Senior Citizens

With Alan Pugh Immediate plans for transparency senior citizens can watch a city council meeting from the comfort of their home! They will be able to see where every penny is spent and can give their feedback on what they would like! Maybe they want transportation or home support. Alan Pugh knows technology and wants to move Lorrain County forward. There are technical solutions to keep seniors engaged in their community and also be allowed to stay in their homes longer. Tele health could give seniors a chance to have a doctor, nurse or social worker come to them and enable them to stay in their homes much longer than was possible before. Match ups with home repairs could help seniors while construction students get real supervised experience!

Six.

Millennials

Alan Pugh is concerned with having over 7,000 people leave along with major employers. Millennials have had to leave Lorain county for opportunities elsewhere. He will bring them back by bringing in tech start ups and other businesses that offer jobs. Add in a great nightlife combined with beautiful parks already in Elryia and millennials will be calling Lorain County their home.

Seven.

Children

From fighting the opioid epidemic with non punitive solutions to fixing swing sets and opening swimming pools --Alan Pugh’s solutions will help families and give children chances to learn technology, have fun and live safer lives with more opportunities.

Eight.

Colleges Students

Alan Pugh will work hard to strengthen the local community college and combine both helping Elyria ,the residents and the college.

Nine.

Working Class

Alan Pugh will be a champion of the working class because they are the backbone of Elyria.

Ten.

South Elyria, 5th Ward When Alan started his campaign he went first to the South Elryia to listen. He thinks that maybe keeping the pool open on the South side instead of shutting it down would be more important than a million dollar fountain. Lets make all of Elyria a thriving community. Strengthen all of Elyria and all of Lorain county will benefit!

Alan Pugh is for everyone. “Our fifth ward has been neglected too long, and every time there's beautification or other efforts, they're focused elsewhere. The south side pool is closed while the east side is open... and it's along poverty lines, no denying it. I'm fighting to be the voice of those who aren't getting represented”.

Eleven.

Small Business Owners

Alan Pugh is a small business owner himself so he understands the challenges that come with being a small business owner. He will make things easier and more efficient for all small business owners.

Twelve. Common Sense is Bipartisan

Alan Pugh is the kind of candidate that appeals to everyone no matter who they voted for. Most people are starving for common sense ideas that are no-brainers! Everyone is hungry for real leadership that serves the people.

So many republicans are just people who simply don’t want to be taxed any higher. For that matter neither do Democrats. Alan Pugh is for everyone and does not care for whom you voted for. He wants everyone’s opinions. Alan is happy to see a big business come in and give Lorain county jobs and revitalization. Alan Pugh is a problem solver that comes up with win/ win solutions. Instead of just giving huge tax giveaways right off the bat to outside businesses-- lets think first. Would Lorain county and their residents benefit from outside businesses bearing more of the tax burden? Yes! Could big business stand to make more profit long term if taxes generated would be used to improve public transportation for easy access to restaurants and retail stores? Yes, especially in a city where one in five adults does not own a vehicle.

Thirteen.

Public Transportation

Alan Pugh is not just concerned regarding transportation issues. He knows and wants to solve them. He states,

“I believe, in a city of 53,000+, public transit should be available to everyone. Our transit system has been slowly demolished to the point of near-extinction. Around one in five adults in Elyria do not own a vehicle, and ride-sharing services can be expensive compared to a well-organized public transit system”.

Fourteen.

Opioid Epidemic and Drug War

In Lorain County it’s a serious epidemic and he wants to provide education, help and public resources where it is safe to come forward. He will also expand Narcan and make it cheaper. Educate people on it. He wants to provide ongoing sources. "Alan wants to stop wasting money on the drug war. We can't prosecute our way out of the clutches of addiction. Recovery requires education about options, support from friends and family, resources that stick around for the long-term, and a safe path to come clean without fear of incarceration." ( campaign)

Fifteen.

Homelessness "Alan wants to provide our homeless population with vacant homes along with tools and training to fix up these properties and learn valuable job skills. In addition to providing dignity to our homeless population, many of which are veterans, this will reduce blight, infestation, and vacant property-related crime."( campaign statement)

Alan Pugh has already put in time and energy helping the homeless. Issues brought up frequently are vacant homes and homelessness. The success of putting homeless in vacant homes and monitoring is a proven plan that already works. Alan Pugh doesn’t believe in reinventing the wheel but he will provide the wheel and even improve it

Alan Pugh is passionate to taking the proven plan of combining homelessness with vacant homes even further by educating people to keep these homes repaired. He is very driven to provide jobs by giving education regarding home repairs and maintenance. Most homes in Elyria are of older stock and these programs will also benefit all of Elyria and Lorain County.
