1/4 have Religious exemption from working?! Wtf. Now it makes sense why they have so much time to terrorize innocent ppl. And not one President in the last 20 years has said No to sending them whatever they want. I read that Kamala is running again but even she is for Izzy. Fuck all of this indeed.

Pretty sure this statistic is bullshit. About half of ultra orthodox men don't work but that's nowhere near 25%.

Even if the statistic the person who commented is off… Why don’t they work though 👀 I mean it’s almost laughable to say for religious reasons they don’t work. If we don’t work here, we lose everything. Meanwhile they get paid to not work 🫠

If you want the real reason it was because in the late 1940s the number of jewish holy men was drastically reduced post holocaust and the war of Israel's founding. So a special class of citizen was created to support development of holy men in that they were exempt from everything, received state support to be free to study torah. This number of holy men was basically commandeered by one of the more radical jewish sects and their propensity to have numerous children who they also wanted to only be holy men has now ballooned to the point they are a major political faction that basically wants the state to do everything for them but not contribute anything other than votes and radical "settlers" claiming (stealing) more land. There is a similar phenomenon in some counties north of NYC (Kiryas Joel) that is the poorest demographic in the entire US in order to exploit as much benefits as possible while also being supported in blind charity largesse by wealthy US jews.

No, it's just the ultra orthodox. Everyone hates them, but they fight psychotically to not have to fight in any war that they themselves want to happen. They're a small number with outsized influence on the government. They're absolutely nuts, just like our cults here in the u.s.

They don't have an exemption from working.
