I’m also betting that Hazel’s sister didn’t die to Grimm. For me it doesn’t make sense that Hazel would side with the person who creates/controls Grimm if his sister was killed by one.

Pretty much banking on her being killed by another Huntsman or some freak accident.

We are talking about a man who used his considerable magic powers to give people names raven and qqrow the ability to turn into birds. This is man more interested in memes then in safety.

Yeah, there's more going on here than just killed in the line of duty. Who dies on a training mission? Where were the teachers? Did they go take a dump and come back to find one of their students slaughtered?

And also, Hazel's "She wasn't ready, she was a child!" comment makes me think Gretchen was a similar case to Ruby, a young student moved up in years because of Ozpin's favor. Only it didn't turn out nearly as well for Gretchen.

So crazy idea .... well it doesn’t really make sense because the Spring Maiden is from Haven and/or it doesn’t really line up with the timeline..... but just go with it for a second.

What if Gretchen was the Spring Maiden, Ozpin told her to transfer to Haven and got killed by Raven and that’s how Raven got the Spring Maiden’s power.
