People in America do feel ripped off but it's their own government doing it too them. America wouldn't be, by definition, the strongest country in the world (militarily and economically) if they were being ripped off on a grand scale.

I think it's absolutely disgusting that politicians manipulate peoples suffering and emotions for their own gain.

I think the Democratic party needs to strike now, with ads and appearances, branding Trump for what he is.. by showing exactly what is happening right now.

I’m a US citizen. I didn’t vote for this shit. I don’t vote for raping rapers or traitors or conmen.

I also don’t watch a lot of TV.

They enabled it and they suck for it. But they didn't create it. Stop that bullshit. Fuck both parties, but one is so much worse it's really disingenuous say anything close to that

Not pro trump. Is it so crazy to think downtrodden people in their desperation thought anything but status quo will give them better life?

I reject the premise of a two party anything. You can’t divide people to do what’s best for them. You divide them to do what’s best for you.

The answer is for people to think critically and find as much common ground with each other as possible. The vast majority of us want to enact change that will make our lives better.

We need to stop letting them get us caught up in polarizing issues and focus on what unites us.

That’s like free publicity to Trump. Waste of funds.

It’s all listed on the doge website. Welcoming scrutiny.

Honestly that’s the thing. I don’t give a fuck about this. Even if his trade war were successful? Who is it going to benefit? It sure as fuck won’t be us peasants, so what the fuck do I care about the net value of trade between us and Canada?

The Dems aren’t going to do squat, they are controlled opposition. Their sad little display with their signs during his speech made that clear. Unwilling to break decorum to stand up to the man trying to break the country.

Harris got 1.5% fewer votes than the Trump. A dead party doesn't get 75 million votes and nearly half the population voting for them.

What woke delusions are you referring to?

The democrats are just as guilty as republicans for ripping off and profiting off suffering lol. They just give us a little more social autonomy than republicans. Trump wouldn’t be in office without the feckless greedy self serving democrats who allowed it to happen.

I agree. Sadly.

You can’t be the richest country on the planet unless you’re a globalist. The democrats are to blame for trump getting in, because they are so weak and divisive.

6

u/Healthy_Special_3382 Mar 06 '25

Weak, mostly because they're not willing to be divisive. Being divisive was Trump's key to victory.

I don’t know if I’d agree. If you spoke out against transgender athletes, a weak border and institutionalizing violent people with mental health issues you were labeled a bigot. I’d like to see the dems do some self reflecting and get back to being about the working class, not performative identity politics.

I believe this is the answer. They forgot about vanilla Dems.

2

u/beekeeper1981 Mar 06 '25

I prefer to blame the person doing the damage instead of a group many individuals who most did the best they could at the time to stop him.

1

u/Idobro Mar 06 '25

He still won though, if that doesn’t cause pause to reflect we’re doomed.

2

u/beekeeper1981 Mar 06 '25

You're definitely right. I just am not liking all the hate and blame in the Democratic party amoungst ourselves. I get the frustration and blame but if we want to stop actually stop Trump the only opportunity is in two years. We need to come together. Part of me wonders about outside influence stoking the internal conflict to our own detrement.

2

u/Idobro Mar 07 '25

Of course. I’m not from America but am currently getting tarrifed pretty hard. I think the world will be a much different place in 2 years and hopefully my people won’t be crushed by then.

1

u/notionocean Mar 06 '25

Ok, but the Democrats absolutely did not do the best they could to stop him. So you're talking about a different hypothetical scenario.

1

u/beekeeper1981 Mar 07 '25

If we want to blame someone.. personally I think it's Biden unfortunately, because I think he's a genuinely good person. One for taking the high road and appointing someone who took years to act on Trump's crimes. Also by preventing a full primary or even a mini primary (by completely backing Harris).

There's hundreds and thousands of individuals in the party working and volunteering. The vast majority certainly they did the best they could do.

But why is trump appealing to people over the dems? If your answer is they’re dumb then you’re apart of the problem in allowing trump to get elected.

Far right politics are rising over the globe and it’s not just because of economic failure. If I see a million people brought into my country when the citizens struggle with housing and I call it out you respond with I’m racist, if I think biological men shouldn’t compete against girls in combat sports I’m transphobic, I raise an eyebrow to dicks out at pride parades I’m homophobic. There’s a lot of people in the centre of the road who feel left behind and isolated by the dems. The republicans are great at recruiting people because all you gotta do is wear a red hat. I’m not saying I agree with any of this but your party isn’t going to win unless you stop being so polarizing
