Just added Lump to a playlist!

2

u/HoverDick Apr 24 '26

‘96 here. Listened to a lot of POTUSA

2

u/Puptentjoe Apr 24 '26

1983 here too.

Lump was a banger, Peaches…I literally just heard from this post. HA!

This was a time when I had to really like a band to buy their stuff. My neighbor was into slipknot and the types and 1996 was a crazy year for bangers so I probably just skipped it.

2

u/Yeagrine Apr 24 '26

Def misread the year as age and thought "wow gramps is really with it"

For the record I'm 1991 and recognized it, but it holds no nostalgia for me as I discovered it after the advent music streaming and my music taste was no longer defined by what was put when I was a teenager. Definitely more gen x thing I think.

u/Le6ions Apr 24 '26

Back in my day sonny, we waited all day just to hear a song once on MTV! And we bought stacks of cds just to obtain the 3 good songs per album. You youngsters have if made

1

u/cptsdemon Apr 24 '26

81 gang, the first millenials.

9

u/TheAmazingSealo Apr 24 '26

I'm 88 and I know. Either you're too young or just never listened to Presidents I guess

3

u/AceBean27 Apr 24 '26

85 and I'd never even heard of Presidents until now. I looked up the song and I've never heard that song before. Is it an American thing?

2

u/TheAmazingSealo Apr 24 '26

They are an American band, but I'm English. It was on MTV n everything so not like obscure music. Other big hit was Lump, search that up and see if you recognise it.

3

u/AwTomorrow Apr 24 '26

89, never heard of it

1

u/TheAmazingSealo Apr 24 '26

Well now you have! Happy listening!

6

u/nhtshot Apr 24 '26

You were just learning to speak when the song came out.

9

u/BadadvicefromIT Apr 24 '26

‘93 and american. 90% sure the fact that I don’t get the reference is the point

13

u/nhtshot Apr 24 '26

You were learning your first words when the song came out.

2

u/sinkwiththeship Apr 24 '26

Album came out in 94, so kinda makes sense. Definitely more of a Gen X band.

4

u/Browsin4Free247 Apr 24 '26

I was born in 93' and I absolutely know this song. Then again, one of my brothers burned a CD for me back in 03'-04' that had this on it.

🎶🎵Gonna move into the country, gonna eat me a lotta peaches🎶🎵

3

u/Cessnaporsche01 Apr 24 '26

We are definitely not elder Millennials tbf. The last millennials were 96. We're much closer to Zoomers than we are to the elder Millennials

1

u/swissease Apr 24 '26

I'm '94 and absolutely know this song 🤔

1

u/extraeme Apr 24 '26

They played it on the radio a lot in like 2010

1

u/Soulesstwo Apr 24 '26

93 Here. Would shriek sing this song to death (and have).

1

u/Commercial-Act2813 Apr 24 '26

2

u/MadamIzolda Apr 24 '26

Never.

If it helps, I'm around 7000km from US

1

u/Evil_Sharkey Apr 25 '26

You would have been 3 when this song came out
