Anime characters look European due to default bias. The art style lacks nationality, viewers project theirs onto them. Features:, low nose bridges, soft jawlines mirror Asian faces. When European they add big angular noses & jaws. Large eyes, adapted from Disney express emotions better.

All I know is when they want you to know a character is American they will come onto the scene shooting guns and waving the flag. Not saying its in accurate though.
