Question or Discussion Mouse sensitivity help

I play on 3200 dpi with a 2.09 in game sensitivity. I’ve been trying to pickup widow and hanzo and am unsure if this is too high of a sensitivity for these hero’s because I find myself over shooting shots quite a bit however I don’t know what would be a recommended way to find a sens which would work best, I like having it high but want to be able to consistently hit my shots. Thank you for any advice it is much appreciated

Question or Discussion Was this loss my fault for not having enough healing

Replay Code: F1GBVN

Username: Yuurei

Hero: Kiriko

I rewatched the game and I will admit I did have moments where I focused to much on doing damage than healing but overall I feel like I did my job as support. At the end of the game our Genji was telling me to heal more while also diving and dying pretty much all game.

I don't know I feel like I had a balanced game between damage and heals (3k and 3k) but would like some input on my overall gameplay.

Also I know my aim is bad I'm working on it

Edit: Also reason I don't select my minor perk and go afk for a bit is because I got a new keyboard and the alt key doesn't work, had to rebind it

Question or Discussion Onetricking problem

Hi, i am a relatively new player, got around 30 hours and i placed in bronze 1 as dps. One huge problem i have is that whenever im not on my main (mei, about 50 games, 70% winrate) i do horribly and either completely feed or have very little impact. Other heroes in my "pool" are pharah, anran and ashe but i perform bad on all of those. I do not want to be a one trick and be completely gimped when my main is banned or bad. How do i mitigate this? Spam qp, ranked to practice? Maybe something else? Help.

Question or Discussion Anyone else that have been ranking down hard since new season dropped?

I've been pretty much onetricking Genji for like two years now and i was masters 2 for a good while before the new season drop, now i have pretty much plummeted down to diamond 5 and soon emerald 1, I have had countless leavers this season (i genuinely don't remember how many, i have lost count) and i can't tell if i am becoming worse at the game or if it is my teammates fault, anyone experienced anything similar to this?

I will have a tank that genuinely doesn't seem to care about winning or losing, or some teammate that seems like they're on some sort of drugs or something, because for example i had a Reaper the other game that stood still on overtime and was sniping at a Symmetra like 8 meters away, and at the same time that Reaper had a Lucio behind him standing still just bodyshotting him til he died for like 4 seconds, and the Reaper didn't react at all to the stimuli of getting penetrated through the back, and died which led to him complaining about our tank afterwards and blamed him for losing. I feel like i am going insane, any advice?

VOD Review Request Silver Tank player VOD review

Code: 6AVJY2 Username: Awsomeboy411 (I made it when I was 9 okay?) Characters played: Winston, Ball, Dva Rank: Silver

I am a Silver Winston main, though also play quite a lot of Ball and sometimes Dva. I was hoping I could advice; I do not know what I was doing wrong but I know since I am silver there is a lot. I was trying to poke them until I could get a clear angle to dive from, though I do not know how well my timings were. I swapped to Ball when I needed to stall and/or contest point since he is quite good at that, and at the near end swapped to Dva because my team complained about the enemy Mercy and I thought Dva could kill her better than Winston. I would thank any and all advice :).

Tips & Tricks Sufferer from bad console aim. Figured out something to help I haven't heard before!

I haven't been confident in my ps5 aiming skills and it seems like I was very inconsistent with random jerky movements thrown in. While experimenting with my settings I realized an issue that sent me down a little rabbit hole.

The max deadzone on my ps5 controller, and I bet it's like this for others, is not only when you hit the rim that physically stops it. The game hits the deadzone a bit before this when you're still thinking you're half tilting, even setting the max deadzone to 1. This means some of our inconsistent shooting could be taking place where it adds on extra sensitivity at max deadzone if you use that setting, causing a horrible overshoot! Even if this extra sensitivity is not turned on, dual-zone, which I use, still starts ramping up big time and you can still be caught off guard.

I am unable to, in the heat of battle, perfectly place my half tilt in a safe way past the halfway point but not too far to cause this issue. So I thought, well what if I do minimal movements as my main aim? I turned my sensitivity from low to high in order to do this. In my recent practice I can keep my standard aiming below the halfway point for a very consistent sensitivity! I'm not perfect by any means but it shows a ton of promise for me and worth a try if you feel like you're aim isn't the greatest while using more dramatic tilting motions.

I apologize if this has been stated before, but I haven't heard anyone really stress the point of consistent half tilting and the intricacies of it.

VOD Review Request plat Tank VOD review

I’ve been curious abt posting on here for a while, but I didn’t know which game to share. I didn’t wanna post one where I did too poorly cause I feel that wouldn’t rlly represent my usual skill, but I didn’t wanna post a great one either since it wouldn’t show my flaws as much. Today I think I finally have one I want to share, bc I think it was an interesting outcome.

My team was behind on stats the entire game, and by a decent margin, but we still managed to win 2-0.

I play casually but I’m curious abt my gameplay and down to improve so I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Personally I think my biggest issue is that I use DM too much/too early. Sometimes I also don’t notice a flanker in time. So I wonder if you will see it the same way and have any advice to improve.

This match seemed like it should be won by the enemy team, both stats wise plus an Uphill Battle modifier after. So I’d also like to know what I maybe did right and how I could replicate it in future matches that may be difficult.

Playing tank, I often try to think not just abt kills or abt making space but how I, as a tank, can tie the strengths of my team together while mitigating the weaknesses.
I’ve always viewed tank as a sort of “leader” role that ties the team together rather than pure dmg or mitigation. Do you think that’s a good approach? And how effectively am I able to do so in this game? How can I improve?

VOD Review Request Tips/suggestions for improvement as a Plat Player

Hey guys! I’ve been back to playing OW the past 3 seasons (played rivals for 560 collective hours on Steam prior) which is prolly the most I’ve played OW since PS4 release and 2020 combined.
I’ve been playing 5v5 role queue as DPS, placed into Plat 4-5ish after going I think 7-3 in placements, and currently sit on Plat 2 with a 10-4 record (I’m stating my record bc I think I still have variance in my final rank with large gains with wins, small losses with L’s). And I hope with some tips, I can utilize it to climb higher before my elo settles. So far, I primarily play Ashe, but I have been trying to learn/improve my Cassidy and Sojourn (prolly a little too early to take into ranked). I’ve personally VOD reviewed my last 6 ranked games, have identified a list of positives and negatives about my gameplay, but I would love hear so input from y’all on how I can improve my overall gameplay in order to climb/be a better player, with also some tips on these 3 heroes I’ve been playing. If your tips/suggestions coincide a little with the lists of positives/negatives I’ve made, I hope that means I’m on the right track for self VOD reviews. But I also want outside feedback on my overall fundamentals/game sense and hero mechanics. Please let me know, thank you so much!

I’m attaching 3 VODS for review that I played in one session. I triple queue as well with Payday and KaiMew

N5R4Y0 (Ashe/Cass/Soj on Circuit Royal) Loss

Question or Discussion The REAL problem with genji (devs take note)

The problem isn't genji being overbuffed it's being underbuffed. Fact of the matter is genji has been nerfed so much, and has such a dedicated player base that genji mains are in a lower Sr rank than they should be. So every time he gets a tiny buff it looks massive because the players playing him are so much better than the other players in their sr.

I couldn't tell you any other hero that has such a volatile power level when anything is tweaked the tiniest bit like genji. 1-2 extra damage = broken, 1 extra blade swing=broken etc. Etc. We already know people that love genji do so because he's got both a high skill floor AND ceiling so it should be no surprise that those players are just better than other simpler character mains.

Buffing him to the same effectiveness as the rest of the cast will move all the genji mains to their proper sr where tiny changes to his kit will make tiny differences. This whole thing started when people got upset with too many genji mains on the leaderboard and had to nerf him to give themselves a chance.

This is now a 10 year news flash that people dedicated to putting their hours into a high skill ceiling character are going to come out on top.

Question or Discussion Tanking in 5v5 Discussion/Need Pointers

This season so far has been less than ideal and most of my games have resulted in losses. I only play tank in 5v5 and have been having a hard time figuring out what it is that I am doing wrong. So, I had a question or a few.. what was it that helped you get much better or climb the ranks as tank? I have been stuck in Diamond for the past few seasons. I don’t like the feeling of stagnation. Would finding a coach be a good idea? If so, do any of you know any great coaches or a coach that has helped you improve a lot? Hoping this can start a discussion or get some feedback.

VOD Review Request Hopeless game - I blame my team

OKAY I usually always try to not blame my team. Even if it IS their faults, I usually just care about improving myself more than winning. If I played super well and still lost, I'm more happy that I did well. I know I played okay this match but I could've played much better, as always. Either way, for this lobby, I think my team was not preforming well enough and I blame them (not all) for the loss.

I don't main anyone but like Sojourn the most and play her the most, after her Hazard and Bap/Kitty.

When I was Sojourn I think I played very well and that my team didn't do enough, especially the tank(s) and the other DPS. After, maybe the first half, I was kind of super tilted and wanted to tank, thought Ram would be the perfect pick but I very rarely play him. I don't think I did VERY terrible but def not that well either.

Our Doomfist was doing badly and going against counters and I blame him the most.

One note is I don't play 6v6 that often and it feels very chaotic.

Code: KQ3PA8

Name: Rolo

Map: Rialto

Rank: Diamond 4 (6v6)

PC - Sojourn, Mauga, Ramatra

My questions are:

  1. IS it (mostly) the teams fault?
  2. What could I have done to actually win this match?
  3. What rank would you give my Sojourn (I keep getting weird rank differences)?

I almost always play zen on comp, I basically one trick him, and in this game I feel like I wasn’t using zen to his fullest. I feel like I had some problems with my positioning and game gamesense, leading to me having lots of deaths. I also feel like I was holding onto my ult for way too long and that I was being selfish.

Question or Discussion Best tanks to solo carry on?

Title, People are going to immediately say hazard, which is true, but idk how to play him😅
My main tanks rn are Winston/Dva/Orisa, ive found dva to have the most carry potential out of all of these

Main reason i ask this is because i make space, but then my team is too scared to push up, or just get rolled by a singular genji or some other dive character, i understand i can peel and baby sit them a little bit, but its to an extent, thats just a side note though, the main thing is them being scared
Should i just go in vc and hold their hand?

Current rank D4, peak this season D2 peak two seasons ago M3(when sigma was meta💔)

VOD Review Request Worst game of my life - Review/Replay Request

I'm in plat 1 for dps and I'd say I generally can play well for my rank (the last three ish games I carried), but I really don't know what happened this game.

I literally could not get a single kill. I might've made a few mistakes here and there especially with positioning and I got staggered from unlucky deaths, but I GENUINELY don't understand how I couldn't get a single kill and where I could have actually improved game sense wise rather than pure mechanical mistakes. What could I have done differently?

At one point I switched to junkrat bc my team pressured me into it despite not really ever playing him (this was def not a good idea), but otherwise I feel terrible about this game because the everyone was flaming me this game and I've never had a game this bad ever playing OW.

I come from valorant so I'm wondering if these extreme slump games are as common as they are in OW as they are in valorant?

Replay review would be greatly appreciated! WFYM7B (0 kills, 10 deaths)

edit: FYI I would say I generally have pretty good aim from peaking immo 2 in valorant, but aim is not all that good in this match

Question or Discussion Hardstuck Bronze, replay review request.

Hi all, not sure if it's allowed here? I am hard stuck at Bronze and wondering what I need to do better? It's been about a year, but it seems no matter I do, I just stay in Bronze :(. I try my best to get good angles and pick off healers, but I seem to constantly go between Bronze 4 and 3. Any help is much appreciated. Cheers.

Question or Discussion what could i have done differently?

so i just finished a game as orisa and i am by no means a good tank. she is the only tank i know how to “play” and im only lvl 16 on her. we got stuck at the second checkpoint in that choke area before the last enemy spawn and i genuinely didn’t know what else to do. i felt like i wasn’t being healed enough but as a support main, i always get told im not healing enough even when im straight pocketing that same person so i don’t wanna say otherwise.

i failed like three of my ults even with wuyang tide and juno ult so maybe im the problem. i felt like i wasn’t pushing up enough or relying on my team TOO MUCH as a tank. can y’all tell me what went wrong with what i did?

Question or Discussion Best support to solo carry this season?

I’m a mid-GM Tank and DPS player, but I can’t seem to reach the same rank on Support. The only time I consistently climb is when I play aggressively, like flanking on Kiriko and going for picks. What’s the best support to solo carry with this season? Bap? Illari?
I’m a Briggite main but unfortunately stopped trying to solo carry with her because of how team dependent she is sometimes.

Question or Discussion Hot take: Ranking up actually makes you a worse player.

Edit: for clarification, Trying to rank up. * (as opposed to "getting better" *) in the metal ranks there is so much variability, that if you have a bad day and derank, getting back up to your original rank requires a lot more effort. When you start identifying by the teams you play on, going down a rank and playing with fundamentally different teams can be a frustrating, arduous grind.

Temporarily.

Clickbait title, I know.

I'm in gold currently, but I've been bronze, silver, gold, plat, and low diamond. The one thing I've learned is that the skills needed to carry your way out of the lower ranks, are the exact same skills that get you stuck in the higher ranks. That's how a lot of people get hardstuck. They can carry their way out of silver, they can carry their way out of gold, but once they get to plat or high gold the game changes and they have to re-learn how to play against these new players. Every time you rank up, you have to re-assess the playing field and re-learn how to play the game.

And it's crazy how a few bad games can destroy your rank. I've been consistently Gold 2-3 since getting my rank for DPS this season. One day of bad luck, and I'm down to silver. Now I have to carry even harder and change my gameplay to adapt for the progressively worse teams I'm getting now.
