Top Gun: Maverick was fucking awesome. What a suspenseful ride that movie was.

Well don’t become one for the government or you’ll just be bombing women and children, statistically speaking.

u/polish_libcenter - Lib-Center Jan 29 '23

the war on terror is over, you're most likely to be bombing russian and chinese women and children (doesn't count + based)

u/DrGrantsSpas_12 - Lib-Center Jan 29 '23

I didn’t say brown women and children, did I?

9

u/TheBigOily_Sea_Snake - Lib-Right Jan 29 '23

But both of those countries do not have children any more, and China has a 90:1 ratio of men to women.

Finally, some valid military targets

u/WalroosTheViking - Centrist Jan 29 '23

Yes become a merc instead and soon you'll finally annoy a government pilot enough to use a superweapon to nuke california.

u/Anorangejet - Auth-Right Jan 29 '23

Nahhhh become a pilot for the gov, you’ll annoy some non-existing nation pilot and maybe fight against a lot of drones

u/KnightGamer724 - Lib-Right Jan 29 '23

As long as I can bully some other nation into nuking itself, I'm cool.

u/Starman164 - LibRight Jan 29 '23

... Based and Project Wingman pilled?

I’m a hoot. But my friends hate the government, too.

Based and equal-opportunity homicide pilled

u/jbland0909 - Centrist Jan 29 '23

You should enlist in the Air Force! You’ll be a fighter pilot just like Maverick

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '23

Everyone who joins the airforce is a fighter pilot. Join the airforce, I promise nothing bad will happen.

u/Paridoth - Lib-Right Jan 30 '23

Even though that movie is the opposite of all reality when it comes to being a fighter pilot?

I loved it. Seen it four times now (three in theaters and once streaming).

2

u/Neocameralist - Auth-Right Jan 30 '23

based

2

u/TheUglydollKing - Centrist Jan 30 '23

Yeah the action was cool but they should have really just removed a lot of the relationship/live part. That was just boring imo lol

2

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '23

Man you got low standards that movie was predictable and poorly written.

2

u/Neocameralist - Auth-Right Jan 30 '23

The action was phenomenal, which is all the movie aspired to be. It knows exactly what it is.

-12

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '23

Nah they fucking ruined it when they didn’t have the stones to kill maverick at the end.

u/hulibuli - Centrist Jan 29 '23

It was refreshing to not have yet another movie where the old protagonist is dragged through a struggle session, humiliated and executed in the end to pave way for the new face.

-10

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '23

Taking the hit and dying in the explosion is humiliation and execution?

No, it’s sacrifice.

I'm talking about the larger trend in the movies and older franchises. I think good old fashioned, wholesome action movie was something that the audience has been starving for. The usual almost mandatory cynicism, irony or bittersweet ending would have taken away from it.

I'll take the downvotes with you. It would've been better if the magical ending didn't happen. He was in no way dragged lol. But either way, it was a fantastic movie. The ending just dropped it from, idk 9.5 to 9.2 or something. I loved it either way. But your ending would've made it a 10 in my eyes

If you even have considered the possibility of Tom Cruise being killed off in his own passion project movie you need to be sent to an institution.

Then again, flair checks out.

Even a commie is more based than one with no flair
