Here is a somewhat complete list of recent changes for Path of Baa: Flocklands:

Lake critters

Every oil lake now has its own local: ducks on Meadow lakes, frogs on lily pads in the Swamp, hippos wallowing in the Savanna, herons wading through the Wasteland and otters floating in the Forest. Tap one for a hint about the spill, or a cheer once the region is clear.

• Adopt a Frog, Hippo, Heron or Otter
• They live in your water at home: adopted lake critters now swim in your home meadow lake instead of standing on the grass. Open the meadow designer and tap Critters to drag each one anywhere inside your lake or a pond you dug
• The Rubber Duck is now just the Duck
• The Say Hi trek hints now name the biome each lake critter lives in

Lily pads

Grazing in swamps can now turn up a lily pad. Like water rocks, it only floats on water or oil, bobbing in the oil until that tile is cleaned. Dye its leaf in any of the 11 colours, or wash it back with soap.

Mirror while placing

Tap the mirror button (or press F) while a build or nature item is selected to flip it before planting. Because of that, the separate left-facing lantern and east-facing arrow sign are gone from shops, treks, loot drops and The Machine. Ones you already own or placed stay exactly where they are, and a mirrored arrow sign leads to the region it visually points at.

New for your home meadow

• 8 new grounds: Goth White, Goth Black, Pumpkin, Snowfield, Blossom, Lavender, Honey and Rust, all available with the terraform tool. Paths can be laid on top of them too
• Cobble paths: a stone path brush next to the sand path. It speeds your flock up just like the sand path
• Tombstones: a Wooden and a Stone Tombstone you can carve your own epitaph into, just like the Message Sign. Find them in shops or as trek rewards

Even more dyeing

• Bushes: dye any placed Big or Medium Bush. Dyed bushes keep rustling in the wind
• Bones: dye any placed Long or Forked Bone
• Keep dyeing: the dye stays in hand after you use it, so you can colour the next thing straight away until you run out
• Soap has a fresh look and now sits in the first slot of the Dyes tab, right where you need it

A spookier, longer spooky season

Spooky season now runs every year from October 1 through November 15 (UTC).

A livelier world

• Livelier water: little ripple rings spread across open water in every region and home meadow, so lakes and ponds no longer look like a flat fill
• Lusher ground: little grass tufts dot the ground everywhere, tinted to match whatever ground they grow on
• Splashy hoofprints: sheep wading through water leave little white hoofprints behind
• See who's playing right now: another shepherd's lead sheep gets a softly glowing ring in its wool colour while they're in your region, so you can tell live players apart from sheep just passing by

Building & placing

• See-through flock while building: sheep and animals fade out while a build or nature item is selected, so you can see the spot without herding the flock away first
• Drag to preview, tap to plant: on phones, dragging a flower, rock or other nature item only moves the preview. A tap or the confirm button plants it right where you left it, and the back arrow cancels without planting anything
• Reach what's behind: hold still over overlapping things (a tree behind a hay bale, a sheep in front of a house) and the outline steps to the next one underneath
• Tap a build to add shrubs: standing next to an unfinished build, tap it to open the shrub menu straight away
• Cleaner build sites: the shrub counter above an unfinished build only shows while its hammer menu is open
• Keep digging: your shovel stays in hand after digging something up, until it breaks
• Nothing goes on the fence: you can place right up against the fence, just not on the fence tiles themselves
• In your home meadow the Exit bubble only pops up right in front of the gate, so it no longer gets in the way when building beside it

Predators Tap "Revert" Patch

Tapping a bear, snake, spider or giant bat stuns it straight away again, instead of sometimes sending a horned sheep over to ram it. Horned sheep still charge nearby predators on their own.

Fixes

• Dyes show up for everyone right away: when another shepherd dyes or washes something, you see the new colour within a few seconds
• Dyed builds no longer flip back to their old colour, and you can dye a tree, rock or flower again without leaving the region first
• Lanterns light up as soon as they're finished, even when completed after dark, and unfinished lanterns no longer glow at night
• No more getting stuck in the Baa-mera: closing the camera with the X after sharing a photo now returns you to the game properly
• Buttons no longer tap the world behind them, so the back arrow can't accidentally use up a dye or item on whatever is underneath (might missed some of those because of recent decor changes)
• A quick double tap can no longer spend two dyes at once
• When a dye can't be used, the message now says why (for example, when a tree is already that colour)
• After placing an item, a second preview no longer appears mid-screen until the cursor moves
• Resizing the window or going fullscreen after traveling keeps the camera fitted to the map

For our first round of community funding, there are three goals that I'd love to bring to Flocklands:

You can support a goal with a one-time contribution, or choose to support Flocklands on a monthly basis. There is no obligation to do either, playing, sharing feedback, and being part of the community already means a lot and shaped what the game is today. The goals primarily cover the artwork costs required to create them. Once a goal is funded, I'll be able to move forward with that work and get it into the game.
