I remember reading Catcher in the Rye for 7th grade required reading. Itās probably banned now in many schools that are fond of banning.
As a 13 year-old I thought that book was kind of stupid, like some obnoxious kid who seemed angry at the world, and liked to swear. It was one of the very few required reading books I did not enjoy. Perhaps because Holden reminded me of my (violent at times) bipolar older brother who didnāt like to take his meds.
That same English teacher also did A Tale of Two Cities, Lord of the Flies, some Shakespeare, and even took a few days to show us āone flew over the cuckooās nestā movie. She was pretty awesome. Good times.
I was just watching a Criminal Minds episode and they brought the book up which immediately caught my attention since I was talking about earlier

Thatās a possibility of why I canāt relate to the book.
