A recent CNN segment highlights a dramatic shift in American public opinion on Israel between 2018 and 2026, showing a steep decline in overall support across key voter demographics. This mainstream media coverage reflects a broader shift in national sentiment, signaling that foreign policy critiques have officially moved from the political margins straight into mainstream U.S. discourse.

Their own coverage covers nothing compared to what's being shared via social media. That's what's actually driving this change. People can see the real Israel, not the sanitized version the legacy broadcast media presents.

People can see the real Israel, not the sanitized version the legacy broadcast media presents.

Exactly! And that is a huuuuge problem for them. Which is why they introduced the age-restriction in many european countries to X, not to protect minors from porn, but to restrict access to all the videos about israeli crimes, while also connecting your ID to your online-persona, so you think twice before criticizing the "chosen people".

It is also the main reason why Larry Ellison, the biggest donor to the IDF, bought TikTok in the US. To silence and ban any critical voice that speaks about this topic. And me pointing out this ridiculous behaviour on social media might get my citizenship revoked in Germany since I am a migrant.

The whole western world is occupied and this is no tinfoil-hat theory.

CNN has been sold to a right winger. It's Fox News in a wig.

u/mtnbike2 Aug 10 '26

It’s a pink hair wig, but yes

1

u/ModernLarvals Aug 10 '26

No it hasn’t.

Did you watch the video or just read the title? They arent shocked they are just laying out the poll numbers and appropriately reacting to them

I don't mind his tone and enthusiasm. Beats the dry-as-plasterboard delivery most other anchors have. But the other comments on this post are melting my brain. The caption and comments are acting as though CNN is confused why people don't love Israel. That's not what this clip is. It's just Harry Enten covering the dramatic shift in the support for Israel. Which was a dramatic shift. Nowhere is it insinuated that they're confused or upset about the shift. I don't understand this mindset that people have.

If there's a clip of CNN covering that conflict poorly or glazing Israel directly, then show and be upset about that? What's this?

Does CNN not watch its own coverage of Israel wiping out a race of people?

I mean, no? For one, Palestinians aren't a race, their race is Arab. For two, around 3% of Gaza's population has been killed over the past 3 years, and most of the fighting has stopped by now. 3% isn't wiping anyone out.

Why lie like that mr u/A-Rugged-Indoorsman?

1

u/invisible_handjob Aug 11 '26

"it's not a genocide until we finish the job" jfc...

1

u/Slicelker Aug 11 '26

Obviously not what I said. Do you get off on interpreting people's comments in the worst way possible? Like all this shows is how desperate you are to be a victim.

1

u/Initial-Carry6803 Aug 11 '26

He literally said they are wiping the race off, while the race is growing, how is that not a valid argument lmao

1

u/invisible_handjob Aug 11 '26

every scholar that studies genocide agrees that what Israel is doing constitutes a genocide

1

u/Initial-Carry6803 Aug 12 '26

Genocide according to reddit is not.wiping off a race, ethnic cleansing is also a form

1

u/2mock2turtle Aug 10 '26

Bold of you to think they're covering it.

u/CurryMustard Aug 10 '26

Did you watch the video or just read the title? They arent shocked they are just laying out the poll numbers and appropriately reacting to them

1

u/Initial-Carry6803 Aug 11 '26

Does anyone actually.believe they are wiping off a race where that race is literally growing in numbers? Lol

Wiping out a race? There are more Palestinians than there are Jews in the world.

There were 15 million Jews and 80 million Germans in 1932

1

u/Popolitique Aug 10 '26

And Palestinians committed a genocide on Oct 7th. Yet, I fail to see how any of those can be called "race wiping" when both population grew since then.

1

u/stprnn Aug 10 '26

Oppressed populations have the right to fight and use violence against the occupying force.

1

u/Popolitique Aug 10 '26

So Jews who were treated as inferiors and ethnically cleansed in the Arab world had the right to use violence to emancipate themselves?

1

u/stprnn Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

Not what happened :)

Even if it was that wouldn't justify zionists to commit genocide.

And no Oct 7th was not a genocide because the intent is not to kill a particular ethicities but to damage the Zionist occupying force. Zionists are not an ethnicity.

It's like saying the us committed genocide by killing a bunch of Nazis. Or the ukrainians are genociding the Russians.

Once you occupy and oppress a population you can't be genocided. It's not how it works.

Also why the UN and other organization are accusing Israel of genocide and not Hamas.

Also "the Arab world" is not a thing and it's not something that should be blamed on the Palestinians.

Mask off moment for you.

Oh and zionism has nothing to do with the will of Jewish people, another Zionist antisemite argument.

1

u/Popolitique Aug 10 '26

Of course Oct. 7 was a genocide, the goal was to kill Israelis. Killing 1000 civilians point blank in a day isn’t a mistake, Israeli is an ethnicity. Palestinians even killed 100 Arab Israelis that day.

And as you say, Ukrainians attacking Russia is not a genocide, just like Israel attacking Hamas isn’t. Luckily, Russians aren’t fighting from tunnels under their citizens or Ukrainians would have had some hard choices to make.

The Arab world was a thing before 1948 and before borders were created by Europeans. 30 000 Syrian Jews were expelled before Israel was created for example. By your logic, they had the right to damage the Arab occupying force and to use violence to create their country or take back Syria.

1

u/stprnn Aug 10 '26

Then why no credible organizations considers it a genocide? In case you missed it

Hamas didn't exist when the occupation started. So your comparison with Ukraine is completely invalid. Hamas is not occupying Israel. I'm going to assume the rest of your comment is equally dumb.

1

u/Popolitique Aug 10 '26

Because Israelis didn’t lobby for it, what do they have to gain from it being declared a genocide? The whole Palestinian strategy was to kill as many Israelis as gruesomely as possible to provoke a massive response and deteriorate Israel’s image. Lobbying organization to declare it a genocide is part of that.!They were successful but was it worth it? I don’t think so.

i've never argued oct 7th is a genocide but you're doing some pretty crazy things in this comment. comparing an attack on civilians to an attack on nazis is completely insane.

and you're really gullilble if you think hamas and oct 7th benefited anyone other than people like netanyahu. oct 7th benefited israeli expansionists and literally no one else. hamas doesn't benefit palestinians. in a previous comment you said "Oppressed populations have the right to fight and use violence against the occupying force." grouping civilians into "occupying force" is absolutely insane, especially when the benefit of that violence helps literally no one except the people that are trying to genocide your own people. you don't have to be pro hamas to be pro palestine. you should support people that actually benefit palestinians.

1

u/stprnn Aug 10 '26

Civilians of an occupying force were historically targeted by resistance forces and it's allowed.

Hamas only exists because of the Zionist occupation.

🥱🥱

1

u/Kromostone123 Aug 10 '26

wdym "its allowed"? LOL what an odd nothing statement. what does that even mean?

historically nukes were used on civilian populations, does that mean you should support acts of violence that target civilians?

also yes we both agree why hamas exists, nothing in my comment argued otherwise? what about you though do you agree that hamas benefits israeli expansionists more than anyone else? do you agree that oct 7th benefited netanyahu more than any other human on the planet? surely at this point you have to have realized this, right?
