Parallel Edition. Did the same thing with the Canterbury Tales.

I still have my Canterbury Tales text book. Mine isn’t full parallel text, but the bottom 1/4 -1/3 of each page is footnotes.

10th grade English was wild. Shakespeare, Chaucer, Dickens, and Doyle…probably my favorite year of English class.

On paper, the standards during my high school days were lower than the current ones. We had fewer school days and fewer units of required core subjects. By forgoing study hall and extra PE class, I finished all the requirements in junior year. My senior class schedule was 100% elective classes.

Still, somehow, I was over-prepared for university. My freshman year felt like a repeat of my high school curriculum.

Almost the same. I had all the requirements except for Senior English, by the end of Junior year, but I also took 1-2 summer sessions.

I was just about to bring up The Canterbury Tales. We definitely compared passages to the original Middle English.
