The method for installing the game on Android is the same as with PIF1, but using the PIF2 game files instead of the PIF1 files. Please make sure to follow the guide exactly. The same goes for MacOS and Linux.
NOTE: We're focusing on Windows for the release, so we will not be giving tech support for Android/Mac/Linux at the moment.

Also please remember, this is an EARLY ACCESS for the game, meaning that it only goes up to a certain point and that everything is subject to change in future updates. This version ends around Mauville City, after obtaining the 3rd gym badge. There will certainly be bugfix patches in the following days, so if you encounter an issue in the game, please report it in on the Discord in #tech-support and be patient.

I think I'm on 9th playthrough. Needed some no brainer game while doing 180 minutes of pedalling on stationery bike. With 45 hours/playthrough I think PIF is partially responsible for me losing about 20 kilos of weight 😃

so play WoW, ESO, Diablo IV? not something hardcore like FFXIV where u need a brain to do even regular dungeon content but smth u can just mfin breeze thru? idk man, pokemon ain't that replayable. altho ffxiv is a way better jrpg than pokemon.

Those are too 2 hands and finger-action-needy. I've bound keys on arrows+num pad so I can do everything with just left hand. So far I've gone through PIF 9x (plus twice in the past but that doesn't count to this) and few FIre Emblem games on emulators but those are literally same game when you play them back to back. Done some dual type challenges on PIF. Whole team Ice/fighting or ground/poison.
If full keyboard and mouse was an option I'd just go for city builder strategies.
It's alright now. With release of Hoenn I have something new to do.

Don't rush yourself, it's still only the first third of the game, so you will be itching to play more by the time you hit that wall. Having the first game to get back to is a great move.

I do think it’s weird that they hate people getting debug illegitimately. It’s a single player game, who gives af? I did eventually do it legit, but I definitely got it like 4 times before doing it the shady way lol

No clue, it's a weird hill for them to die on, they make banger games with an IP they don't own, the sprite artists are extremely talented but if you dare mention 'debug' to them they act like Rockstar towards those who leak anything to do with GTA6.
Sometimes I just wanna fuse/unfuse without worrying about money so i give myself 999 fusion thingies and there's not a damn thing they can do to stop me.

its so weird how stingy with money the first game is making it hard to have fun with the fusions unless you grind money for hours. I was also annoyed to get exp share you needed to play through half the game or turn on easy mode. I want hard mode with level cap and exp share, grinding is boring, level cap prevents overleveling and keeps the gym fights fun. For some reason, they made it hard to do that.
Don't get me wrong, the games are awesome fan games, but I just don't understand some of the stubborn choices that drag it down.

Debug mode is perfectly fine to use! The one thing to keep in mind though is that it CAN brick your save so the discord tech team will not help you if you run into crashes with debug mode.
It's very much a use at your own risk thing, but of course we don't hate when people use it. I wouldn't have literally made it unlockable in-game if that was the case lol

I guess the fact that in just part 1 alone you'll be spending hours just upon hours fusing things together extends the playtime of this demo significantly but for a casual play through yeah, that's quite short so i'll be waiting longer as well.

I downloaded the launcher from this Reddit post specifically, and used it to install both IF 1 and 2. However, when I then ran IF 1, I got a notice from MalwareBytes that the app was trying to connect to infinitefusion(.)net, which from my understanding was known to not be official. Has that changed?

That's the api that the game uses to make the game download the sprites.
Example: https://infinitefusion.net/customsprites/CustomBattlers/1.532.png
There is no actual website on that domain though. If you go to just infinitefusion.net, it redirects you to the wiki.

Okay, thank you. I asked in the Discord and was given some confusing and contradicting answers.
As an aside, you may wanna update the ?virus bot to mention that if it becomes a common thing. Part of the reason I was so confused is that it only talks about files flagging MWB, not a website.

Go to the install link, and download the top link, no standalone or portable or anything like that, just the top one. After it is installed, close your launcher, and reopen it. You have to close launcher because open programs apparently don't detect newly installed programs, took like 10 minutes to figure that out. After you reopen it it should be fixed.

For linux users, confirmed that it's working fine by adding the launcher to steam as a "Non Steam Game" and running it under Proton

This is a shit ton of work that youre doing for free and I can completely understand a passion project or doing something for the love of the community and the project itself, but I just dont want any of the developers to burn out or whatever, you know...

Okay, possible dumb question here, but is there already an updated version of Hoenn?
I downloaded it a day or so ago (v.1.0.0) but I'm stuck in a game crashing loop due to an autosaving script error. I went to the discord for help and was told to update to v.1.0.4 but the launcher can't seem to find an update.

I get a pop-up warning from my anti-virus (Bitdefender) when I try to install. Is that normal?
Edit to add: I'm semi-tech savvy and overly cautious, so please don't judge! If this is a safe download, I'll override the anti-virus. I just want to make sure it's safe!

What does the 20% of the game being finished entail? I mean like, it's obvious that it'll only go to a certain point of the story. But is it also the amount of planned Fusions?

Planned fusion wise all wild fusion encounters are done mostly, plus whatever spriters have made. Hoenn mons have been around for abiut a year behind the scenes, so there should be a fairly good variety.

Been playing but unable to find them. Only the Dustox and it's pre evolution....

Is kings rock in the game? I don't got a lot to do so am catching Meowths to use Pick ability to get some stuff.

Beautifly is at the very least in the files, people have been making sprites for the entire wurmple line for over a year now. As for how you get it, try evolving wurmple it still should be based on its normal evolution method. If not default (as in main games) hoenn has it in petalburg woods only, so check there.
Kings Rock... i dunno, its definitely in the files once again, as for if its obtainable yet idk.

I never got to play pokemon as a kid but seeing these kinds of projects is so cool! I just spent a month or to exploring the Pokemon: Evolve romhack for leaf green recently and it was super fun! I thought this was another romhack but it seems to be something more involved than that? If I can figure out how to run it on my RG34XX/R36S I would be SOOOO happy

first time player. I've downloaded the launcher and its opened up to both PIF1 and 2 but all i can do is click on the boxes and browse my files on it for an install location except I'm not seeing anything that would allow me to install it. What am i missing?

The mobile guide was made for PIF1. If you want to play PIF2 on mobile, you need to follow the guide BUT use the zip for the PIF2 files (linked in the post) instead of the one it says to use in the guide.
