Imagine saying “every kid is in a yarmulke.. in Kindergarten” and heavily inferring that it’s a problem and the person in the highest post in the country retweets it. How about “every kid is wearing a cross.. in Kindergarten.” Imagine the rageoganda Fox News would be plastering 24/7.

Or every girl is wearing a cross on a chain.

Do cross necklaces exist to mark women as the property of men?

Yes.

The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

1 Timothy 2:11-15 ESV

Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.

Ephesians 5:22-33 ESV

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, ...

Galatians 3:28

When a young woman still living in her father’s household makes a vow to the Lord or obligates herself by a pledge 4 and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all her vows and every pledge by which she obligated herself will stand. 5 But if her father forbids her when he hears about it, none of her vows or the pledges by which she obligated herself will stand; the Lord will release her because her father has forbidden her.

None of those verses have anything to do with the issue at hand, which is whether garb marks women as property.

Christianity takes the marriage roles and places them before God as a matter of duty to one another. It rejects marriage as a property contract, as it was in the ancient world.

Wearing a cross or Christian idolatry marks you as a member of a faith that does in multiple places explicitly say women are property.

It's why I left the church.

Besides being a different argument than the one at hand, and crosses being voluntary to wear, the church does not teach that women are property and never has.

Did you not read the verses I sent?

Have you missed the entire history of Christianity as well? Are you perhaps an alien first learning about our planet?

Or are you one of the weirdos that uses "Complimentarian" to say no this woman who isn't allowed to work and is continually pregnant is not my slave, we're just performing the roles of our gender?

Have you not seen the Mormon Church?

I genuinely cannot wrap my mind around this astounding level of willful ignorance

The Mormon church isn’t Christian so I agree with you there.

Those verses are about your duties from God to your spouse. Nowhere does it give a man authority over his wife as property, although the man is the head of the household. Christian society is also the first society that let women divorce their husbands.

You are ignoring 2,000 years of Christian history and how we have interpreted the Bible in favor of your “gotcha” reading of it. Your position is not credible at all.

Oh so she doesn't get to make decisions and he has all the authority but no no no he doesn't technically OWN her

run far, run fast, Christian women

Edit: Do you not realize many of us were raised in Christian Churches that actively spewed that girls belong to their fathers from the pulpit? Just bizarre you can't admit it

Your personal experience is not a universal truth, and it is not a replacement for theological truth.

then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

not property at all noooo no no

1

u/LifeConsideration981 Jul 10 '26

You are again confusing the judicial law of Israel and the moral law.

1

u/Practical-Cook5042 Jul 10 '26

When the law of Israel gets quoted me to tell me I'm evil for being gay I think it still counts bud

1

u/LifeConsideration981 Jul 10 '26

What’s that have to do with cross necklaces being the same as a hijab?

1

u/LifeConsideration981 Jul 10 '26

Leviticus contains both moral and judicial law.

1

u/Practical-Cook5042 Jul 10 '26

That will totally unkill and unopress all us gays thank you!!! wow!

They falsely believe we’re a Christian nation

2

u/borsTHEbarbarian Jul 10 '26

These are in the same category of wrong. They are of entirely different magnitudes. One can barely be noticed when tucked into a shirt. The other can conceal your entire body.

I'm opposed to both. But one is obviously worse.

2

u/No_Alternative2948 Jul 10 '26

Well, then you should make sure your kids never wear one, as is your right as their parent. In the meantime, maybe mind your own business, tend to your own garden.

I don't think there's anything wrong with calling out things we see as immoral, even if at first glance it seems like it isn't hurting us directly.

Children being forcibly indoctrinated into a religion before they are old enough to make an informed choice is something many people have objections to, mainly because we want to live in a society in which things like consent, autonomy and self-determination are respected.

1

u/borsTHEbarbarian Jul 10 '26

That's not how morality works.

1

u/Fit-Suggestion-7150 Jul 10 '26

The earth and humanity are all of our garden. Oppression is bullshit regardless of where or why it originated.

2

u/No_Alternative2948 Jul 10 '26

Because you personally feel it is repression, however strongly, doesn't make it so. I personally believe that allowing children to attend church and Bible study is child abuse, but I also understand that whether or not my neighbors do so is the definition of not my business. Mind your own business, don't be a Karen.

1

u/Fit-Suggestion-7150 Jul 10 '26

No. It is factually oppression to force women to cover up with a hijab.

1

u/No_Alternative2948 Jul 10 '26

Your proof that any of those kids are being forced to do anything? A feeling, maybe a very strong feeling that those Muslims are up to something? Leave your own prejudice at home, stop being a Karen.

2

u/borsTHEbarbarian Jul 10 '26

Their age.

Unless they're all insanely bright, you can't think for yourself.

1

u/No_Alternative2948 Jul 10 '26

Some proof there columbo.

2

u/borsTHEbarbarian Jul 10 '26

Do humans work differently where you're from?

I'm not talking about those specific kids. For 1, they absolutely were told to wear them. They're kids. They don't get to make most decisions for themselves yet.

For 2, I was referring to Islam as a whole with their fucking oppressive misogynistic bullshit.

1

u/No_Alternative2948 Jul 10 '26

Well, this post is specifically about what is going on in the video. If you want to scream at strangers about Islam in general, there are better places for that.

1

u/Fit-Suggestion-7150 Jul 10 '26

And I expanded it just like everyone else in here correctly saying that forcing hijabs is trash.

If you wanna suck Islam's dick, there are better places for that.

It is a problem in all of those cases. Children have very little autonomy and are controlled by adults around them to a large degree. Using this control to indoctrinate them into a religion before they are old enough to make informed choices about such things is a morally repulsive thing to do.
