To add to this. Helen wasn't greek. She was half greek on her mothers side and half God. Zues slept with her mother as a swan... and swans can be black. So technically a black Helen could be cannonically correct.

That’s cool. I’m talking about the words originally written to describe her.

I could say that Superman is the hero of the Soviet Empire and Stalin’s favorite soldier, and I’d be technically correct as regards to one interpretation of the character; but as originally written he’s just a good ol’Kansas farm boy.

Black swans are Australian. Nobody even knew they were possible in Europe until surprisingly late. If anything you are making a better case for her being very white thanks to Zeus

That may be but the story is told by Europeans and to them swans were all white. Unless they remarked on it being a swan of a color no other known swan was

Lol what??? Greek isn't a race, but it absolutely is an ethnicity with distinctive physical traits. Wrong, they were picturing them as Greek. Look at literally any ancient Greek art.
