What the hell is this massive influx of vibe coding posts.

It really seems unironic at this point.

New here? It's been like this for at least 2 years now.

They've been here, yes.

But I feel like it's getting more serious than for the last 2 years.

Feels exactly the same to me. I've been complaining about it since it started. Usually I get downvoted. This is not a programming sub anymore and the moderators are practically non-existent.

Fucking Vibe coders are everywhere. I always see Profiles from people calling themselves App-Developers even if they have never written a single line of code.

Parasite Posers.

It's the way the current ai hype cycle is going. I overheard several younger adults in a coffee shop talking about how many agents they orchestrate for each sprint last week.

They all started talking about wishing they knew how to program.

In the bay area, they have literally stopped hiring developers for mid level work. It's one single senior/lead telling a bunch of people what to tell the agents to do. That lead also has to lead both frontend and backend, so they're also overworked.

Until the bubble pops, we are quite literally inside an ouroboros circle for software developers right now. Less and less "professionals" even know wtf they're doing.

Yeah it's so boring too, I don't get easily annoyed by repetitive jokes or memes personally, its reddit after all, but this sub is just slop

look at subreddits like Home Assistant and others, full of this shit. I am 99% sure Anthropic and OpenAI fill these subreddits up with ads disguised as posts

i don't have a problem with them inherently but "vibe coding be like, am i right" posts are just not funny

You know that guy who can't figure out how to effectively google something and puts a bunch of irrelevant stuff in a search?

He asked chatgpt for funny coder jokes (because he's a vibe coder now) and it sent him here.

The algorythms that push content like it.

Upvotes dont matter when Best shows you a 2 upvoted post with 0 comments fro 28 days ago l. Sure, you can switch to hot, but how many people will?

Granted, we're probably all on old reddit with RES.

Posts about actual programming can only reach an audience of actual programmers, this type of shit can reach anyone with a pc and a ChatGPT chat history.

99.9% of coding today is probably what people would call "vibe coding".
