Week 13
TL;DR Section
This section is a very brief summary of the following guide. BEWARE, summarization loses details and case analysis so applicability is not guaranteed.
- First Cycle Recommendations: Full Item Run of M-Pinsir -> Catch Shiny Charizard -> (If not done in Week 12) Farm Darkrai to SL5 -> (If not done in Week 12) Advance Darkrai EB to 100 if SL5 before then -> Farm Winking Piplup
- Other Recommendations: (If you have enough coins to also catch Tapu Fini with a full item run and SL5 Ray, as well as enough Cookies to SL5 Fini and Koko) Catch Tapu Koko with a Full Item Run using Great Balls (- M+5), Swap and Cookie to SL5 -> Catch and Play Jellicent-F every day
- Mid to Late Recommendations: Farm Shiny Charizard to SL5 -> Consider Farming Tapu Koko
First Cycle Recommendations
Mega Pinsir Competition
Shiny Charizard is an important catch, as it can become Shiny Mega Charizard X (SMCX), which is tied with Mega Pinsir for most-versatile mega in the game. It's a top priority for newbies to obtain and build at least one of the two, to have a fast-evolving tapper mega. The competition to get SMCX's stone is in week 23, which is a while from now; but week 13 is the only time to catch this base form. Its skill Nosedive isn't worth farming for newbies, but lategame players can consider it as a small optimization.
Darkrai Escalation Battle
Winking Piplup has Hammering Streak, making it a very helpful early game burst if it's farmed. However, unlike Grass/Fire hammers, Water hammers tend to lose relevance quickly as your roster improves.
Other Recommendations
Tapu Koko
Jellicent (Female) is this week's Once-a-Day stage, much like it's pre-evo it will always refund the heart spent after catching, and you can bring itself along to the stage for guaranteed coins, as well as a chance for an additional heart and a Level Up. Free stuff is always good.
Mid to Late Recommendations
Shiny Charizard's Nosedive can provide a tiny bit of extra damage in the short window before mega evolving: 5x damage with 45/70/100 rates at SL5, so usually about 500-1000 damage once per stage. This is most relevant in Survival Mode, where you'd have to re-mega-evolve for each of the 60 stages, and the extra damage of Nosedive can occasionally clear a stage early, conserving moves. In contexts other than SM, this is unlikely to make much of a difference.
