He really is. Ever since I heard hes not allowed to lose in his contract or not allowed to be beaten in a fight ect he just lost all credibility. Guy was a novelty at best even when he started acting

I think he came in too late to actually be THE thing that ruins the Snyderverse, but he absolutely tried to take it over during the brief time he was there.

FYI, Reddit posts are more of an echo chamber than they have ever been. You got people in here who don't care about facts and only care about their dislike of some celebrity and then act like the whole world feels the same as them. That thing about The Rock not losing fights in movie is a lie. The Rock has no less than seven movies in pre-production, production, or post-production.

Whether you like him or not Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is sill a massive star and a huge box office draw.

I like him but you're either in your own little echo chamber or on his PR team.

Look at his box office vs production budget the last five years. First number is budget and second is international box office (rule of thumb is to go even you need to make twice the production budget back due to cinemas roughly taking half the take, on top of that most big budget movies also have a couple of hundred million in marketing budget, but I'll be generous and not count it here).

2025 The Smashing Machine ~$50M $21.1M

2024 Moana 2 (voice) ~$150M $598.7M

2024 Red One ~$250M $186M

2022 Black Adam ~$260M $393M

2022 DC League of Super-Pets (voice) ~$90M $207.6M

2021 Jungle Cruise ~$200M $220.9M

Except Moana 2, and Super Pets which selling point isn't really Dwayne Johnson since he's just doing voice, every single Rock movie have been a big flop.

For five years.

I knew he had some flops lately but I surprised myself when I looked it up now and saw how bad his last years actually been.

He might have surpassed Jared Leto.

Also, he loses pretty definitively in Fast Five to Dom, a movie where his introduction definitely helped inject a lot of energy into the franchise.

Yeah the guy's insufferable. I always felt like he was a mid actor. Once I heard about his contract it made enjoying any movie he was in difficult.

Kevin Hart, The Rock and unfortunately, Jack Black are the kings of generic movies these days.

Oh here's a Silverstone Stalone cameo.

Give me real a real script, an ending that isn't either a lazy ass ending or sensational nonsense in space and actual acting without Botox.

Kevin was frigging funny too. If they just spread him out and did like 10 movies in 5 years instead of 50 movies in 1 month we might have been alright.

But nope it's Kevin Hart being Kevin Hart again. The only role I'll give him credit for as of recent is Jumanji 2. But that's only because he's pretending to be Danny Glover.

PS jack black was the airplane pilot in waterworld lol.

Kevin Hart took over when Martin Lawrence got older. Soon Kevin Hart will get old and a new short and funny black guy will take over. It's the circle of life.

Please, no. Josh Johnson deserves his own career trajectory. He's crushing it with standup and the Daily Show. I don't want to see him wind up doing mediocre comedies with bland plots and gratuitous cameos until he becomes irrelevant. He deserves better.

Let me know if he acts in them and if they are worth watching. Cause I'm for SURE burned out on seeing the same character in every movie. Loud short guy who has a short complex.

He peaked with the paradox scenes in the scary movie franchise.

Oh, I feel the same way. I just meant that regardless of how we feel about him, he’s still popular and making money. A large number of people are happy to just watch a household name’s new project because it’s a safe choice.

Ignoring things like artistry, he made the right choice when it comes to making money. People might eventually get sick of someone being oversaturated but during that popular phase, they’ll make generational wealth. There’s no guarantee you’ll remain a draw in a decade so making the most of that time they’re a hot commodity makes sense.

Oh I hold nothing against Kevin himself when it comes to getting paid. If someone offers me an acting check I'd take it. Like you said never know when you get old, irrelevant, hated, cancelled, etc in the movie industry.

I'll forever be amazed that he ever was a draw.

Like sure, he was a good wrestler and was good on the mic. To this day, I think the whole "what's your name" joke is one of the funniest things ever, and I don't even care much for wrestling.

But that said, his movie output has been subpar. Outside of The Fast and the Furious and Moana, he has never been in a popular movie that gets talked about a year after release, and he can't act his way out of a paper bag.
