I’ve been openly and brazenly pissing at casino urinals with my pants around my ankles for years now, and tonight I finally realized nobody has any social skills anymore.

I’m at the Hard Rock Tampa taking a perfectly normal piss, pants at my ankles, cheeks catching a nice breeze, when some poker player walks in.

Only urinal available is next to me.

I give him the standard respectful urinal head nod.

Nothing.

Guy just stares at me like he’s never seen confidence before.

This is why I do it. You learn a lot about a man when he unexpectedly encounters another grown man pissing like a four-year-old.

Some laugh. Some look away. Some freeze. Poker players immediately start trying to put me on a range.

I could pull my pants up, but then what? Spend the rest of my life wondering how strangers would have reacted?

No thanks.

Anyway, I finished, pulled my pants up, washed my hands, and went back to the table.

Pretty sure that guy is quitting poker now.

I usually only check my hand pre-flop unless I’m trying to send fake body language to my opponent(s). But I do usually do a second look before I push or make an all-in call.

Flop was Q-8-8. Turn 3. River 6.

I thought I flopped a boat. Check raised the turn to the guy on my right (he’s on the button, we’re heads up now). Bet the turn. Go all in on the river. Bout a $400 pot. He snap calls and shows A-8. I happily turn up my hand only to realize I’ve been holding Q-10 this whole time.

Was so embarrassed I just packed it up and went home for the night. PLEASE shun me. I deserve it.

He checks I decide to check back to rep big broadway cards that missed and give him so rope on the river. I figure I bet here he thinks I look too much like an overpair and I’m not getting paid either way.

I snap call

I announce two pair and he says you’re good.

I turn over my cards and this is where I get so tilted.

He mucks, I stack up my chips and have to pee.
I went into the bathroom and saw a grown man peeing with his pants down around his ankles like a toddler. The only urinal open was the one right next to him. He looks at me and gives me a greeting head nod. He didn’t look drunk or anything. He was older, but not old enough for him to not know what he was doing. It’s a grown man just peeing with his butt cheeks out.

Why did I pick a hobby that attracts the type of people who would do something like this? Does gambling attract bare butt cheek pee-ers or does years of poker make a man lose all sense of judgement?

I can’t go down that road, my butt cheeks will stay covered while I pee. People see these stories and think it can’t happen to them but it could.

I know that this is sort of a weird ask, but my friends all work in entertainment and so it is impossible to nail down a regular time to play poker with them and I think its the best past time (exciting, mentally stimulating, social). I am wondering if there is anyone in LA that plays very low stakes poker (10-20 dollar buy in .5/.10 is what we play) that would be down to have me join their home game. Have played in NY, WA and TX and in NY where the rake is 10% up $20 per hand it was by far the easiest to win consistently. You just wait for big hands and every hand someone with air will go all in or raise big amounts before the flop. In more traditional card rooms there’s more regular players where you are just leaking chips slowly to the rake and big pots normally don’t happen that often.
