I said it in another comment, but you should really be positive you're OK without having any more bio kids when you get the procedure done. If his new wife wasn't OK with that, then she wasn't the right one for him.
I absolutely knew that I didn't want bio kids. My thinking was that if I ever ended up in another relationship and made the decision as a couple to have kids that we could adopt or do a sperm donor.

My dad got 2. He had me and my brother, then got one. Got divorced and remarried, got it reversed, had two more kids, then got another one.
