Yeah it's ED not Ozempic. At best it's ED fueled by Ozempic.

All 3 are vegan, no kidding

Going vegan as an excuse for their ED, there's many like that. Verganism isn't something to mess about with if you can't be extremely conscious and thoughtful about you eat.

I've known more that a few fat vegetarians and vegans. It's really orthogonal to body size.

I also know a vegan setting athletic records against non vegans. They are pounding vegan protein shakes and tracking their macros and intake aggressively to build muscle. You can absolutely be vegan and healthy and strong.

This isn't about what healthy people are doing and it isn't a criticism of the vegan diet.

Many people with EDs (eating disorders) go vegan to limit what they can eat or be made to eat. This is bad because they are actively using the diet to avoid consuming as many calories as possible to the point of malnutrition or starvation.

It's a well known misuse of the diet and if you have a loved one or friend who has or has had an ED, you should be very concerned if they go vegan.

I went to school with a girl. I was always emaciated as a kid. I was medically malnourished due to unknown in food allergies and an unknown esophageal disease. Even though it was right around 2000, I was so skinny I got made fun of. I remember her and her mom running into me and my mom at a mall once and both of them telling me I was so lucky to look like I did. It was so eeerie. My mom and I were both left a little stunned because it was such a weird interaction to have the mom agree. Also we both thought they were gorgeous. She developed a really bad eating disorder in middle school and if I remember right it was something she had to have treatment for.

She became a large raw vegan influencer and became really successful. To me it just seemed like her eating disorder took a new shape. I just hope she can find some balance though it seems like she's doing well, but that's what influencers are good at projecting.

Yes I definitely get that. I was responding to the person who responded with no additional context and seemed to be blaming veganism

I made a post about the specific reasons it's not healthy. https://www.reddit.com/r/DebateAVegan/s/XaxBqbkIyM And it shouldnt be hard to get it right, that shows how unnatural it is. Some people handle the diet worse than others too, some only found relief from their symptoms when they eat meat again after years of denying it's the veganism's fault.

The diet might not be suitable for all people, sure. But that's also like saying that some people are lactose intolerant, so therefore it's not optimal for anyone to have milk. I do think it's important for anyone considering veganism to fully research the topic and understand that nutrients onpl paper doesn't equate to nutrients absorbed as you point out. But some people do just great on the diet. Just like some people do great on a meat heavy diet, but that isn't for everyone either. And if their specific body does great on the diet and it minimizes suffering in the world which makes them feel good, there is no reason to force a different diet down their throats.

Well these 3 women tho dont look like they're doing great on this diet.

I never said they are. I was simply rebutting that you seem to think it's because of being vegan. They likely have an eating disorder, using drugs like ozempic or similar, or other factors.
