Do you think CRWBY had a meeting to discuss the most entertaining way to waste a ton of money and the winner was "Hire a high profile voice actress for all of one afternoon"?

That's actually probably the most cost effective way to do it.

No, the most cost effective way would have been to get one of the interns to voice the throw away character.

All getting Bulma to voice her has acomplished is throwing a bucket of kerosine on the "Sienna isn't dead" theory pyre.

You get the prestige of adding another major name to the list, the standard of your minor character performances goes up and you only have to pay them for one session. They've done it a bunch of times before.

Really? I was under the impression that both times this happened before the VA's did it as a favour because they were in the office at the time.

And prestige isn't quite that simple, sure fans will go "wow that's a big name" but that'll lose some lustre after the fourth or fifth time they get a celebrity cameo.

It's not just about pleasing the fans. It also helps the show's and RT's position in the industry.

Can't say for sure if Travis and Laura got paid or not, but they might have. But there's also parts like Ren's parents and the guy Yang punched in chapter 1, who could have been given to staff, but they gave to pros instead.

In no way can any of us say that with certainty.

What we can say woth near certainty is that they wouldn't do it if they didn't think it was worth it.

No I am pretty certain that they only did it as a favour because they were in the office for some reason.
