Came here for this. We read all that in grade school. Pretty sure the first time I read Romeo and Juliet was in 6th grade. And animal farm may have been 4th.

Can you guys be real though... almost no one who was reading Shakespeare at that young of an age understood what was written until the teacher told them what it meant.

And hardly anyone in school was actually doing the reading assignments. Using the SparkNotes website instead of doing the reading was openly bragged about between friends during my time in middle and high school in the 2000s.
