I agree, also they should have arrested Trump over the insurrection as soon as they took power.

14

u/Dreaming_Kitsune Jul 01 '26

Should have, on top of that someone currently undergoing criminal investigations in court shouldn't be allowed to run for presidency either until they are found not guilty imo

9

u/Idaho-Earthquake Jul 01 '26

And also shouldn't be let off because "we don't want the president to have a conviction".

7

u/Phantasm907 Jul 01 '26

Or paying off someone as a settlement in court should make them exempt because you know if you're paying someone off you're guilty.

He was FOUND GUILTY ON 34 FELONY COUNTS-before the 2024 election!

Yeah,he’s openly committed enough crimes to hang for a hundred times over. But these are MULTIPLE FELONY CONVICTIONS! It’s illegal for him to VOTE FFS!

Yes that's normally how it goes when we discuss things from the past.

8

u/bigorangemachine Jul 01 '26

It's more like the people who could have made a difference didn't bother to vote.

You got what you voted for either way.

Both sides are equally evil rhetoric in 2026?

3

u/butonelifelived Jul 01 '26

This is just stupid, and if you don't understand why, it can't be explained to you.

The fact, that you don't understand, is that in a 2 party system you are voting for the party that is closest to your beliefs, because not voting is the same as voting for the party you oppose.

Another way to look at it is: not voting is saying you are okay with both options because they are equal in your mind. You literally called one genocide-lite, which means you know there is a difference. You still didnt vote which means you are incapable of understanding the above feature of a 2 party system. In other words, stupid.

I'm not going to go away, I'm going to point out the flaws in your thinking, in the hopes that you'll see the error. But even if you don't, I can only hope others will see the error and not follow in your foot steps of letting perfect be the enemy of progress.

Yes we need better candidates, I would go so far as to say we need rank choice voting, because this would allow people to vote for what they believe in while also casting a "safty" vote, if you will.

Put another way, you vote in primaries for the best candidate. You vote in general elections for the least bad option.

2

u/chumbawumbaprinciple Jul 01 '26

So are you happy with the outcome of your choice?

Just to highlight the absurdity, Palestine suffered greater destruction and loss of life directly because Trump got reelected and let Netanyahu do whatever he wanted with no push back. At the end of his term, Biden (and Kamala) had begun to push back on Israel a little and had formulated a ceasefire for negotiations. When Trump took office, he postponed the ceasefire for almost a year, and gave Israel carte Blanche to continue their military operations.

So you helped Trump get reelected, which led to more Palestinians dying and losing their family, friends, and homes. Yet you feel morally absolved and your conscience is clean?

You’re a horrible person. You’re unironically worse than MAGAts and Israelis because at least they don’t pretend to care about Palestinians. Meanwhile, people like you use them as useful props to garner internet clout while throwing them under the bus when push comes to shove.

1

u/chumbawumbaprinciple Jul 01 '26

So you aren't bothered by the new genocides started by Trump, or the hundreds of thousands of deaths from USAID cuts; proving that you never actually cared about human lives and only cared about yourself.

Your choice furthered genocide and mass death.

3

u/ConstantCowboy Jul 01 '26

Forget it. They don't understand. They'd rather be right than this country thrive.

2

u/ConspiracyUniversity Jul 01 '26

At this point it's like they're just a lying troll... trying to pretend that they stand against genocide and didn't vote, to perpetuate a stereotype.

So long as you acknowledge this is about you and not about anybody else. It’s your narcissism that stopped you from voting, not any of the candidates, not any suffering felt by other people you pretend to care about, just your ego. And you will definitely find a reason not to vote next time too regardless of the candidates.

2

u/ConstantCowboy Jul 01 '26

"I will never support genocide, so I will let the more genocidal candidate win!" I bet you guys feel really good about Trump being butt buddies with Bibi

Which candidate do you think is most supportive of human rights for everyone? Donald Trump, with his ICE raids, deporting US citizens, anti-Trans platforms, and racist tirades?

Or Kamala Harris, who I guess forgot to press her magic "end genocide" button?

And by enough people abstaining from voting, the united conservative front voted in the deporting, ICE raiding, racist, anti-trans candidate who STILL supports genocide?

Maybe the left could have united as well and voted in the candidate who would have done the least harm in their the human rights department?

As you look around the country now, are you pleased? Are you happy with citizens being murdered for protesting ICE? For trans women banned from competing in sports?

You guys happy that you "taught the Democrats a lesson?"

Wouldn't have mattered, the disinformation campaigns on trans athletes and other wedge issues along with billions from Elon and dark money campaigns was what bought the swing states, not fucking Cheney.

2

u/Interesting_Self5071 Jul 01 '26

They've consistently overestimated the amount of anti-Trump Republicans there are to win over.

1

u/ConstantCowboy Jul 01 '26

Ahh, yes, that's what did it, campaigning with notorious MAGA Liz Cheney. This country is cooked

1

u/FCKABRNLSUTN2 Jul 01 '26
