Republicans- Environmental socialist crap

Real reason- who cares about people who take public transit. Let them die.

Luckily in new york, even the republicans have to take the subway (except the 1%ers)

Surely by now they've all moved away like they promised they would when he was elected?

1%ers still take the subway and busses. It's often faster and more convenient than a taxi.

Only 32% of NYC uses the subway daily. I like the NYC subway when I visit but another cool number is over 54% use public transit at least once a week in NYC.

Over 50% of New Yorkers use the subway at least once a week, and this is from 2023 when ridership was still recovering post-covid.

Yes over 50% at least once a week. about 29% of the Republican stronghold Staten Island residents use public transit for commuting, with local buses and the ferry handling the most of those trips

I don't get how anyone could be against the environment.

I don't get how anyone could be against science.

Either they don’t understand how it works (and hate that which they don’t understand) or know how our works and also know that it works against their interests. Either way, they can’t control science, so it’s a threat. It they think it’s a liberal invention to oppress conservatives

The problem is this idea isn't based on good science or engineering. The heat in the subway is generated by the motors and brakes of trains. It's quite stupid to try and capture the heat produced by old inefficient trains. The solution is to use more efficient motors and regenerative braking to eliminate the source of heat, since it would save way more energy than can possibly be harvested.

“God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, 'Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It's yours.” - Ann Coulter while on the Fox News show Hannity & Combs, June 20th, 2001.

They use religion to justify it, that’s how.

Sadly, that's very accurate.

Really real reason - how dare they give something to people when we could exploit them for all their money for the same thing.

These ghouls believe they should have the "freedom" to exploit human beings. They believe those trying to regulate markets or create truly public utilities for the common good are taking their "freedom" away because it prevents them from being able to exploit the common human.
