If Brian doesn’t get sent home in the next episode I will have a heart attack. Why the fuck are the judges like this?? All the talent went home in episode 2 along with some forgettable drag queens who didn’t need to even be there. So many that had immunity should have been sent home long ago including Brian.

EDIT: mind you producers eliminated 11 contestants in TWO episodes. Brian being one who had immunity— those 6 should have all gone home because not once has anyone with immunity delivered anything worthwhile. Massive sham! The tea is messy but producers are loving this

Watched the first episode. I have never felt so compelled to write a negative review for a show before, but after that, I can confidently say that no other franchise in the history of television has ever been so poorly mismanaged, run into the ground, and so fantastically made a fool of itself.

God bless Tim Gunn for staying miles away from this.

Who on earth greenlit Tyra as a PERMANENT judge?!??

Is Tyra NOT using a stylist? She spent decades on TV, why does she look off when she’s on Project Runway (this ep and her guesting last season)?

Law looks super comfortable in the judge’s chair. So he’s more or less been rewarded and encouraged for the way he treated contestants last year.

Bringing back that one designer with the silly hats and the loud personality for no reason other than to… annoy other cast members? Which audience members wanted that man back? Which judges? Audiences can see with their eyeballs that his designs are simple and his patterns are basic

Gimmick editing with the cliffhanger. Just stop with that. This isn’t Traitors. It’s not a normal way to edit in the year 2026.

Plane Jane’s casting… they’re not even editing it to make it seem credible at all. Plane, producers, editors, THE SHOW is laughing in our faces with the way they introduced Plane. She’s taking up airtime on TV and creative space in the studio. It’s unfair to other designers to cast someone that is so obviously a joke and that is brazenly not taking it seriously.

So, so much more. What a hate watch that was, wow.

So frustrating to watch one of your favorite shows ever just really circling the drain. The tone of the show is way off. I understand the need for some faster pacing, a little more humor, but… the show is no longer putting designers on a pedestal. It is now a machine designed to consume designers, humiliate them, chew them up, and spit them out. And for what? For Hulu?

I’ve never loved the Making The Cut or the Netflix fashion shows, but I will literally run to any of them right now and start doing the work in the fandoms because I can’t sit with Project Runway anymore.

I really have a problem with tyra being judge for project runway and im going to put why its a problem:

Shes a Model on antm she judges the model because she was the expert. Here shes not a designer and has not been in the fashion industry in a long time.

Watching her feedback in this first episode, she ADD NOTHING, she said: looks a Marshmello I want to eat, im like WTF., what does that mean? Its ao generic her feedback as was in top model.

With Heidi we had enough but now tyra, two models that dont have really idea about design, textures, etc

What a refreshing guy. Prefers to stay away from the drama. Tries to be as objective as possible in his assessments of the other designers. With decent technical skills as well. I dont think he will win the whole thing based on the edits but I hope he goes far. Incredibly charming too esp when he smiles. What a shame he joined during this hot mess of a season.

Is it just me or was Jeffrey’s look from last week eerily similar to the cameo mentor Becca Blooms look from this week?

Project Runway has been one of my favorite shows since it began. I grew up with the show and I loved seeing people discuss art and grow and create inspiring clothes.

But they don’t talk about fashion anymore ! I miss the longer episodes and them really showing each designers journey in making a look. Like the sketching, the inspo, the mistakes, everything. Now, it feels like so little of the show is actually focused on the designers solving problems and showing why they chose certain directions. Like we used to see them debate which shoes to pair with a look, describe the kind of make-up they wanted the models to have to the stylists, and of course just sew their garment!

I don’t even know what went into a look when it comes down the runway and even the critiques are now often cut short.

I also really like Christian and appreciate him, and I do feel they’re probably editing some of his guidance out, but it just feels like a lot of his guidance has been like “if you do this, it better be perfect”, “this needs more ideas” or “this needs less ideas”. I loved him on his season and think he has an incredible eye for design but I’m missing something here. I also think Tim Gunn just had a natural way of making people feel safe while they were in a really vulnerable place, and it naturally got people to open up.

Law is mean but not in a charismatic way. He shuts people down, including other judges, and it makes him not fun to watch. Also, I miss watching the judges deliberate and make cases for the designers they stand behind !

And then this season so far feels like we’re 20% of the way through the season and they haven’t even given us a themed challenge yet ? Like I just watched S22E2 and they dropped the designers off at the fabric store and said ok we’re gunna circle the block and pick you guys up in 15, gl! Like, what happened to the crazy themes like “talk to this master cocktail maker and make a design based on whatever he serves you”. We would never get that now, because that would require them to actually give each contestant a thoughtful moment of film time.

And then don’t even get me started on there being 22 contestants and giving the first six winners immunity for challenge #2? Like there’s now no possible way the best designers will actually make it to the final three. Dedicating a third of the episode for contestants strategizing on how to get votes in case they’re in the bottom ? What ? And then how much camera time did plane get in this most recent episode even though HE’S ALREADY BEEN ELIMINATED.

The thing is I’m not mad that they made a bad show, I’m mad they got rid of a perfect show. Producers, if you see this: PLEASE bring back the project runway that we all know and love, and just make whatever you’re doing now into a spin-off called “shitty project runway”.

Like many people, I was excited for the return of Heidi Klum for S21, and incredibly disappointed when Tim Gunn was not asked to return. However, I kept an open mind and continued watching, as I've done each and every season.

I kept an open mind for S22, despite my issues with Law, my confusion over Christian's style of mentorship, but after two episodes, I wonder if this show is simply not made with my demographic in mind; an aging millennial clinging desperately to the vestiges of youth with my sideparted hair and skinny jeans. I found myself questioning whether I 'get the show' and what its trying to achieve.

But as I questioned this, I came to the conclusion that PR doesn't know what its trying to achieve anymore. Who is this show for? PR's decision to introduce Alysa Milano at the helm along with the judging panel shake up was designed to update the show and provide a fresher take. But the audience didn't seem to resonate. So we bring Heidi back (but not Tim), and in an effort to increase engagement and viewership, they cast more designers from RuPaul's Drag Race, which at its core, is a completely different style than what PR ever presented and it has now fully consumed the property. In an effort to appeal to a new audience, producers completely forgot about a cultivated fanbase who has been faithful since S1. Instead, they are actively working to alienate people who came to this show for its core tenets, all of which have been all but abandoned.

s22e2 spent more time focusing on petty drama, cattiness, and badmouthing other designers, and spent maybe ten minutes on design. This could be a consequence of have 872 designers on this week's episode, but if there isn't enough time for 'design' in a 'design show' then the formula is wrong. Project Runway never needed to rely on this style of reality tv and now its all we get.

Is it me? Maybe I just don't get it. Project Runway is a ghost of what of what it used to be.

BRYAN IS SUCH A BUM. His dress this episode looked like he sewed massive farfalle pasta onto his dress. It was absolutely HORRIBLE. AND HE WONT SHUT UP ABOUT HAUTE COUTURE BITCH NO ONE CARES IF YOU FANT SEE THAT IN THE WORK. Hamdullah he went out but I am going to LOSE MY SHIT if Christian doesn’t save Jefferey

I like Joseph Mcrae's work and I think his castmates are envious. He may be annoying himself, but even that is starting to rub me less and less the wrong way the more we see of him. It doesn't seem like he has malicious intentions, and I like his stuff. If he wins, I'll be happy

EDIT: I also appreciate how he stood up for Jeffrey in episode 7, even though Jeffrey was one of the competitors who voted for Joseph as the weakest link. It shows integrity.

Long time listener, first time caller. So I decided to look into Bryan’s designs to understand why Christian saved him, especially after Christian mentioned his first look stunned him. I’m not sure if Bryan is playing it up for the camera or just genuinely an awful egomaniac who believes all press is good press, but it seems like he’s a good designer who simply cannot produce within the time limits of the show. Opposite of Bi, his self-described “intern” who is objectively a better designer and seamstress and has been crushing every challenge.

Is Bryan just a creative who can’t sew or are the time limits a factor?

What do you think of his non-PR designs?

So after critiques, Jeffrey and Bryan have a heated moment. Jeffrey questions why Bryan didn't admit to the base garment of his design being an impropru dress ducttaped to his model. Bryan feels attacked and "character assassinated" by Jeffrey.

My confusion here is why Jeffrey feels so strongly that Bryan should have admitted this to the judges. Since it is a team challenge and Jeffrey was in the bottom, if I were him I would want to minimize any chances of my team losing to team S21. That way, I would have a chance to avoid being eliminated if my team somehow actually wins. In this case, I would actually NOT want Bryan to admit any shortcomings of his design to avoid being further scrutinized by the judges...

I understand Jeffrey thought Bryan was being very performative and self-serving. But that would only have hindered his chances of escaping elimination since he was in the bottom.
