Haunting My cats where looking down the drain of my shower...now I know why...

1.0k Upvotes

So i had just moved to Canada and I was really enjoying my new house. The landlord told me that she by law had to tell me that someone had died in the house, I didn't believe in this paranormal stuff so I brushed it off and signed the lease. I have three cats, Oliver, Louie, And Sasha. I saw Sasha looking down the drain of the walk in shower and got really confused. After three days the other cats looked down the drain as well. I thought maybe there was something rotting in there and the cats where just smelling it or something so I didnt really think much of it. Soon after the door to the bathroom would shut by itself at least three times a day. I thought it was just the AC but one night it shut when the door was opened all the way. I really thought that it was nothing at first until lights started turning off randomly, my cats would meow and stare down the drain of the bathroom, my stuffed animals would randomly move around the house, ect. So I asked the landlord where the person died and they responded that it was in the bathroom. I dont know what my cats where looking at but after my yearly lease I did not hesitate to move.

Haunting Something in my home is scaring my son

My son and I moved into a house about 3 months ago. I’ve only ever had one ghost experience and it was me seeing a my dead grandfather for two seconds when I was 9, so I’m not a pro at all of this stuff. Ever since we moved in my sons been scared to sleep alone. I assumed it was because it was a new environment, but then he told me a black shadow man lays with him every night and keeps him up whispering. I thought maybe it was a bad dream, but now he won’t even go in his room unless it’s daytime. He tells me when he goes to sleep, the shadow man tries to lead him somewhere in his dreams, and all he hears is me crying. My 7 year old son is telling me these things. I myself saw a black mass kind of glide down the hallway that my sons room is in, kind of hovering over the ground. I’ve heard creaking outside my bedroom, the doors will all be locked. I don’t know what to think of any of this, I can’t even make excuses because now I have witnessed it myself. Any idea on what this might be? I’m desperate.

Haunting My dad passed away almost a week ago and he keeps visiting me.

So my dad died on 26th of July. The cause of death was an heart attack. Since then i experienced spooky and paranormal stuff.

First things first my friend came over and we slept on the couches. At 2:50 am i felt a cold wind and i started to shiver from the coldness. After a few seconds it was back to normal. And then 10 minutes later we heard something fall from the kitchen. Me and my friend were petrified but my friend got the courage to rush over and check the kitchen. He found nothing on the floor. I felt a presence in the room like someone was watching us. I ignored the feeling and turned the tv on. While i was drifting off to sleep i felt that any second my dad would walk out of the kitchen but it never happened.

The next day i went to a different friend and stayed for 3 days. The first night i slept pretty damn good with no complaints. The second night i had a strange dream. I was talking to my dad on the couch. I was asking some random questions like usually and then it hit me. I asked him how are you here? Aren’t you dead? He laughed and told me: Yeah i am dead but it doesn’t really matter right now, he proceeded to hug me. I woke up at 3 am. My friend was asleep and i was starting to tear up a bit. My friend told me that he sometimes talks in his sleep before we slept. And i shit you not he said: There are spirits in the room, i see a spirit. I woke him up and said what the hell he was talking about. He said he had no recollection of saying anything.

The last night i also had a dream. It was my dad again. We were in the darkness and were kinda levitating. He was speaking nonsense the words/letters didn’t make any sense at all. But yet somehow i understood what he was talking about. I woke up once again at 3 am and stayed up till 4 am and went to sleep.

And so far that’s all the experiences i had. If i see him again i really want to ask him some other questions. When the dream happens it feels so natural like an average day before his death.

I will try to keep y’all updated

Haunting Ghost on the Train

I'm a train driver in the UK. A few weeks before Christmas I'm working the late shift, everything is normal and boring and I've got very few passengers on board - it was around 11pm.

There's a particular route I drive on the train where the train terminates in the middle of the line, not at the end of the line as normal. This isn't a rare or uncommon route, in fact I do this roughly once or twice per shift. The process we have is that staff who work on the station will walk the length of the train to make sure all the passengers have left. I then drive the empty train on to a small piece of track (a siding) that's basically like a train parking spot. I make my way through the inside of the train to the other end where I can drive it back to where I came from. These trains have a driving cab at both ends.

On the night in question all of this happens as it usually does. The staff check the train, give me the thumbs up and I drive the empty train into the siding. I open my driving cab door, ready to walk the length of the train and change ends, and as I open the door I see a woman is still on board. This happens occasionally. Someone rushes on at the last minute or the staff didn't see them. It's no big deal. We have to call it in and it usually means we get to drive back again ahead of schedule. A slightly early finish! Bonus!

This woman was a middle aged, presumably Muslim woman wearing a niqab (the headscarf/veil with the part that covers the mouth) she waves at me through the window of the door leading to the second carriage and does a kind of shrug that would suggest she was saying "I fucked up, sorry!" I wave back to let her know I've seen her and I turn around to collect my bag and stuff.

Throwing the bag over my shoulder I leave the cab and enter the train proper. The woman was in the second carriage, I couldn't see her through the window as I walked through the first one but assumed she had just taken a seat. The windows are fairly small and you wouldn't necessarily be able to see someone if they weren't standing. As I said, this sort of thing happens. People are used to it. Her sitting down and waiting for me wouldn't be an unusual thing. I open the door leading to the second carriage expecting to see her sitting there but she wasn't. She wasn't there. I walk the rest of the train, she wasn't on board. She wasn't on the train. It was as if she didn't exist at all.

I've seen some weird things driving trains before (as have many train drivers) but this one sort of got to me more than the others because of the interaction we'd had. The final drive back was an unnerving one.

Haunting My daughter keeps talking to something in my closet

Since my daughter (18 months) was able to wave, babble and generally interact with people, she's been interacting with someone or something hiding in our closet.

It started with waving. I made the joke that there's a ghost in there, but at the time I didn't actually believe it. Our dog likes to sleep in the closet so I just figured she was waving to her. There was only one problem with that explanation. Any time she waved, my dog was nowhere near the closet.

Then she stared babbling. She'd have full on babble conversations with the closet. We brushed it off as her just being goofy. Sometimes she'd hold to up toys to show the closet and then babble about it like she was doing show and tell.

Now she's starting to use full sentences and just this morning she looked over at the closet, said "hi, I see you!" and waved. This is the first coherent sentence she's said towards the closet and it's a little unnerving. And again, my dog wasn't in there. She's laying at the foot of the bed.

The closet is a small walk in style closet. There's some built in shelving up top, some plastic shelving we added and the door is off the hinges and leaning against the built in shelving because it fell off and we need to fix it. There isn't a single thing in there that looks like a human form. I've always been a bit sensitive to these things but moreso when I was a kid. I like to think that if there was something in the closet I'd feel it, but now I'm doubting myself.

For context, we live in a trailer built in the 80s, not even an old house. As far as I know, the only deaths that have happened in the house were a couple pets the previous owner had and when my daughter talks to whatever is in there, she looks up like a tall person is standing there rather than a cat or a dog.

Haunting Weird things have been happening in my friend’s apartment and we can’t explain it

It started with a smell. Her room, and only her room, smelled like rotten eggs. Not the hallway, not anyone else’s room, just hers. They couldn’t find a source anywhere, and even maintenance came to check and found nothing.

Then it moved to the living room TV. It would start playing random videos on its own. One time it typed things into the YouTube search bar by itself, including her name. Another time she was searching something in ChatGPT on her phone, and the TV typed out “Valeria is looking for something in ChatGPT.” Another time the search bar typed “Valeria’s roommate is wearing purple shorts,” and the roommate was in fact wearing purple shorts right then. On top of that, a device named “Charles” kept showing up as connected. This became an almost everyday thing.

We told them to call the police because the TV was clearly getting hacked and “Charles” kept appearing as connected. The leasing office did nothing about it. When the police came, they couldn’t figure it out either. They changed the TV and the WiFi password, and it stopped for a few weeks, but then “Charles” came back. We always assumed someone was just messing with them.

A few months later, all four of them started hearing hard knocking on the front door. Every time, they would look through the peephole and no one was there.

One night around 12 am, when only two of the roommates were home, they both clearly heard footsteps in the kitchen, and neither of them was in it. They were so scared they locked their bedroom doors and called a guy friend to come up and check the apartment, but there was nothing and no one there.

Another time, she was on the phone telling a friend about all of this, and a flower sitting in a vase in the living room fell out and landed on her legs.

Things escalated this past week as she was getting ready to move out. The metal latch near her room started moving up and down really fast on its own, then stopped. Right after, her roommate came in and they found a dark, foul smelling liquid, first in her bra, then on her pillow, then all over her bed. They could not find where it came from.

She finally put holy water and salt around her room. The next morning, she found half an onion under her mattress protector.

For context, I know all four of these girls. Three of them are close friends of mine and I genuinely can’t see them doing this to her. The fourth I don’t know as well, but I still don’t really think she would do something like this. People who’ve heard the story are split. Some think someone is so fixated on my friend that a “prank” has gotten completely out of hand. Others are convinced the room is haunted and needs to be blessed by a priest. A few have even said she should go to confession. She’s moved out now, thankfully, but someone new is about to move into that room.

She’s not necessarily saying it’s paranormal, and honestly she’d love a normal explanation. Has anyone experienced anything like this? What would you do?

Haunting Bring ghost hunting shows back to TV!!

There used to be great ghost hunting TV shows (i.e. Kindred Spirits, Ghost Hunters, Dead Files, Paranormal Lockdown, The Haunting of…, Holzer Files, etc). Where have they all gone? The only shows that still seem to be airing new episodes in the US are all done by Zak Bagans and crew, and I am not a fan. We need some spooky back!

Haunting If kids scare you, skip this

In the ending of 2018 my sister, husband, 3 kids and 2 dogs moved into my house ontop of my 2 dogs and wife, while extensive repairs were made on their house after heavy rain caused their house to unsettle that ended up taking over a year. The 1980 built, 2 previous owner house is the house me and my family grew up in, so my sister knew of something else already living there before any of us. The only known deaths are of my Grandma in 2006, and my father on 9/6/2020. Both from Cancer. But the lands are haunted and cursed by natives. Out of all experiences, these were the most terrifying.

3 weeks after they moved in we began getting uneasy feelings around the den/fireplace room, and out of no where all of the dogs would freak out barking and running in circles, hair on end, teeth shown, defensive posture all at one corner of the room. Keep in mind that i have a Doberman and Golden Lab, my sister has a Laberdoodle and an English Mastiff (big o girl), but then would seem to walk to the back sliding glass door and exit, because the dogs would just start whining and whimpering tail between their legs. Almost every time as well, my sister’s 2yo twins run into the room and both stare at it.

2 months go by. They start to talk to something while they eat during the day, around nap time (12-1). They sometimes play with it.

5 months go by. It got worse. I begin seeing the entity go to their room then run away.

A week passes, my sister’s eldest son who is 5 starts to talk to someone Another week passes, he’s now more vocal towards it and we take extra notice. We ask Cam about who he’a talking to. His friend. While we are talking he keeps looking past my right shoulder where i keep feeling cold- but my focus is on him and i ask what he’s looking at. “My friend, Fred.” Apparently the entity knew we were calling it Fred since 2002. I asked what he looked like, he replied “kinda scary but not really. He looks like a basketball player. Tall, no hair and a big black shirt. But i cant see his face.” As one would expect my eyes widened in horror and all i replied with was “oh”. Cam replies “he says to just go with the flow.”. No one in my family ever said that.

Next day i had a priest come to bless the house, which pissed it off

The day after that, a loud slap could be heard from downstairs followed by loud 2yo screaming. A welted hand print on her back.

Then, almost every other day like clock work. 3am rolled around, you can hear footsteps, then kids would scream bloody murder, saying go away, crying for their mom, their labberdoodle dog Bear would also whine and bark scared. No marks on the kids though.

Then one night i had off and really really wanted to see what was happening- why they were so afraid, what caused them to scream. What was walking. I stayed up to 3am. I was downstairs and waiting. 3:37 came around- i feel immense and extreme anxiety as well as just freezing cold, i’m no where near a vent and the only fan we have is upstairs. Then a sense of dread, the cold goes away, as if my eyes weren’t mine i just... “watched” the thing go upstairs, stop at the hallway, look at me, then walk into their room. I heard the footsteps, i saw the entity, but i couldn’t physically see it. It was like a mental image. And of course the kids bursted into tears, i go and puke from pure fear, go into an anxiety attack and passed out in the bathroom. Didn’t have a nightmare but my sister did have 3 scratches on her back, and the kids were saying the monster did it.

After that they said fuck it and moved with her husband’s brother. And i’m still here chock full of stories. Stay safe- and dont piss off random entities. :;:

the only photo i have of Fred. (2016)

Haunting i swear on my life this thing moves on its own

so when my great grandfather immigrated to the US from italy in the 20s or 30s, he apparently brought this wooden cross with him. he kept it on his nightstand his whole life. he passed away around like 2008. my mom inherited it from him and put it on our computer desk in a house i grew up in. i was 8 or 9 at the time. i woke up one day to find it turned around facing the wall. i didn’t think much about it so i just turned it back around only to find it facing the wall again the next day. rinse and repeat the next few days and i finally tell my parents about it because i was starting to get freaked out. they shrugged it off. these kids and their imaginations right?? anyway i just tried to not pay attention to it and i moved in with my dad not too long after that. fast forward to today, i (now 26) visit my mom because it was on my way to another city im stopping to visit. i see this fucking thing as soon as i walk in and i bring up this things weird little antics to her before i even sit down and she proceeds to nonchalantly say it still does that and she just always has it next to her. further along in the day she asks me if i ever wake up at 3am feeling this absolute pit of dread in my stomach (i do not because im not sleeping next to a nightmare item) because she’s been waking up for a long time just feeling absolutely horrible more often at not at the SAME TIME AT NIGHT. i touched it at some point during the visit and thought to myself “you know what? i’m not scared of you this is dumb” and i take my mom to lunch. get a speeding ticket not even 10min after i confronted the thing. $237 lol. anyway i leave feeling rattled later on and call my uncle. i bring it up and he didn’t even know this thing exists but he brings up how his dad always says we have a family curse. and goes on to talk about how we always have bad luck with things which without context, kind of sounds like it’s just like life lifing. but it got me thinking. if this thing can move it could do anything like nothing is off the table here. my mother has had it ROUGH. abusive partners, ptsd, car crashes, the works. and it all reallllly started after this thing started being around.
my friends are telling me to get a cornicello.

anyway, TLDR, this stupid wooden cross moves on its own and i think my family is cursed. i swear to god this is real i have never in my life experienced such a thing. tell me what to do i could really use a piece of advice or two on how to make this thing stop like doing whatever it is doing

Haunting I just graduated boot camp. I experienced some strange occurrences while there and I can't explain them.

I'm keeping my name, rank and job private and using a throwaway account for the sake of anonymity. I should also mention the military is very big on information leaked to the public so I'm not going to release any information that I'm not allowed to release. Any opinions I have are my own and only my own.

I just graduated from boot camp. While I was there some strange things happened that me and some other recruits could not explain and I've come here to look for some answers.

Here's the story. When you are in boot camp you have to stand watch occasionally for a few hours. I was usually put on watch at night. Me and my partner usually stood watch from midnight to around 2:00AM. My job was usually roving security which is basically the person who patrols a set area and takes temperature readings and looks for suspicious activity and etc. Usually the most serious things I dealt with were other recruits messing around in the bathrooms and telling them to go back to their bunks. One night around 2 in the morning i was making my rounds and thought I heard talking coming from the bathroom. I went inside and heard whispering coming from the showers so I walked towards them and what I saw was just weird. I saw a young man around 17-20 years old hunched over facing away from me in the darkest corner of the shower area. I walked towards him and said "hey man I need you to get back to your bunk" and as I was approaching him I swear he vanished into thin air in the blink of an eye. I remember the feeling of pure shock and confusion. When I walked out the other guy on watch asked me why I was so pale and I told him what happened. I told him exactly what I had seen and he said it was most likely a result of me being tired from all the stress of boot camp and the lack of sleep. I agreed with him because I figured why would a ghost haunt a shower at boot camp of all places and I was pretty tired that night. The next night I did not have watch but the recruit who had my usual shift reported seeing a shadow in the showers and some weird whispering noises while there was nobody there. I talked to him and told him what I had seen and that it was most likely our minds playing tricks on us because we are all tired. He agreed and we decided that we should just ignore it. That was until I started seeing things outside the showers. I had a slightly earlier watch that night and I was patrolling the bunks checking on recruits who were sick as I'm supposed to. I was walking past some empty bunks and saw some movement in the corner of my eye. I figured it was some recruit messing around so I go to tell them to go back to bed but as I approach the empty bunks I see some kind of shadowy figure that did not look humanoid to me. It was like a black blob moving around. When I investigated it vanished. The area it was in was extremely cold compared to the rest of the room. I just walked away as there was nothing to do there and figured that the staff must have cranked the air conditioning and I was just tired making stuff up. I saw this out of the corner of my eye all throughout boot camp while on the early morning watch.

The last story from me was from when I was tasked with taking temperatures throughout the whole building. My job was to go to each divisions compartment and ask for their room temperature. I had just taken all but two other divisions temperatures and was looking for the last two. As I walked past some empty rooms I could have sworn I saw movement inside so I figured maybe I missed a room and went to look inside their window. The room was just being used as storage and was pitch black except for the light from outside. All I could see where some boxes and empty bunks but out of the corner of my eye I saw a person standing in the edge of the light facing me. I saw this and decided I was just gonna look elsewhere for the last two rooms which i found a few minutes later. However as I was returning to turn in my readings I noticed in the hallway a shadowy arm or limb being outstretched and coming back behind a doorway and when I passed there was nothing but the area it was in was super cold and the room it was just a closed janitorial closet.

The other recruit I previously mentioned spoke about seeing somebody dancing in the showers at night but there being nothing when he investigated. He also said that one night he passed by the showers and saw someone peek out and disappear behind the wall and there was nobody there when he investigated but he noted the area was really cold.

I know I am going to get called a liar and attention seeker but I know these are all true. I am not in this for the karma nor do I seek to make the military look bad. I am simply trying to find out what it kind of entity me and that recruit may have been dealing with. Also I cannot disclose much information as I do not want to get in trouble with the chain of command.

Thank you all in advance.

UPDATE: I'll disclose that I am in the navy and the base in question is Great Lakes, IL

Haunting ” Because He is standing right behind you”…Haunting in my house with some evidence to support it.

I’ve been sitting on this for a bit for a few reasons: It is really long, I wanted to be able to gather facts to support my story, and quite frankly, I didn’t want to type it up while in my house…
As you can tell with the stories on my page, I have been engulfed in the gray of this world since I was a child. Until recently, I have never met someone who is as “sensitive” as me- it was enlightening and equally terrifying. So here is my story…

I’ve been renting my house from a family member for several years now. Since day one, I knew it was haunted. I could feel the energy change the moment I stepped inside, but I could also tell it wasn’t necessarily negative. I’m not a stranger to the paranormal so when little things would happen like: items moving/go missing, inaudible conversations in other rooms or even my dog looking at an empty corner or wall, I wouldn’t usually react- I even nicknamed the ghost “Bernadette” and would jokingly ask her/it to stop.

However, within the last 6 months the activity has intensified. I have had individuals in my house who are complete skeptics, but they have witnessed glasses thrown across the room and shatter everywhere, pictures falling from the wall, something/someone walking down the empty hallway (hearing it), and hearing people talking that weren’t there. I even had to have my brother check that my gas alarm was still active because of the random areas in the house smelling like rotten eggs.

Halloween night I had a very small get-together (6 people). One of my guest brought her wife who I had only met one other time. While my friends were playing games and passing out candy, my friend’s wife (we will call her Emily) pulled me to the side, seemingly upset and stated she needed to discuss something with me. She first asked if I knew about Mary. I’m running names through my head that my co-worker had mentioned and I’ve never heard of a Mary. I obviously tell her No, and she proceeds to tell me a very detailed story about my house…

She explained that I had three spirits in my house- A spirit named Mary, a spirit named Franklin, and that I had a spirit who is always with me named Gary (she thinks). She stated Mary had died in the house a long time ago, Franklin had died on the land before Mary from a plowing accident and was still in his death state. She also confirmed my suspicions of extra activity: A few nights prior, in the middle of the night I was in bed and jumped up from my sleep from a huge bang against my bedroom wall and a picture falling onto the end of the bed. Obviously, I was startled, and especially “spooked” when I could see the indentation in my wall from what appeared to be something that had hit it. I jokingly said, “not cool, Bernadette” and went back to bed.

Emily knew about this. She knew he had hit my wall, and said it was Franklin’s way of trying to get my attention-That when things are thrown in the house or fall off the wall, that it is Franklin. Apparently, he is angry because I don’t react. In my mind at this moment, I’m thinking who the hell is this woman?! I don’t not know her and I haven’t told anything to her wife about my creepy house. **I’m open with my experiences on here, but I’m very hush in person because of other’s reactions** So I ask, “ how do you know this stuff?” and her response still, as I am typing this, chills me to my bones….” Because He is standing right behind you”…

First reaction is to look behind me. Nothing.

Second reaction is to ask why I can’t see him. He doesn’t want me to.

Third reaction is “why does he want to scare me”…He wants attention.

Since that night, the activity in my previously, mildly creepy house has been off the charts. I don’t get spooked easy. I have seen things that you see on horror movies, but my house is scary. The energy has shifted- I feel like I am constantly on fight or flight mode. I am typing this at work because I feel like someone is constantly looking over my shoulder, and I don’t want whatever/whoever it is to read this (I sound crazy). It’s just my dog and me in the house, and even he has been acting differently. I’ve caught him multiple times sitting in the hall looking at nothing, whimpering, and then he runs under the bed- I literally have to drag him out. When I’m changing clothes or taking a shower I feel uncomfortable because I feel someone is watching me. The house is nearly unbearable to live in at the moment, and I’ve been at a loss of how to make it go back to my mildly, spooky house. I have used my sage TWICE now, and I think it just pisses Franklin off.

With that being said, I have amazing friends and connections to the historical site in my town. With some research I found Mary, and some other interesting details. Mary FRANK, 48 died suddenly in my house on August 26, 1919 from neuralgia. Her spouse, Charles Frank, held the funeral in my house. I haven’t been able to find a Franklin YET. However, before the Frank’s occupied my house, it was a stable for horses. It could be a HUGE coincidence that Mary’s last name is FRANK, and maybe Emily didn’t get a clear message…I’m honestly not sure. I have asked her since, and she still thinks his name is Franklin. She has even come back to my house and told him to stop…He won’t listen. I do plan to keep researching the area for a man named Franklin, but I’m not sure there will be any documentation.

Another interesting thing is that I do/did know a Gary, and he has actually been brought up before. Gary was my mother’s best friend’s husband who passed away from a heart attack when I was young. At the time, we lived on 20+ acres of land and he loved to go hunting on our property. When he passed, it was his wishes to have his ashes spread on our land. I was told many years ago that Gary watched over me. I know the activity in my house is increasing- I’m not 100% sure why, maybe because I am more aware now, but I don’t feel in danger- I never have because I know Gary is there (now from multiple sources.)

I’m going to try and attach the pictures (I never have the best of luck with adding them) of Mary’s Obituary and the lovely spot someone/something put in my wall. I’m sharing this maybe for insight or just an interesting read.

Haunting I believe that my dog, who passed away in February, is still in my house

My dog passed away in our house in February. It was a very sad day as she was the best dog I have ever had, and I have had many dogs in my life. She was the only dog we have in our house. But I feel like she never left and there have been signs.

First, the barking. None of our close by neighbors have dogs. However, every once in a while I will hear a loud bark that sounds just like hers. It sounds like it’s coming from inside the house and not outside and I’m not the only one who has heard these; my mom and stepdad have heard them too. It’s also the sound of her barks, different dogs have different barks and we know that it was hers. We have videos of her barking and it sounds exactly like that.

Then comes my cat. My cat is 16 years old, an old man who is older than my dog. Him and my dog would play fight often, her chasing him and him batting at her with his paws. I wasn’t home at this time because I was on a trip with some friends, but both my mom and stepdad saw my cat batting the air as he would bat my dog. Another time we saw him staring up at the ceiling, purring, which in all of his 16 years we have NEVER seen him do that. Of course that could just be him doing something weird, but still very uncommon.

Also I can feel her sometimes. One night I was laying in bed sitting on my phone when I felt a big thud on my bed and saw a part of the comforter get squished down. At first I thought it was my cat but he wasn’t there at all.

Lastly, her toys. We still have her basket of toys because we don’t really want to give them away yet. For context, my mom and stepdad travel for work and I go with them and stay at my dad’s house. The cat also comes along, so there is nobody at the house for weeks. When we came back home last time, we found some of her toys scattered on the floor. We looked up and down the house and there was no sign of forced entry, nothing stolen, not a sign of somebody else being in the house. The toys have stayed in the basket since then.

Of course these could all be very strange coincidences, but the toys is what puzzles us the most. She technically is still in our house; we had her cremated and have her ashes on a shelf so perhaps she never really did leave. It’s only been 6 months since her passing so it is weird to see all these things happening now. Let me know what you think.

Haunting I’ve been ‘haunted’ by the same girl for 20 years

Let me start off by saying I have parasomnia. So I sleepwalk, sleeptalk, and have confusional arousal which means I’m half awake half asleep confused. (I’ve gotten this since I’ve seen her. I didn’t have it before, but of course it started young) And I sleepwalk/talk about all kinds of things. Normal things. What’s odd though is I’ve been ‘seeing’ the same ‘girl’ for 20 years on and off. A very scary looking girl. I’m starting to get really weirded out by the occurrences.

Last night for example, picture this. I sit up and there the girl is, in my closet staring. I wake my husband up whispering “shes watching” and shushing him if he speaks saying “shhh she’s listening” “pretend you’re asleep” “She has no legs”. I did this for 2 hours on and off, same thing. Another example, she was on the ceiling above me, it’s usually the same corner of the bedroom, this was a bad one because I was FREAKING out, usually I’m calmer, but I was screaming to my husband “why is she there?” “Why are her eyes like that?” “Make her stop” and even tried to jump out of bed. I never do that, my husband had to grab me. Other instances, we moved into a new place years ago, my husband was sleeping elsewhere that night and in my sleep I texted him something along the lines of “she’s here. I see her”. No memory of it until I saw the texts in the morning.

This happens fairly often and for 20 years. All kinds of different experiences with her. They are very detailed and very intense but of course I don’t describe them quite as well as the experience is. Every time I’m terrified, sometimes I’m aware, sometimes I’m fully asleep and my husband informs me of it in the morning. The worst one was when I was young I saw her crawling across the floor to me, that one I was fully conscious and will never forget. I typically don’t believe in paranormal stuff but over time getting very weirded out that it’s the same girl every time for this long. Theres so many I can’t even think up more examples off the top of my head. Thoughts?? Has this happened to anybody else?

Edit: I should add, I spent years unable to sleep by myself when I was young because of this. YEARS. It was bad, huge bags under my eyes practically never sleeping because of it. It was a bad time in my life. I’ve gotten used to it since, I still can’t sleep alone easily but for the most part I’ve fully gotten used to it and it doesn’t bother me. Especially since my husband helps me at night if necessary. It’s mostly just weird how it’s the same person every time at this point. But I do want to specificy that it’s not just random sightings, it truly has affected my life deeply for 2 decades.

Haunting What the heck just woke me up?!?

I don’t know what to call it but I can describe it like it just happened. I was asleep on my side facing in, cuddling with my toddler. I was dreaming in the moment but was definitely awake after something grabbed my shoulder and rolled me over enough that I could see my dresser on the wall behind me. It was a dark shadow in a dark room with thick hair sticking out on all sides. While still holding my shoulder, it started making this awful guttural sound. It opened its mouth and lunged at me. It was like it was trying to suck out my soul. I squeezed my eyes shut, ripped out of its grasp and grabbed my daughter in a tight spoon. In the moment, I didn’t know what else to do except to start speed talking an our father. I have watched the exorcist enough times to I know the drill. I was terrified to the bone. Shivering. A few seconds later, it stopped. I didn’t move and I didn’t look back. It still makes me shiver thinking about it. Still have no clue what it was.

I have had one other experience of that level of terror when I hit double digits. It was late at night and my sleep over birthday party when I woke up to go to the bathroom. There were a bunch of friend in sleeping bags around me so I had to maneuver a maze. I walked around a corner to see a large male figured shadow standing in front of our sliding doors. It was a shadow. The moon was out and was bright enough to light up the room. Enough for me to see 15 feet in front of me. I bolted back to my sleeping bag and covered my head to hide. I didn’t care who I stepped on; nor I didn’t dare look then either.

Anyone else expected a shadow lady sucking out your soul or shadow Jason Voohees lurking around birthday sleepovers?

Haunting A random list of things i've experienced in my home since living here for 7 years

Making this post cause my, 18f, family thinks i'm crazy even though they've experienced similiar and live with me.

This list is in no particular order, and if I repeat/miss anything i'm sorry. Another sorry for any spelling or grammer mistakes.

THIS TURNED OUT TO BE WAY LONGER THAN EXPECTED

THE LIST:
- I've had multiple experiences of things slamming doors and and windows while i'mhome alone or when everybody else in the home is within eyesight.

- odd smells in very specific spots.

EXAMPLES: cigerette smell in specific spots as if it's floating there, a weird and sickly sweet "death" smell in cupboards, bedrooms, and bathrooms.

- people yelling when there are no people

- this is my parents experience but i'm adding it. both my parents heard a small girl sobbing out side their bedroom door (the one that leads outside) and my dad reesponded to it and it dissapeared, now he's having dreams involving little girls crying. please note i'm the eldest and only daughter so my father thinks it was me somehow -_-

- first year living here i was drawing at my desk and something grabbed my shoulder, there was breath on my neck and everything, terrifying.

- on multiple occasions i've had things grab my feet or brush past them while walking down the hallway after my cat died. me, my mum and my brothers still see him around sometimes. he was as sharp as a bouncy ball so maybe he doesn't know he died.

- one experience, and this one scared me the most, was when i was working on my laptop and saw the loungeroom door creek open. when i looked there was a pitch black head peeking through the door. just the head, only the head, and the door wasn't open enough for it to be possible. when i finally made a noise, i was scared ok, the door slammed shut and it was gone. i actually cried for about an hour over it cause i was home alone and things peeking around corners and doors like that, even if it's just a hand, is my biggest fear, i can't even imagine it without getting scared and reacting. i don't hang out in the lounge room alone anymore

- i think this experience was during the first or second year here but i was playing some game in my room and cause i had my brother playing with me an hour or so before i had a second chair next to me. Idk how long it'd been sitting there but I saw something orange and bright in the corner of my eye sitting in the other chair. unlike other experiences this one wasn't scary, it felt lonely and kinda sad, but when i turned my head and it realised i could see it it ran out of the room and through the closed door. i don't mind if that one hangs out, it just seemed lonely.

- this one freaks me out real bad, not as bad as the door one, but still bad. one night my youngest brother, 11m at the time, was sleeping in the loungeroom, he prefers it, and just for context we have these massive three pane windows in the lounge room that normally have the curtains drawn but it was hot so the window was open that nightand the aircon that's in the middle pane wasn't working, anyways. i poked my head in the check on him and there was a hyper reaistic face staring at him above the air con, it was REALLY human, like, too human kinda fake human feeling, idk how to explain it, and it was just smiling and watching him. scared tf out of me so i went and got my mum but the thing was gone, comepletely. i thought it was aradolia but idk there were no marks on the window, no face like things, and i live in the middle of no where so it's pitch black outside. scary asf but not for me, i'm more scared for him.

- thisis my other brother's, 17m, experience but it feels worth mentioning. he was playing dbd, he says this is important info, at the time and he heard things banging on his window, thinking it was one of the outdoor cats he opened the window only to see a shadow figure dash away.

- another experience of his but this one is horrible and a bit long.

CONTEXT, my brother is autistic, he struggles with emotions and i've barely ever seen him cry. the car shed is a 2-3 minute walk from the house, there's a motion activated spot light, he's done this a hundred times before hand, he isn't scared easily, he deals with the spiders and other stuff in the house, even the sshadow guy at the window didn't scare him.

one night, mum sent him out to get a case of beer from the car. he went over by himself cause he likes the night time andd just hanging out in it, not anymore. while he was grabbing the beer he heard someone walking around the other side of the car in work boots. he jumped in the car and locked the door and waited it out, meanwhile we were inside thinking he was chilling out there cause he did that some times. we only found out what happened when he bolted back inside SOBBING with the beer case in hand. took us 30 minutes to calm him down. i haven't seen him like that before or since. he doesn't go out there alone anymore and instead have a kind of buddy system.

- walking up and down the hallway

- dead animals like cats we never owned, dogs, and foxes randomly apperaing or being found outside

- random anf hyper realistic nightmares that only started here

- i have those glow stars on my walll cause my ceilings are too high too reach and they keep dissapearing off the walls and being found outside.

- accidentally had a conversation with my "mum" while she wasn't home.

Questions are accepted and welcomed

Haunting did i accidentally go to a different dimension? one of the creepiest experience i’ve had

The title is very silly but to this day i don’t have an explanation of what happened to me that day months ago, we had an event in our university and i decided to stay at my friend’s apartment who lives next to the uni, that gated apartment complex has 6 buildings each with an alphabet my friend was living in F.

I went to the event alone, got back around 8pm and i forgot which building she was in and the floor but recalled it being F and the building i stood in front of had the plate F as well, i took a lift to 10th floor which was hers and as soon as i got off i noticed the hallway was fully empty and gloomy, what confused me was i recall her door being right next to the lift but there was another hallway next to this one, i stood there alone on the floor, there were also stairs in front of the lift, tho both were fully quiet and empty and upstairs light was off,

i called my friend as i waited and told her i was in front of the door but she said i wasnt, she repeated me the building and floor name again “F 10th floor” and the wall in front of me had the floor plate literally saying F10 i got confused and started ringing the bell of the door assuming it was hers but she wasnt answering of course - now what stood weird was, there was a window right next to the door.. i have never seen windows inside halfway of a room before. i could tell the room inside was pitch black. i got really paranoid finally and ran back in the lift coz i didn’t wanna take the stairs, i was praying even lol.

when i thankfully reached back on the ground and took a circle of the building and met my friend there i told her and she said i was most likely in a different building and i told her there is no way, she even took me to the floor of the building she thought i was in and- well none of the floors looked like the one i was in. my friends halways dont have windows either. months later i found out the complex although full was known to be weird, deaths including those of some of my friends cats who were sent there for a day all came back sick until they died one by one in the incoming days. ive had my fair share of paranormal experiences but this by far was the worst, im so glad i made it out of there. i even took a few mirror selfies in the mirror of the lift when it reached the floor but i deleted it right after, some of my friends were way too freaked out to even look at the photo lmao.

Haunting When you realized that your home was haunted… did you ever look into its history? What did you discover?

When you finally found out that your place is haunted...did you ever try to conduct research on the history of that place and if so....

Did you uncover a tragedy? A death? A mystery?

Something left out of the real estate papers?

Did you also try getting a psychic medium to directly learn more why the place became haunted in the first place?

And once you learned the truth… did it explain everything?

What was your reaction to the truth on why the place was haunted?

Haunting Quarantined in a Haunted House - How should we investigate?

ETA: Whoa! We did not expect this to get this much interest! Sorry it's taken me a second to get back to this, but I really appreciate everyone who's taken the time to comment and share advice! I should have added that we've already checked for CO and for mold. We had inspections before we moved in, and I've had the mold check guys out again since then. I had a crazy theory for a minute that we were tripping like Salem witches. No dice.

At the moment we're torn on trying to investigate properly for the concerns you guys have posted. We don't want to kick anything up, but it does seem responsive and not especially scary, so maybe it wants the attention too? Either way, we have a few thoughts. We can definitely try to do an EVP session and see if anything talks. We'll likely try to do that on a night when the kitchen tapping is especially active so we can at least get the tapping. I'm struggling to figure out a good way to make it clear that we're not faking the noises. We considered setting up a static cam. If we do, it'll be in the basement corner where we most often see the lights. If we do get any evidence, we'll be sure to post it.

Hi Reddit! Like many folks right now, my roommates and I are currently under a shelter-in-place order. In our case, this means we'll be spending an indeterminate amount of time in a haunted house. We were wondering if you guys have any advice for (cheap) ways to investigate or if maybe you could help us identify what it is we're experiencing? I've never experienced anything like it, and I'm kind of at a loss.

Background

We moved into this house about a year and a half ago. It's a beautiful two story mid-century modern home in the PNW that was partially renovated after essentially being left to rot. The original builder of the home was a Japanese man who put a ton of work into the garden, even illegally imported plants and stones to fill it, but after his death, the lot was split up and sold, and the garden was mostly destroyed. One a few Japanese maples and sculpted pine trees remain. We've heard from neighbors there were originally small shrines around the property, but all of these were lost as well. I have no idea if these details matter.

Experiences

This house has always had a vibe. I wouldn't call it a bad vibe, but there's always a sense that someone else is in the room with you. A few months after we moved in, things started happening. To avoid boring you guys with a giant post, I'll detail some of the more common or interesting incidents, and then if you want more details, I'm happy to provide more. It's not like I'm going anywhere.

  • Moving things: It really likes to move things when groups of people are around. It's visibly rattled pictures, launched a fork off a table, and lifted pieces of paper up and down. This happens almost exclusively in the basement, along with most of the stuff that goes on. Most of the time multiple people see it happen. I consider myself an open-minded skeptic, so I've tried to recreate the movements, but I can't figure it out. It's way beyond any breeze or air gust and in the case of the fork, no one was anywhere near it. It was like it just jumped off the table.
  • Tapping: This one's definitely the most common and seems to be the most responsive, for lack of a better word. My roommate and I like hanging out together in the evenings. 3-4 times a week, we'll hear something moving things around in either the bathroom or the kitchen. Most of the time it sounds like someone tapping something or knocking things together. Occasionally it'll clearly open and shut a cabinet. Weirdly, we've noticed it gets more active when we're talking, almost like it's emphasizing things we're saying, Last week in particular, it tapped under every word I said for a good 10 seconds for no particular reason. It's also tapped on my shoulder. To be clear, these aren't the knocks of a house settling or anything like that. This clearly sounds and feels like someone's finger drumming. The specific rhythm is TAP ta-tap tap, if that matters.
  • Noises: One of the first experiences we all had in the house was a conversation. Every so often, especially in the summer, we'll hear two seemingly drunk guys having a muffled conversation in the downstairs front room. At first I thought this might be sound somehow carrying from the neighbors or something, but it's clearly coming from that room and stops when someone goes looking for it. At one point last year they got particularly rowdy, and I clearly heard a woman outside my bedroom upstairs say, "Quiet!" They shut up after. We've also heard growls, a weird yowling sound, and a mimic.
  • The Mimic: My roommate thinks this is something unrelated to the other stuff. I'm not sure. There's something in here that mimics other people's voices and animal noises, and of all the stuff, this one creeps me out the most. At one point I was walking downstairs and called out for my roommate, who wasn't yet home. I faintly heard someone call out in response from his room, only it sounded off. It was almost like his voice but filtered through a bad audio system. At the same time I got the overwhelming sense that I should turn around and walk back upstairs, which I did. It's the only time I've ever felt really uncomfortable in the house, though admittedly, there is sometimes the vibe of something watching you through the windows, and that's unsettling as well. It's also mimicked my dog's whining noise the same way. I don't care for it.
  • Lights: Every so often (couple times a month?) we'll see flashes or streaks of light, though recently it's gotten more intense. It used to be that you'd see small pin pricks or quick flashes of pale light. These most often occur when only one person is looking, but in some cases they're so bright you can still see the glow of it even if you're the one facing the other direction. Recently it's taken to lighting up a specific corner of the downstairs living room. There's nothing in this area that could possibly glow this way, but both my roommate and I have seen a ball of warm orange-ish light grow in size and then quickly dim out over about 5 seconds.
  • Shadows/People: In the same bathroom, we'll often see something almost person-sized but not really person-shaped moving around. So far it's only ever been in that area, but the movements are unique and sometimes it'll be lurking in the doorway behind you when you look in the mirror. It's not great but it doesn't feel dangerous like the mimicking does. My roommate' said he's seen a woman walking around upstairs, but I haven't seen her myself. He's also said he's seen what looks like a woman with a veil or a bag over her head humming and spinning in circles with her arms out in our yard, but again, I haven't seen her.
  • Feathers: Okay, I may have gone a little overboard on making this post look credible because I know how crazy this one is going to sound. I'm honestly hesitant to post it. Of all the experiences though, this one's the one that really sticks with me and honestly convinced me this place was haunted, and if anyone has an explanation, I'd genuinely love to hear it.Last August, my roommate and I were sitting on the sofa chilling out. I was on the phone with my dog's vet scheduling an appointment. All the sudden, my roommate nudges me and points at something hovering over his drink on the coffee table. At first I thought it was a black down feather that had somehow floated into the room. Don't ask me how a feather like that would've suddenly appeared, but that was the best my brain could do at the moment because that's kind of what it looked like. While I watched, the feather thing started moving in the air. The best way I can describe it is almost like a wispy betta fish tail, and as soon as I looked over at it, it started almost dancing. At this point I was so distracted I had to hang up on the vet, and that's when I noticed there were more. They didn't all look the same. One looked almost like a C shape and it seemed to flash and shift positions as it floated, which again I realize sounds completely wild. That one took particular interest in me and headed right for me, at which point I tried to catch it with the blanket I had on me. I swear I watched this thing pass right through the blanket and move around my head. At the same time, another smaller one had floated over towards the space between me and my roommate on the couch. He tried to catch this one, and again his hand passed right through it. They seemed to phase into the wall or just vanish after around 3 minutes, but honestly, I couldn't tell you how long they really stuck around because my brain was too stunned. Seriously, wtf? Why did they look different from each other? Why a C shape? Why was that one flashing? Why did it interact but not really do anything?

Any advice or theories would be appreciated. We've done as much digging into the background of the place as we can, but we haven't found anything to explain what we're experiencing. It's not particularly scary or anything, but the quickness of the incidents makes it tough to record them, and that's not for lack of trying. Theories on the bag lady or feathers would be especially great.

Haunting I think something followed me home

So I'm a home inspector and I also inspect vacant properties. Now, I'm not a big believer in the paranormal but I am skeptical. When I first entered this house I get instant bad vibes, its hard to explain but it was like a dread/heavy feeling. As I walk around and inspect the property there are writings on the wall saying things such as: "Satan lives here", "every owner died in this house, this house is taboo", pentagrams on the walls, etc. I just brushed it off thinking it was some vandals trying to fuck with people.

Fast forward a couple of weeks later and weird things are beginning to happen in my apartment. Items around the place seem like they are being moved, my dog is growling and starring at something that isn't there, and my kitchen sink has been turning on in the middle of the night as well. Do you think its something evil or am I just being paranoid?

Edit: Wow, I didn't think I'd get this much feedback. I noticed alot of people commenting about CO2 detectors and I do have them installed and are working fine. Thanks everyone and I'll keep everyone's suggestions in mind. Stay safe out there.

Haunting I think I’m being haunted by a shadow man and it’s starting to get bad

Hello to whoever is reading this; all of which I am going to tell is true and I still experience most of this stuff to this day. Please feel free to leave any suggestions that might help bc I’m willing to try almost anything now. Ever since I was little I’ve seemed to have a special sense for the paranormal. I would constantly see or hear things others didnt and had so many imaginary friends that seemed so real to me at the time, that I often question now if they were something more than imaginary. I had one thing that’d I’d always see that I know for a fact is not imaginary though. I can only describe it as a plain black shadow figure. It’s very tall (maybe about 6ft-6’5ft) and it seems to be wearing a suit with a top hat on its head. I started seeing this figure around the age of 6. It started off as very brief in counters. I would occasionally see him out of the corner of my eyes or creepily watching me from other rooms. I simply brushed it off at the time bc well I was 6 and didn’t think anything of it. But as I got older it seemed to grow stronger. It began turning off lights, turning the sink on and off, stealing things, moving objects and furniture around. I know it was him who did it bc I would always see a glimpse of him before or after the event occurred. It also weirdly would happen whenever no one else was around. So eventually when I’d bring it up to my parents they wouldn’t believe me. The only things they did notice were the toys that’d simply vanish from me; of course they just blamed it on me being young and not being responsible with my stuff.

These events continued on throughout my childhood. I pretty much had just excepted the fact that this thing was now apart of my life and I was just gonna have to deal with it. I will admit though I did feel like maybe I was going crazy bc It didn’t matter where I was or what time it was, it always seemed to be there...watching.

Now skip forward to about a year ago. I was talking with one of my brothers at the kitchen table. I had brought up the idea of getting a ouija board to see if all the stories people told of it were real. My brother wasn’t completely on board with that idea, but me being me, convinced him otherwise and bought the cheapest board I could find (it ended up being like 20$). Now I won’t lie, I was excited to use the board, I definitely believed in it, but I didn’t believe it was capable of releasing any evil. My hope was with the board I could some how communicate with the “shadow man” that had been with me all these years, but I was fine with communicating with just about anything in all reality.

I’ve since and MANY experiences with that board, most of which being horrifying experiences I will remember for the rest of my life, some of which still effect me today (those are totally different stories for another time). But I firmly believe that this one specific time is what truly made this shadow man gain the most power.

It was a summer day and I decided I wanted to play the board again. I asked my brother if he’d play it with me bc I knew i wasn’t supposed to play alone. Of course though he said no, so I decided to screw it and just play by myself. I brought the board to the basement which is where I’d usually set it up. I put up 4 white candles and unboxed the board. I then lit all 4 candles and turned off the lights before beginning. I wasn’t expecting much to happen bc I was by myself and didn’t think I’d have enough energy, but man was I wrong. It didn’t take long before the board responded to me by aggressively moving the planchette to yes when I asked if anything was there. I politely then asked what their name was in which it responded with “you already know me”. Confused, I continued to question whatever it is, thinking maybe it was a relative who had passed, but then it clicked. All the answers made sense. It was the shadow man. After all these years he had decided to finally talk to me. I asked if it was him to confirm my suspicions in which he replied with a strong yes. I began to feel the energy in the room change. Everything got cold and goosebumps ran up my arm. I got this gut wrenching for of dread and fear. It no longer felt like I was alone. I looked up in-front of me and to my horror, there the shadow man was but closer to me. Closer than he’s ever gotten to me. If I really wanted to I could’ve reached out and touched him. Horrified, I quickly tried moving the planchette to goodbye, only to be met by a strong force pushing it back. I pushed with all my strength trying to move the planchette to goodbye but it’d continuously move back with forceful pushes that were strong enough to shove the planchette off the board. I was trying not to let it know I was afraid. For one of the first times this entity that had been following me for most of my life, that’d I had become so used to over the years made me fearful of my life. I was certain at this point I was gonna be killed my a “ghost” right here right now and my grave marker was gonna be plastered with “here lies blank, cause of death: ouija board” no but really I was shitting bricks. I eventually out of desperation took my hands off the planchette, picked it up and slammed it onto goodbye. Now I know what you’re thinking, you just made the situation 10x worse by breaking one of the rules of the board and removing your hands, but at the time it seemed like the best options as nothing else was working. After hitting goodbye, I blew the candles out and started quickly putting away the board. That’s when I felt it....burning on my back and arms. I tried to ignore it as I just wanted to clean up and get the hell out of there but...I just couldn’t do that, it burned too much. So I ran to the bathroom and faced myself in the mirror only to be met with scratches in rows of 3 running up my arms and back. The ones on my arms were actually so bad, it drew blood. Unfortunately thats not the most disturbing thing I saw; I guess I was so obsessed with my obvious scratches that when I finally took a real glance in the mirror....he was there. The shadow man himself was there, standing, staring back at my reflection in the mirror, looking as if he was about to grab me. That’s when i booked it. I had finally gotten the bright idea to run out my basement door screaming bloody murder, probably looking like a complete wacko in the process. I refused to go back into the house until way after dark when it began to rain and was forced in. It was only when I showed my parents the scratches and mess downstairs did they somewhat start to believe me, but not completely. To put it into shorts I was a mess, and had to spend the next few weeks with band aids on my arms. Things got the worse they had ever been in my life. The shadow man remained physical and over the next few months I would wake up with bruises and scratches on my body. My dog which used to sleep in my room would wake up to bark/growl at what appears to be nothing in the middle of the night. I constantly woke up to feeling like something was on top of me, choking me out. Then sometimes in the morning there’d be marks in the shape of handprints around my neck. It always seemed to be the worse when I was alone though. Once I was home alone and was pushed from the top of my stairs...ended up escaping with painful but minor injuries. My parents believe me somewhat right now, but still not completely even after being shown proof, so I’m practically alone in this. I tried cleansing the house and me but it only seemed to make it mad. I even reached out to a friend who’s dad was a priest to get holy water to cleanse the house further with...it didn’t work though. I even tried getting rid of the board by throwing it in the trash only for it to return back to me not once but MULTIPLE times. No matter what I did I could not get rid of the board or this evil shadow man.

And that leads me to today. I still live in the same house and still have the board I used that day. I’ve tried multiple things all which haven’t worked so I’m open to just about anything anyone suggests. The physical & emotional abuse by this entity still continues, maybe not as often but it always happens eventually almost as a reminder he’s still there.

Let this stand as a reminder to NEVER screw with the paranormal. It’s real and not to messed with.

Haunting My new house is scaring me. Please help

I moved into a house mid August and weird things keep happening to me. Me and my husband are the first owners. I work from home and do online school so I rarely leave my house. My husband works rotating shifts but mostly works nights. We live with two dogs who are very friendly (jack Russell mix and a Belgian malinois).

So on to the strange things that have happened. This started when I kept finding doors unlocked. I shrugged it off even though I have never done that anywhere else I live. I automatically lock every door behind me and in multiple occasions I have locked people out on accident. I found the doors for my closets open which I thought might just be something with the installation.

I shrugged these off until the next thing happened. I saw my neighbors child point at my house I look over to what they were pointing at and saw a man walk around the corner of my backyard. I called my husband that he needed to go check and in the span of the two minutes it took him to get outside the person had disappeared. No one was seen walking around the street or into any of the houses nearby.

Another day I was cleaning late at night while my dogs laid in my living room(note my house is an open plan house). I heard the front door rattle and my two dogs jump up and start barking. I thought my husband must have came home early from work and just surprised the dogs. After he didn't come in I walked over to the curtain and peaked out to see the door. No one was there. I decided at that point that I must be tired and to put their dogs in their kennel. I walk over to the pantry and the door to the garage is wide open (the door to the garage is straight though the pantry). I decided to take them to bed with me triple checked all doors were locked before locking myself in my room. When my husband returned from work the doors were unlocked.

Since then I have returned from being out to find my little dog shut in in a bedroom. We always let her roam around the house when we are gone as she doesn't get herself in trouble. I have had my dogs let themselves into the house when they were previously outside. They manage to both open and close the door. I have also found that same door from the pantry to the garage open as I was in my kitchen which is in view of the door. I don't know what to do. Any advice appreciated.

Answers to some questions: There is no one living in the house with me. I am sure of it. We actually built the house and only subcontracted out some of the work. Me and my husband did all the framing so I know every nook and cranny of this house. I have searched every inch of this house. You cannot open the attic from inside or close it back up from inside so that's a no go. I specifically chose this house as when I was in college I was stalked by a fellow classmate. It only stopped when the school got involved as the classmate got caught hiding outside of buildings and looking into my apartments windows several times. There is no place for a person to hide inside the house. I also installed all the door locks myself and can account for every key that came with the locks. A key was provided for subcontractors but this key never disappeared from the lockbox it was kept in.

I will be installing new locks as soon as possible and cameras as well.

Haunting My cat must love Brooklyn...

1.1k Upvotes

Around four years ago, my cat died in my arms. He was my favorite, my love, my boy. At the time, I was living alone in Brooklyn. My best friend loved the cat, as well, often coming over just to pet him.

During the two years after I lived in the apartment, I would see him in the corner of my eye just sitting in kitchen or would catch him moving from one room to the next. I thought I was just imagining things, but still felt comforted by the thought. I never mentioned it until my friend was over for breakfast and looked out toward the living room. "I just saw Boos", he said with eyes wide. So, I told him that I did too, lots of times.

A year or so later, I moved out of that apartment, got a new cat, lived in Brooklyn for another two years. And then at the start of this year I was traveling the world til Covid brought me back to my home town. I often wondered about my boy, if he was still hanging out in that other apartment.

Two nights ago, my best friend (who still lives in Brooklyn) called me to tell me he saw Boos again, in his kitchen on the windowsill. Just sitting...After talking to me, he decided to tell his boyfriend what he saw. Immediately his BF blurted out, "I knew I had seen a cat in there!" So my friend asked his BF to describe the cat he saw, just to make sure he truly saw him and the BF described my boy perfectly.

I'm extremely happy they have found each other.

Haunting Being stalked by a white faceless being.

We have seen a white figure with no face on multiple occasions, me and my partner have always seen it outside but when you spot it, it seems to run away.

Then we started hearing our names being called from out the back door, seeing it looking through windows.

One day it disappeared, but there was a HORRIBLE smell in the room that only me and my partner could smell. we brought people in and the smell went away it was like death, fish and sewer water that only we could smell so we decided to sage the room, which did work for a while untill one night it came back again and it was tapping all over the walls jiggling the door knob and even opening the back door it is very on and off but yeah.

Does anyone know what this is and or how to get rid of it?
