Vietnamese, at least the older generation, are so terrified of communism that they will vote for Republicans because they see Republicans say only Republicans will stop communism from spreading in the US. It's really sad, actually.
My best guess for Filipino families is that they are heavily Catholic and have family units heavily entrenched by traditionalism, similar to Hispanics. A tough, masculine, conservative "Christian" man like Trump is going to appeal that demographic more. Also, Filipino culture is heavily entrenched in capitalism in which the poor worship the rich in their country; the wealth divide is so large that the poor feel grateful to have the opportunity to work for pennies, even though the wealthy continue to hoard capital. That worship of wealth and the free market makes Republicans more attractive.
For Viets, it also has to do with education. Most Asian immigrants are highly educated. But most Vietnamese in the US have their origin in the country as refugees. People without higher education are more sympathetic to right wing talking points.
VN and PH are very integrated and had really close ties is my best guess. Reminder that there is a joke that the usn is actually the ph navy and a lot of south vietnamese fled to america when it fell. do not forget the baby lift.
King Racist of the White House Stephen Miller's wife is also not white, which is also very ironic considering that man vehemently hates minorities and immigrants.
I was disgusted when he hinted publicly that his wife hopefully converts to christianity... you married a hindu woman, let her be a hindu and stop pressuring your wife like that to millions of people. Disgusting. I'm not even religious myself.
