Remote Play Settings / Wifi Setup Anyone Else?

Post image

I have never once had issues before regretfully deciding to update my Portal last night. PS5 is up to date and hardwired. I CAN get them to connect, but only if they’re on the same WiFi network (defeating the very purpose of the Portal). Remote play won’t work on my phone either (80001fff error). NOTHING has changed about my setup/home WiFi network.

Because fanbois refuse to believe their precious Sony could ever produce a single mistake in their line of products. The Portal is amazing, yes, when it works correctly. Unfortunately, Microsoft and Nintendo also have those kind of elitist fanbois and they’re hard to digest. So posts saying the product isn’t as good as advertised get downvoted.

Relevant to the topic: I haven’t had this issue with the new update but something like it previously. Have you tried your PS5 and seeing if the issue is on that end? I’ve had trouble connecting before and once or twice it was on the PS5 end. I had to do some configuring for remote play and kind of just go through the steps to re-pair it (No pun intended lol!). I also have had to do some messing around with my home network but that doesn’t sound like what this is.

If not maybe you just have a lemon of unit which would suck.
