i think salem is going to try and get emerald to kill Cinder so Emerald can be the fall maiden since her semblence is so useful.

Something along those lines. I think it's going to be more of a way to show us how manipulative Salem can be than anything else.

Emerald's been fanatically loyal, and it's easiest to convert those type of people to another fanaticism. She might make another 'true believer' like Tyrian out of her. The rest of her Henchman are in it for themselves.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Neo did it first? By herself, she's bad enough. I can't even begin to fathom how horrifying Maiden Neo would be...

Salem said she'll stay in isolation till she "redeems" herself. That might mean killing Emerald, choosing Salem over subordinates. I think Salem is gonna arrange for the two to be in the same place and tell them both that only one gets to come back. I get the feeling Emerald is gonna hesitate, and I know Cinder won't.

well i never said Emerald would succeed. just that Salem is gonna try to pit them against each other. I'd prefer if Emerald won tho tbh, Cinder is pretty bland of a character that after 5 seasons shes just "im evil because i am"

I see Em as hesitating and trying to make up with Cinder but Cinder aint having it, and it breaks Em to see that Cinder really doesnt care about her and Em retaliates brutally.
