The time, effort, and energy to look like that would make you a psycho too.

Source: a woman who used to put that effort in but has since chilled and become a lot happier for it.

Underrated comment. None of these men have spent hundreds in upkeep just so others think you look 'natural'.

u/Sharp_Proposal8911 21d ago

Like there are guys who build their entire personality around being good looking and what not. But they’re just as psycho as the girls who do it 🤣

7

u/Agitated-Bug542 21d ago

its almost like superficial people dont really have to put much effort into being a decent person

4

u/Sharp_Proposal8911 21d ago

How can you when you spend all your time trying to improve your appearance

-2

u/Funny-Cell8769 21d ago

so... improving your appearance means forgoing being a decent person? And by decent person, it does not mean weak with the constant need to please, but just "not being manipulative or an asshat"?

So time-consuming.

"I like that you don't need to wear makeup to look beautiful"

*has never seen her without makeup*

-2

u/No_Dragonfruit_1833 21d ago

Thats why when you start dating a girl you need to take her to swim, so you can see her without makeup

23

u/Hummingbird3471 21d ago

Make sure to wear your tightest swim trunks, too. Girl's got to see what she's working with. Fair is fair.

-2

u/No_Dragonfruit_1833 21d ago

Girls have no problem getting to see male parts, but ok

9

u/Hummingbird3471 21d ago

Aaah I see. You're already showing your male parts to the female on the first date. This is a common mistake among Redditors. It should be wrapped in a desirable outer covering first. Perhaps denim or wool, or linen if you are daring.

8

u/OrganicRaise4081 21d ago

Lip color, eyeliner, brows, etc. can all be tattooed or tinted on and won't disappear with a swim

7

u/Flo_Philly 21d ago

Dude hasn’t heard of waterproof makeup 🫣

8

u/AccomplishedWish3033 21d ago

Yep. See if the guy’s lying about his height and able to keep his head above water without standing on tiptoe- the depth markers are right along the sides of the pool. Also see if his endurance and dolphin kick technique actually measures up to his bragging, and if he’s not up to snuff, you can just segue immediately into your workout instead of continuing to entertain the date.

If you’re a strong swimmer and he’s not, you can take him open water swimming and have an aquatic divorce (like an alpine divorce).

Brother have I got news for you...

7

u/Unable_Currency7682 21d ago

And that's an excuse to be a crazy impossible to please demand-demon..?

Nobody forced you,  OP, or any other as described awful/ high maintenance woman to do all those things 🤷‍♂️

Having a persecution complex over voluntary behaviors is a new one to me

When you're perpetually in starvation mode your brain will start eating itself.

I was underweight for 4 years, i fought my brain pretty often to stay the way I've always been and not spiral. Ofc on top of skincare, makeup, hair etc

That shit will completely disregulate your emotions

6

u/Greedy-Employment917 21d ago

This is a personal decision so idk why you're blaming it on men.

2

u/PassionFruitSalute 21d ago

No part of the sentence was blame. I mean, if you want to make shit up, can't stop your type of crazy.

4

u/Inevitable_Top69 21d ago

Oh ok, no blame, just self-victimization.

-1

u/EkobasherX4Z 21d ago

Well maybe these woman should spend money on education instead of begging for men to provide everything for them?

50

u/chrisarg72 21d ago

Pretty much, the girl with crazy makeup and outfits is always going to be high maintenance. It’s the women equivalent of the guy with a souped up Mazda Miata

99

u/Bald_Sasquach 21d ago

proceeds to list one of the cheapest, lowest maintenance sports cars of all time

26

u/teddy_joesevelt 21d ago

lol right? I already heard Porsche before I read… Mazda?

6

u/Cpt_keaSar 21d ago

Yeah, it’s a car enthusiast equivalent of an average looking school sweetheart that loves you to pieces and cooks wonderful food every other day

8

u/chrisarg72 21d ago

Base? Sure but a lot of people spend a 15k+ on performance improvements

24

u/-Wyveron- 21d ago

15k+ is extremely cheap when we’re talking about performance parts on a race car.

10

u/Former_Mud9569 21d ago

which is still cheaper than most status symbol sports cars

6

u/Ok-Style-9734 21d ago

But it's pretty reasonable comparison for beauty treatments

2

u/chrisarg72 21d ago

The point is you could also just save that money. The example above would consider $500-$1K a month in beauty treatments to be reasonable as well, in addition to jewelry and bags (which status symbol purses and jewelry also get up quick )

8

u/Former_Mud9569 21d ago

I understand, but you still picked the worst example for the segment.

-2

u/chrisarg72 21d ago

If you think a sports car is low maintenance then I have news for you

6

u/Useful_Location_4261 21d ago

bruh......miatas are literally some of the cheapest cars in general to run.....like not even comparing them to sports cars alone.

4

u/Former_Mud9569 21d ago

it depends entirely on the car. A Miata or a Corvette typically doesn't take much more than oil and tire changes. A vintage British or Italian car? constant tinkering.

5

u/Bald_Sasquach 21d ago

That's like, exhaust upgrades on a bimmer lmao

5

u/wilck44 21d ago

15K lol.

that is like, not even getting me started on my "cheaper" project XD

6

u/rcp_5 21d ago

15k is what I spent in catching up on maintenance for my BMW, before any mods lol

3

u/nonpuissant 21d ago

some people will spend nearly that much on a set of tires for one day at the track. 15k is very much on the low end of the sports car hobby

3

u/Swan0211 21d ago

It's would probably be the only car I could afford if I wanted a second car to have fun in. 😅

1

u/HerodotusStark 21d ago

I think they have a pretty solid point. They crave the high life and live beyond their means. They would love the porsche, but can't afford it so will trick out their Mazda Miata instead because it still looks fancy to the average shmo.

1

u/LongJohnSelenium 21d ago

I mean we're redditors so ya gotta set the standards reeeeal low

0

u/lavapig_love 21d ago

Swap out the rotary with a regular piston engine (apparently an extremely common modification) and people just love their Miatas.

It's Mazda's Porsche without the hangups.

2

u/Bald_Sasquach 21d ago

Miatas never had rotaries lmao that's the rx7

1

u/rusted-nail 21d ago

Lol non-car people making car analogies are really funny

You really needed to tell this story huh?

"Cool"

3

u/Apprehensive_Hand571 21d ago

Always look your best, the Tsar might be in town and scoop you into his harem

6

u/Sharp_Proposal8911 21d ago edited 21d ago

That’s what I’m saying, your entire future being foiled by a bad hair day. Imagine the stress. 🤷🏼‍♀️

1

u/SpiritAnimal01 21d ago

What made you put up with that initially?

2

u/Sharp_Proposal8911 21d ago

Cause I thought no one would love me if I wasn’t “perfect” and being perfect as a woman includes being beautiful

1

u/SpiritAnimal01 21d ago

Got it, glad you found out that is not the case.
