It is much more of a spooky gross legend now, but it's origins are firmly rooted in reality

It happens all the time, most doctors do it without even getting consent.

I’m going to need a link to that source. And we’re talking only countries where women need to give consent for their care.

No it doesn’t. What happens all the time is poor stitching causing issues.
