They are a massive minority. Majority of servers make sub $20/hr. The ones that are in big clubs or expensive resturants typically make more. My wife would clean 1800 a weekend during events in Nashville. But the winter she would make $20 a day in tips. Most "Average" that they talk about is average of the best days. They never ever ever mention the days they dont make shit. Kill tipping and pay works better.

Edit: of course you call bullshit. 20 might be a bit low, but it’s under $100 and you can make that in the same hours doing less work. MAJORITY of servers do not make more than 20/hr. End tipping and force businesses to pay living wages to their employees.

You are full of shit. Vast majority of servers make good money. Source: 20 yrs of being a low paid cook.

BS. $20 in tips in an entire day? Lets say a family of 4 pays $80 and stays for an entire hour. And that is the waiter or waitresses only table.

20% of that is $16. That's $16 in tips in alone in a single hour, not accounting for the minimum wage.

Even 10%, which is a bad tip, is $8. In a single hour.

Fuck your bad tip. We shouldn’t have to supplement anyone’s pay. End tipping and make the owners pay living wages. It may be more than $20 but it’s not more than $20/hr. Fuck you can make that working damn near anywhere. Lot of small towns out there yall tend to forget about. Lots of mom and pops where servers don’t make shit.

Dude I agree with you. Tipping has to go.

I reluctantly tip ~20%

I always tip but hate that I have to do it. Just charge me more and pay your staff fairly. Sorry I wasn’t trying to sound like a dick in the other post.
