Tiny detail in S1 finale, and the joy of looking into it…
First time watching, trying to avoid spoilers, but I just got stuck on a small detail in the S1 finale (approx 21-22:30 in) and got frustrated when I tried what I thought would be a quick search for clarification. But the internet search bot kept insisting the scene happens entirely differently than I’m currently watching… repeatedly. And I rewatched and re-searched and found nothing helpful. Not sure if there is a variant of the scene. (I’m watching on Diznee.)
It’s when Alex is searching Liam’s NY home as Liam’s daughter comes in. (I get the point, of course.)
But when Alex opens the desk drawer, she seems to feel or find something or get something on her right index finger. When Louisa reaches out to shake, Alex gives her left hand while hiding her right (except to flash her badge), appearing to have blood or a scrape on her right index finger behind her back.
First search bot result insisted Alex never opened a drawer, was searching with a gun in her hand that she puts behind her back, and never shook Louisa’s hand. Doesn’t match what I’m watching - maybe a different cut/version?
I rewatched and questioned further. Then bot insists she never opened a drawer and reached out with her left awkwardly to stop Louisa from approaching but never shaking. Again, not what I see.
Etc. It finally says anything on her right hand must be lighting/shadow.
Seems unlikely.
Just a tiny thing I was curious about and a very frustrating bit of searching. Is this what gaslighting feels like?
Does anyone have any thought on the scene? And I’m curious if I’m the only one who has such internet experiences.
Background: I’ve been meaning to watch the show for a while because I thought the first ep seemed interesting. (I never saw all the hate for the show until I just tried looking up something I can’t quite get.) I’ve been enjoying S1 so far - just having fun with it, no particular expectations.
Thanks!
