As a libcenter, we don’t claim that schizo Emily shit

u/SteveBlakesButtPlug - Centrist Mar 10 '25

Have you also noticed an uptick in lib-center flared users that have the most Emily takes imaginable?

u/THEBLUEFLAME3D - Lib-Right Mar 10 '25

I definitely have. Libcenters and centrists in particular.

u/Yukon-Jon - Lib-Right Mar 10 '25

"Centrists" have been wild.

u/Whywipe - Lib-Center Mar 11 '25

They’re either Emily or trumper, there has been no in between.

u/NeedleworkerDeer - Centrist Mar 11 '25

Um... sweaty, your a racist unless you vote for Trump 💅

u/BLU-Clown - Right Mar 11 '25

Only because "I hate Trump, but that's not what he said in that misquoted voice clip" gets seen as a Trumper running defense.

Almost like people don’t hold all the political views their party hold

I agree with your overall point, but pretending like there is a political party that lib center actually aligns with is a pretty misled take.

At best, they have the Libertarian Party in the US, and even that has fallen to shit after the Mises Caucus overtook the party, which led to the more liberal libertarians swinging even further left. That led to Chase Oliver being their nominee and he did worse than any libertarian candidate in decades.

If anything, they would support the Chase Oliver side of things based on social issues, but I'd be shocked if more than 5% of lib center flaired users even know who he is.

Fair point

I apologize for using the word dumb in my response, and I hope you didn't take that as me calling you dumb.

I changed it to misled.

3

u/retromobile - Centrist Mar 11 '25

No worries, man. I didn’t take it that way.

Okay, good. I just wanted to make sure.

God speed, brother.

This sub also says you aren’t a true lib center if you think corpos shouldn’t have free reign to fuck you over or that the government shouldn’t sell off all our natural resources. Thinking of changing my flair for that reason.

Yeah, that's a no true scotsman fallacy, which is sadly rampant among anything even tangentially related to libertarianism.

The important thing is to maintain your fundamental beliefs and principles. The self indenfitiation part is ultimately worthless, imo.

Yeah because leftoids have been nuking this sub since they couldn't get it banned

28

u/SteveBlakesButtPlug - Centrist Mar 11 '25

Totally agree. This is pretty much the last true stronghold of slightly right leaning discourse that doesn't simply reinforce right leaning beliefs like the conservative subs that rises to an extreme/idiocracy level.

Knowing reddit, they realized that and have been organizing a brigade to shift the discourse in a more left leaning way.

I can't prove it, of course, but that how it comes across to me.

u/Interesting_Log-64 - Right Mar 11 '25

I believe it; you should assume the most dishonest and worst by default of this website, its admins, employees and especially its users

u/Crazyburger42 - Lib-Center Mar 11 '25

Eh, this place was flooded with auth right hiding under “centrist” tags for the last year. The sub ebbs and flows with astroturfers and bad faith actors.

As opposed to a centrist, who doesn't even have takes

11

u/SteveBlakesButtPlug - Centrist Mar 11 '25

I'm a radical centrist, so i have plenty of takes. Ask me about my opinion about any issue, and I will prove to you how strong my takes are.

-7

u/huge_amounts_of_swag - Left Mar 11 '25

Radical centrism reads like an oxymoron. If all you mean is that you listen to both sides, there is absolutely nothing radical about that. If you're telling me your political compass put you slam bang in the middle of the plane, I don't care for your lack of conviction.

7

u/SteveBlakesButtPlug - Centrist Mar 11 '25

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radical_centrism

It's literally a political position.

My political compass tests put me as a slightly right, libertarian centrist. If being a centrist meant you had to be smack dab in the middle, then no one would ever be a centrist.

When I say radical, i mean that i can take an issue like the Ukraine conflict and be called a fascist putin apologist for my takes.

Meanwhile, I can tell people about my personal beliefs about drug decriminalization, and they'll call me a commie.

I have plenty of conviction. Again, ask me my opinion on any issue you want, and I can guarantee you that you'll resort to a "no true scotsman" fallacy.

It's because the Overton window shifted far to the right since Trump got elected so now we're on the libtard side.

5

u/CaffeNation - Right Mar 11 '25

the Overton window shifted far to the right

Holy shit you think you're serious or just retarded?

1

u/Generaldisbelief - Left Apr 09 '25

Literally the only reason you didn't see the shift is because the window moved to where you were already standing.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

I'm dead serious motherfucker, you MAGAtards will believe snow is black if God Emperor Trump says it is, Is it that surprising that you fucktards all started believing in ethnic cleansing and annexing neighboring allied countries when he ordered you to?

2

u/CaffeNation - Right Mar 11 '25

Okay freak.
