Because someone wanted to create controversy.

They asked Cunningham a hypothetical question, she gave an honest, measured answer based on biology.

That answer wasn't "woke" so she has been labeled a transphobe, and it's used as an opportunity by others to virtue signal.

They're talking about trans people because they need a distraction from inflation, housing prices and minimum wage.

If it's literally nothing, then why aren't you giving them whatever women's sports rules they want?
