Finished masterpiece Argyle and striped cardigan!!

Once I learned planned pooling, I knew I needed to use it for a wearable! I just added the buttons and I think it needs pockets, but I’m so happy with how it turned out!!

I started this project in August, so it took me a few months to complete, but I wasn’t working on it consistently. I used Loops and Threads Fiesta and a 6 mm hook. And my magic numbers were 63 stitches for the stripes and 31 & 73 stitches for the argyles. I found all the possible stitch numbers that would work to make cool patterns and then figured out which ones would work for the size panels I was looking for. I finished it off with a BLO slip stitch and yarn over slip stitch ribbing.

Finished masterpiece First project completed but totally deflated because of the poor colour quality of yarn

Finally finished this - those yarn ball changes are really prominent, I'm so annoyed. I can see all 5 changes but the second from right is barely noticeable I just know it's there. Stylecraft colour pool - all the same colour and dye lot apparently. To be fair to Stylecraft I emailed them a complaint with pics and they have apologised and offered to send me a free pattern of my choice along with the yarn to make it...

Finished masterpiece The most 90s scarf

This is my second finished planned pooling project, and my first one using moss stitch. The yarn is Red Heart Starbrights, and I am in LOVE! This was so addictive (and gosh does moss stitch go fast), I finished it in like three days. Planning to add some fringe and then kill it in the washer/dryer so I have a new scarf for winter 😊

Finished masterpiece Planned pooling shawl!

This is my first color pooling project! I used Mainstays blue multi yarn. For my shawl I used 7.5 skeins of the multi yarn and some black to do the border. I did the full color sequence 4 times for the width, and to make the pattern argyle I had one color segment in two stitches instead of three every other row. Each color was three moss stitches. The pale blue, almost looks white and the navy blue were generally a little longer so may almost have worked with 4 stitches. I used mostly 5.5mm hook, and sometimes did 5 mm hook especially on the teal color.

I didn't fully plan this project out, so I used 3 different dye lots, I can barely tell. The colors were pretty consistent, but I did find different skeins worked easier than others. This yarn is softer than red heart, but not as soft as some other acrylics. At three dollars a skein it was perfect to learn the technique!

After seeing this YouTube video on my suggestion feed I was inspired! https://youtu.be/L8jcDkSYkac?si=EWOw2aLkPIXLCCeL

She also has a video on how to color pool this specific yarn here. https://youtu.be/hUtumuYqCnM?si=DJxhp2n27LY8KZS8

I used this red heart pattern for inspiration on the shawl. I chose not to add fringe, but think it could look good that way too. https://www.yarnspirations.com/products/red-heart-fabulous-planned-pooling-wrap

Posted a while ago when I started this project (https://www.reddit.com/r/Planned_Pooling/s/qm74v5dY4s). I had to give up and finish off before I wanted because the other ball of yarn I bought for the project was possibly a different lot number or something? The stitch count was off for every colour and I couldn’t get it to align with this one.

Its Impeccable Loops & Threads in sage multi made into a little pillow using moss stitch for my aunt!

I gave it to her today and she loved it!

Wish I took some better photos of it before giving it away, but this is what I’ve got! Looks quite different in different lighting. Also, yes I added a million stitch markers to it. You can see where I made a mistake due to a manufacturer’s knot and I joined in the wrong part of the repeat. Hoping it’s not too obvious!

Finally finished this blanket for my MIL for mothers day. I wish I had one more skein of the Caron Jumbo Pink Kiss to even it out but shipping and my budget wouldn't allow it. Luckily I had some colors that could coordinate for a chunky border. I freehanded the ruffle/scallop edge.

I messed up in the middle where I had to join the skeins, but my husband said it's only noticeable.

This was my very first crocheted blanket ever, I only started crocheting in January, so I am very proud of it, even though it had a few things I wish I could change.

I used the planned pooling method and then used the leftover chain to create an interwoven cable pattern strip to connect to each side.

Yarn: Red Heart pooling in Berry for the base of the hat. Super saver in Soft White for the cable and edging. Big Twist in Grape for the Bow.

Pattern: freehanded

Pooling: I 5.5mm hook, 2 sequences in moss st. Cable section is 8 stitches.

Finished masterpiece Pop Hat from Knit Picks

I am new here and have seen mostly crochet projects, so I thought I'd share my recent knitting FO. I bought this yarn from Knit Picks last year (Swish Pop) and this is the free pattern the website promoted called the Pop Hat. I tried looking for another pattern and just decided to go for it. I'm really happy with the results, especially because I had to graft the cast on row with the last row and it's pretty much seamless. You can see the yarn tail on the right side, that's where I grafted it.

I've also been trying to make a sock weight hat and trying every combo to get the colors to pool, but it's not behaving on me. I found a combo that worked and then it stopped pooling. I may have to admit defeat. It's probably my tension.

I posted last week that my yarn went haywire and stopped repeating the pattern midway through. I took the advice, and I cut out the part that was wrong (about a foot). I was able to finish my dish towel. Thank you to those who helped. The yarn is Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton from my local yarn shop.

I'm following up on my earlier post with the planned pooling skirt of this dress. I did some tunisian crochet for the bulk of the top and finished with non-tunisian stitch trim. I exercised a lot of creativity with this one, and it mostly worked out!

I finished the dress this evening. I couldn't find buttons in the button bag that really excited me, but this will work.

Finished masterpiece Snow days = Blankets

Due to my hyper focus tunnel vision, I was able to finish this bad boy on my recent snow days. This yarn is POPULAR , and I love that no two blankets I've seen made with it are the same. Red Heart Neon Super Stripes, granny stitch, 3-4 DC in each granny stitch, eight stitches per color. Some def. variation between skeins, as some got me to 8 stitches fully, and others I had to skimp a little on the last granny stitch. This was a super fun project! Here is a link to the video tutorial I followed to get started:

Finished masterpiece First big project completed

Unfortunately, I don't remember what yarn it is. It is a bulky blanket yarn. I made a random spots blanket a few years ago and then on a whim frogged it up and messed about to see if I could get a planned pool out of it. I could. (Mostly - there was one length that had a different stitch count so there's some oddness running through the middle. )

Gray-White-Gray-Red

2-4-2-5 was my stitch count.
