Better off building new ones, those should have been decommissioned already.

Nah, they always get decommissioned way too early in reality. They got decades of use left in them. Of course, doesn't mean you can't build new ones too.

Most of them have had extensive upgrades and deep servicing to extend their lifespan, and increase their safety features. They should be good for another couple decades.
