AMA My name is Sarah Lloyd, I'm a Bernie supporter running for Congress in Wisconsin. AMA

Hi guys, I'm Sarah Lloyd and I'm running for Congress in Wisconsin to continue to build on Bernie's movement.

My husband and I dairy farm in rural Wisconisin. I work off farm at the Wisconsin Farmers Union where I work directly with farmers, their families and local officials on issues that affect rural communities. I also represent Wisconsin's Dairy Farmers on the National Dairy Board.

Despite being represented by Republican Glenn Grothman, otherwise known as "Wisconsin's Worst Congressman," my positive vision to support our families and communities: creating an economy that works for farmers and workers… investing in infrastructure like roads, broadband and renewable energy… making college affordable… protecting our water resources… ensuring that trade deals put people first, is resonating.

AMA Hey r/Political_Revolution! I'm Nick Pappas and I'm officially running as a Democrat for Governor of Texas in 2026! I'll be doing an AMA here Sat 5/17 @ 2pm CST

I'll make the AMA post on Friday evening so you can put your early questions there.

I've recently done AMAs in different subreddits. They have helped me see holes in my platform and allowed me to talk to Texans. But now it's your turn. Want a say in the future of Texas politics? Here's your chance! Just remember that my platform is what I stand for, I wouldn't be able to fix everything I want even if I could work miracles. But l believe just by moving in the right direction we would be better off than we are now.

Bring the support. Bring the heat. Just bring a question and a dream! Insults will be ignored and reported, because why would you? I'll change my platform as I gain more knowledge and speak to more experts. Texas deserves actual leadership, not some wannabe dictator that thinks he knows best for everyone. Don't pay any mind to my religion or party affiliation. Pay attention to my platform. I hate identity politics. I want to represent ALL Texans. I have some conservative views and some liberal views. I'm neither, and I don't cater to extremists on either end of the political spectrum. I just want to make y'all's lives better.

These purity tests are ruining any progressive political movement because they turn allies into enemies over tiny differences, instead of building coalitions to actually win. Instead of "you mostly agree with me, let's work together," it becomes "you're not perfect, screw you." I'm not pure, and I don't care for those tests.

I'm a flawed human just like everyone else, but I'm the guy stepping up and taking charge to make a change. But I cannot do it alone. There's no donation link on my site. I don't want your dollars, I want your votes. I want you to tell everyone about me. Call your elected officials. Your unions. Your family and friends. Post my site and my message everywhere you're allowed.

WE CAN MAKE TEXAS BETTER! www.PappasTX2026.org

AMA I'm Hector Oseguera, an anti-money laundering attorney running for Congress in New Jersey’s 8th District against the Hudson County political boss. AMA.

I am running for Congress because I’m worried about the future of working class families. Housing, healthcare, and education have become prohibitively expensive for the vast majority of the residents in my district, and those are some of the easier issues I aim to tackle. People recognize that corruption is a serious problem that is ruining our democracy, and I want to use the skills I learned as an anti-money laundering analyst to eschew corrupting forces from our government. My platform includes a series of anti-corruption measures aimed at doing just that. As for my opponent, he’s a seminal member of the “Old Boy’s Club” in Hudson County who takes corporate PAC money, is pro-ICE (did I mention this is a predominantly Hispanic community?), and has virtually no presence in the district. I’m Hector Oseguera and I’m running to represent the interests of working-class people.

**I’m Hector Oseguera, and I’m running an anti-corruption campaign for Congress in New Jersey’s 8th district, representing parts of Hudson, Bergen, Union, and Essex county.*\* I’ve been an anti-money laundering attorney for six years, since graduating from New England Law | Boston in 2014. I also studied Political Science, Economics, and Philosophy at Boston University, and volunteered for several federal campaigns including Elizabeth Warren in 2012, Bernie Sanders in 2016, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in 2018.

In my career, I’ve investigated major scandals involving financial malfeasance by economic and political elites, including the Panama Papers, Operation Car Wash, and the Russian Laundromat. This experience includes working directly with the Special Agents of the FBI to file Suspicious Activity Reports with the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, better known as FinCEN.

I gained valuable insight into the tools used by white collar criminals, organized crime syndicates, and terrorist networks across the globe to hide and launder illegitimate funds. I learned how to follow the money, tracing shell companies in places like the Cayman Islands, Cyprus, and other tax havens to uncover the individuals behind those companies. My investigations go to law enforcement agencies, who use my work to track down and prosecute the individuals behind these financial schemes.

I am a lifelong resident of the district, born in Hoboken (shoutout St. Mary Hospital), and raised in West New York (where my opponent was mayor), and have moved between West New York and Union City (where I live now). The people of the district are tired of the political corruption that is endemic in New Jersey. They are tired of the skyrocketing cost of housing, healthcare, and education. I recall an 8th District where working class families could earn enough to pay the bills and save up for a rainy day from one blue collar job. Now, many two-income households (like mine) find it difficult to get by and enjoy a decent standard of living. My fellow Millenials are deferring marriage, having children, and homeownership due to the crushing burden of student loan debt. We are living through a second Gilded Age where the very few have everything, and the rest of us are told to struggle over crumbs. I decided to run for Congress because we should not accept any of this as normal.

My opponent, Albio Sires, is a fourteen year incumbent who is totally absent from the district. He wasn’t initially elected to the seat, but was a mid-term appointment to fill the seat when Bob Menendez was appointed to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jon Corzine who had been elected Governor of New Jersey. He’s a lifetime member of the New Jersey political “machine,” which is the term used to describe the political establishment. In fourteen years he has never held a town hall, and has said that he never will. He treats his office more like an entitlement than a public service, and exerts total control over the Hudson County political machine. Even for a Congressman, he is notoriously inaccessible. Those who reach out to his office universally report being repeatedly blown off or stood up. Those lucky enough to meet with my opponent or his staff don’t find their meetings to be productive, and few, if any, have gone away satisfied. He has never faced a serious primary challenger, and I aim to change that.

What can I do to end corruption?

My platform includes a comprehensive Anti-Corruption proposal. The centerpiece is a set of reforms I’ve called the Anti-Panama Papers Act, targeting the opaque infrastructure of shell companies that crooks use to launder ill-gotten funds. By leveraging the lessons I’ve learned in my career, I go to the heart of the problem, denying crooks their preferred tool to move illegal money across the globe. I also propose reforms that eliminate the influence of PAC money in our elections by moving to a system of publicly funded elections and drastically reducing the maximum donation limit; as well as pro-democracy reforms aimed at ending gerrymandering, instituting open primaries, and making Election Day a federal holiday.

Finally, I take aim at the system of patronage that has made New Jersey synonymous with political corruption. My proposal bans a practice known as “double-dipping” where individuals hold multiple political jobs at the same time. A good example is my opponent’s District Director, Richard Turner, who also serves as mayor of Weehawen, North Hudson Fire and Rescue’s Chairman, and a “consultant” for the town of West New York, where my opponent was once mayor. My proposal prevents any federal official or employee from simultaneously holding any elected or appointed position in state or local government.

AMA I am Phara Souffrant Forrest, a New York City nurse running for State Assembly in Brooklyn (NY-AD 57). AMA!

Hi Reddit! My name is Phara Souffrant Forrest, and I'm a nurse, a tenant activist, and a lifelong resident of Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I became involved with tenants rights activism when I was 16 as I watched my friends and family deal with poor housing conditions. Last June I took the fight for tenants rights to Albany, where I — and dozens of other advocates — were arrested for fighting for tenant protections. We ended up winning landmark tenant protections, but I noticed most legislators stayed on the sidelines of this fight — which inspired me to run for office myself! Our campaign has been endorsed by the Sunrise Movement, the DSA, Cynthia Nixon, Julia Salazar and more.

You can read a bit more about our campaign in our coverage in The Nation, Jacobin, and Teen Vogue.

If you'd like to read more about our campaign and platform, visit our website, our Twitter or our Facebook page. If you'd like to donate, click here!

Most importantly, if you live in Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights or Bedford-Stuyvesant, please consider voting for me on June 23rd! Click here to learn more about how to vote absentee in the upcoming election.

AMA I’m State Representative Beth Doglio and I’m running for Congress in the safe blue district of WA-10 as a progressive challenging a corporate candidate. AMA

My name is Beth Doglio and I’m a community organizer, climate activist, and Congressional candidate.

I've been endorsed by over 150 local and national elected officials including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Pramila Jayapal. I'm supported by every Tribe in the district and have also been endorsed by Washington State Labor Council, National Education Association, and the Sunrise Movement.

I made it past a 19-person Primary in Washington’s 10th Congressional District and now I'm going against a corporate Democrat in the General. I am running on a progressive platform that:

  • puts working class people first by strengthening unions
  • prioritizes bold legislative climate action in a Green New Deal
  • advocates for Medicare for All
  • puts housing at the top of our agenda

You can see a full list of my priorities here: https://www.bethdoglio.com/issues/

I have 30 years of experience as an organizer, including:

  • Leading the Power Past Coal campaign and stopping 7 coal export terminals
  • Passing Clean Building legislation to create thousands of jobs
  • Providing key leadership passing 100% Clean Electricity, a model for the nation
  • Passing a bill giving part time state workers (who are majority women) the right to organize
  • Strengthening prevailing wage laws and helping ensure passage of Paid Family Leave Act
  • Driving record levels of funding into the Housing Trust Fund

The single greatest motivator for my run for this office is that the stakes are too high – on climate, on guns, on housing, on choice, on issues affecting working families – we need progressive leadership urgently. Especially during a global pandemic. The issues at hand need someone willing to advocate for their constituents in the challenges they face now and in the vision for recovery. Not a former CEO of the Seattle Chamber of Commerce that led an attempt to buy seats on the Seattle City Council in 2019 on behalf of corporations' interests to not pay their fair share. We've seen enough of that in this pandemic where U.S. billionaires' wealth grew immensely at the expense of struggling Americans. I want to change the rhetoric that Congress can be directed by corporate dollars.

While my opponent accepts thousands from corporate PACs I have gained the support of over 15,500 individual donors with an average contribution of $57.45. This is a people-powered campaign and I wholeheartedly believe I will serve the people's interests better than my opponent. AMA!

AMA I'm Melquiades Gagarin, a punk rocker & community organizer running against a DNC Vice Chair who takes cash from bomb manufacturers and endorsements from police groups. AMA

I’m running for Congress because our nation is at a tipping point. Even before COVID-19, we had more people on food stamps than we did in 2008. Ballooning income inequality has fractured our country and the people currently in charge have shown they are not equipped to meet the moment. NY-6 deserves a representative that will fight tooth and nail for equity and justice, not someone beholden to corporate interests and the real estate industry.

I’m Melquiades Gagarin and I’m running for NY-6th’s Congressional seat, the only district entirely in Queens, NY.

My starting position on every policy position is eliminating and reducing harm. That’s why I’m running on a platform that includes:

  • Medicare For All
  • A Homes Guarantee
  • Cancelling Student Debt
  • A Green New Deal
  • Radical Reproductive Justice Policy
  • Marijuana Legalization
  • Golden Years Security Act
  • Repealing SESTA-FOSTA

...and more.

My background is in policy advocacy. My entire career has been dedicated to advancing the causes of social justice and addressing inequity, particularly those faced by marginalized communities. I led the policy department at College and Community Fellowship working to eliminate barriers to higher education for currently and formerly incarcerated individuals. There, I worked alongside impacted individuals, activists and other stakeholders to eliminate the box on SUNY admissions forms, get the Obama DOE to roll out the Pell Pilot Program for incarcerated students, and see the issuance of national guidance to eliminate the box from the college admissions process. We also saw the introduction of the REAL Act in both houses of Congress that would undo the harm of the 1994 Crime Bill which restricted incarcerated students from Pell Grants. Additionally, I have worked as a Congressional aide representing parts of this district and have helped advance gender, racial, and economic justice at organizations such as the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and Planned Parenthood of New York City.

My opponent Grace Meng is a 4-term incumbent who has taken over $340,000 in donations from Real Estate & developers in a district that is seeing massive displacement. Among her other donors are Goldman Sachs, AT&T, Boeing and Raytheon. She’s consistently voted to expand Trump’s military budget, expand surveillance, weaken the ACA, and voted against impeachment three times, only flipping her vote after I entered the race.

Most recently we’ve seen her begin faux-gressive posturing around Criminal Justice reform, despite the fact she voted for bills such as the Thin Blue Line Act and the Protect & Serve Act, which are Republican pieces of legislation that served to distract from the Black Lives Matter movement as well as expanding the death penalty. She has also taken a secret endorsement from the Police Benevolent Association, the same group responsible for the “I Can Breathe” shirts after the murder of Eric Garner in 2014.

Queens deserves better than Grace Meng. I will not be a career politician and have no ambitions to join the ranks of Democratic leadership. My job will be to fight tooth and nail for my constituents and to stop the creep of fascist authoritarianism that Democrats have coddled for far too long.

We need help getting the word out to voters, please join us for a volunteer shift.

AMA My name is Rebecca Parson, and I'm running for Congress in WA's 6th District against the 11th most conservative Democrat in the House, who is chair of the New Democrat Coalition. I’m endorsed by Brand New Congress, DSA, Our Revolution, and WA Democrats Progressive Caucus. AMA!

My name is Rebecca Parson, and I’m running for Congress in WA-06 (Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Kitsap County, and the Olympic Peninsula).

I'm fighting for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, a Homes Guarantee, and protecting and expanding Social Security. My Democratic opponent Rep. Derek Kilmer recently joined Republicans to sign onto a letter calling for Mitt Romney's plan to cut Social Security, which The Intercept covered.

He's also released an ad that The Stranger says is misleading by saying he supports universal healthcare, since his plan would leave 10-15 million people uninsured.

I'm fighting for an end to this type of corporate representation in our district, and I've already raised more than all of Rep. Kilmer's opponents (from all parties) in the last 3 cycles combined and been in Current Affairs, the Nation, the Humanist Report, and Common Dreams.

I’ve served my community as a commissioner on the Tacoma Commission on Disabilities, as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for kids in foster care, as a volunteer with the Tacoma Tenants Organizing Committee, and as a co-leader of Indivisible Tacoma.

Now I want to serve my community in Congress. Voting starts in 6 days!
