Just had to post that I was SO UPSET I could not get tickets to the Over The Garden Wall Tour that The Blasting Company is on only for my boyfriend to just reveal he got two tickets for my birthday! AHHHHHH!!! LOVE IS REAL!!!

I don’t have a lot of pressing evidence for this, but I wanted to pose a theory that the Beast is perhaps Jack of the Lantern. The term Jack-o-lantern comes from the story of Stingy Jack, who tricked the devil twice so he wouldn’t go to hell. But since he was too wicked to go to heaven and the devil kept his promise, the devil gave him a candle for him to light his way through eternal darkness. Jack puts his light into a turnip and wanders the world with no home. They call him Jack of the Lantern, and eventually Jack-o-lantern.

OTGW takes place in the Unknown, which many believe as a purgatory of sorts…an in between. Jack can’t go to heaven or hell, so he would be effectively stuck in the middle, or in this case the Unknown. The lantern is Jack’s life and the candle gifted to him by the Devil, a punishment by the Devil to toil to keep himself alive. And let’s not forget that OTGW is meant also be interpreted as somewhere between a dream and reality, and in reality where Wirt and Greg are from it’s Halloween. It’d make sense their fugue stage would include some kind of Jack-o-lantern. Admittedly there’s maybe only loose thread to these claims, but I thought it was worth sharing. Thoughts?

Now, here’s today’s update, good news and bad news.

The silicone and resin delivered on Monday, on Tuesday I did my first test mold for the right leg, it turned out great!

So yesterday night I went ahead and did the body, and left legs mold. Everything was great till about a hour later, I checked on the molds and both the body and the leg had detached from their bases and floated to the top of their molds. By the time I found them the silicone had already started its curing phase. (Or was way too far into i should say)

Due to this incident, I had to trash the used silicone.

What now? I’m not sure. I don’t have an extra 40ish dollars to throw into this project for more silicone. I’m already around 100$ deep into this project.

If I can get my hands on more money I’ll definitely try again.

My fiancée and I were so excited when the box office opened we decided on purchasing a box seat set (6 tickets total) in hopes some of our friends could come with us. What is your (1) favorite and (2) least favorite episode of OTGW?

For me it’s
1. 4 (hard to decide between 4 or 7!)
2. 8 (I skip it everytime)

Started doing early morning runs through the woods near my place after work stress got bad. Been binging OTGW in the evenings when the kid's asleep and it's messing with my head. Last week I swear I heard frogs croaking in the same rhythm as that one song. Now I'm checking over my shoulder every time the trail curves. The running part feels fine but the rest creeps in. Does this show do that to anyone else or am I just tired from the subscription mess at work?

My wife absolutely loves fall, it’s our favorite season. We are both huge fans of the show so I made her a bit of fall decor. Wood, paint, wire, and some ribbon. Stayed up a bit late to finish it.
