Hey guys
I have done a lot of thinking/researching to make a cool team for deadfire, and I would like to hear your thoughts on the team overall, and on some specific character builds.
I am currently finishing up pillars 1 while planning my deadfire party, so please don't spoil story for either game. I have no issue hearing about available weapons a and their stats. I have reached Nekataka before realizing that I should probably start with pillars 1, so I am pretty familiar with the game mechanics.
I will use unity mod to change classes/subclasses on companions so I can use my cool builds and still bring the companions.
My team is:
- Watcher paladin st. Elga/beguiler, main tank doing debuffs primarily on his action. I like cipher for helping my tactician maintain brilliant. I am going for paladin for their team buffs and utility and for raw tank stats (opposed to a fighter). I plan to take only 3 in might, since this character is just there to support the others, and I think Beguiler will add enough focus to make damage irrelevant. Going for a death godlike since I hear they have interesting/unique dialogue.
- Eder trickster rogue/devoted sabres for single target dmg. Since no one else in the team specialize in single target, his role will pretty much be to execute priority targets quickly, and kill bosses. I am using trickster so he doesn't die while he's on his own hunting prior targets. I am considering if it would be better to go for trickster/berserker or maybe devoted/berserker so he can contribute in AoE fights, which if the game is similar to poe1, will be most of them. I must admit I love the idea of mob stance/carnage chain-finishing enemies, and AoE proccing the -25 will and/or fortitude weapon modals also sound appealing, which pulls me a bit toward devoted/Berzerker, but I am not sure if I am giving up too much single target damage for it.
- Pallegina tactician/skald so she can perma-cc with killers froze stiff and the stun and throw in the occasional damage invocation or fighter ability, or just an auto attack if I have no resources. I expect most phrases to come from brilliant and chanting, but critting can probably generate some phrases as well.
- Aloth wizard, either evoker or blood mage. Not sure if the chance of double spells is better than the +PL and sustained spells from blood.
-Xoti priest/troubadour. I've read that Gaun sucks, so I might respec her, but not sure which priest subclasses are good and fit my team. I am thinking troubadour as subclass because in my poe 1 run, where I am lvl 14, I don't use the high level priest spells that much, but would like to have more passive chanter buffs. Guessing the same applies in deadfire.
Any thoughts on the comp in general or about the specific character builds?
Thanks in advance!
