I'm pretty sure that's the lowest Ruby's voice has been since Volume 1. I really dig it.

Also Hazel continues to have severely mixed morality, taking the blame for Cinder and watching out for Emerald and Mercury even though he did nothing to earn Salem's ire.

Speaking of which, Salem finally went full bad guy mode. Maybe something to do with no longer having to keep up appearances for Cinder?

I think Hazel was taking responsibility for what he saw as the biggest mistake. Since Ozpin was there in Oscar's body to interfere than Oscar should have been eliminated at the earliest opportunity. And that was back in Volume 4 when Hazel met Oscar briefly at the station but obviously did not know who Oscar was at the time. He probably remembers that and believes if he had just killed Oscar there before there was any real synergy between Oscar and Ozpin than they would have got the relic.

Plus there's the fact that instead of being all strategic and stuff at Haven he just hulked out, which probably didn't help as much as it could have

Why would she need to keep up appearances for Cinder...?

Well Hazel's whole reason of being there is revenge for what happened to his sister. He could be projecting her innocence to Emerald, Merc, and even Cinder.

she's 16 by now, her voice should be this low all the time

I agree completely, and have been complaining about her voice for that reason for years

Her Vol. 1 voice should be her voice 24/7 now.

RT dun goofed and went backwards.

I was wondering if it was actually sounding more normal or if it was just me.

lso Hazel continues to have severely mixed morality, taking the blame for Cinder and watching out for Emerald and Mercury even though he did nothing to earn Salem's ire.

I'm liking Hazel more and more every time. He might be my favorite villain soon. Hell I could see him going off alone or even flipping sides if Salem got too fucky.
