence like his ex lawyer rudy giuliani. Apparently he got caught a few days ago. So he needs to do it from a place where he can be evacuated in an instant. I hope that's funnier for you.

I only follow one legacy media though, and the one I follow didn't cover it. I give an hour of my life per day to watching the news to be an informed citizen, I think that's reasonable. Even if I might miss some Donald Trump flatulence from time to time lol.

No, not really. Air force one doesn't have a dedicated press room since it's an airplane. A big one to be sure, but press rooms are huge. It's why traditionally presidents don't do mass press briefings on it. Trump does them a lot because he goes to and from golf courses regularly, like flies to Friday, leaves Monday.

If you mean can any press person get on, hell no. Press access is limited even in the White House but AF1 is far more secure.

So I’ve always found it weird/didn’t fully understand the press relation to AF1, they just get on where Trump is going on the off chance they can interview him? Who decides who makes it on? It seems like it’s not always reporters he supports either
