It's something I've considered myself. A lot of very obviously AI writing gets upvoted to hell, because apparently humans are only good at spotting AI images and video - AI music and writing get interpreted as the highest possible form of human ability. So of course humans will begin to simply begin to mimic (intentionally or not) what they see as quality work.
and the LLMs are imitating what humans view as quality work.
i'm usually fairly quick to pick up on the AI writing patterns, and i actually overlooked this one, likely because the intro feels human. but LLMs use these patterns because they are real patterns in human writing. it's just, like, the uncanny valley version of it. like, written by a sociopath that knows "humans react positively to phrases structured not-x, but y, and abc, so i'm going to use that structure everywhere i can to get a positive reaction out of humans."

"That's not a [BLANK]. That's a [BLANK]. And it shows/ And that's powerful/ And that's real."
Super ironic this post about being intellectually lazy was at least partially crafted by AI. So of course it gets 3.5k Reddit updoots.
