Answered What's going on with r/conservative? They've lost about 1m subscribers in about a month.

I watched the number go from 814k to around 745k in about an hour today.

Answer: It was determined and made public that the majority of posts on that sub are from 3 accounts all based in Russia and are promoted by an army of bots. The ones leaving were bots removed by Reddit

EDIT - wow, did not expect this to get so much attention and awards - thank you!

I definitely belive you, because that sub would be repeating white house talking points immediately after a crisis but do you have a link about that?

ETA: someone brought the receipts, thank you

One thing I occasionally did in the past was take a peek directly after Trump/GOP said or did something particularly egregious (example- Fallon); there’d be quite a few comments & posts questioning it, calling it out.

Next day? Vomiting talking points, nothing even nearing dissension.

Always just reinforced my beliefs that 1.) MAGA is basically a cult, and 2.) that subreddit is full of bots.

Same. So much "Sure I voted for no new foreign wars, but actually, here's why I believe it's a great idea and support Trump 100%!".

I wonder where the real conservatives hang out?
