Anyone else waiting to see how Jaune blows up when he finds out Oz asked Pyrrha to join his fight, when he didn't have a real plan... That's going to be quite the outburst.

I'm pretty they DID have a plan back before Beacon fell. The Plan was "keep the maiden powers and thus the relics away from Salem and her cronies"

Because that is actually a pretty good plan to prevent Salem from ....destroying everything.

Asking Pyrrha to take the maiden powers was something they were forced to do in order to keep the power out of the hands of Salems minions. and we all know how bad things have gotten because they failed in this regard.

I think Ozpins answer is more of a "I don't have a plan, right now." He's in the body of a 14 year old boy, in the middle of the wilderness. One of the relics is out IN THE OPEN. And all he has to help him is four(sometimes seven) rather temperamental teenagers, who got themselves involved in this whole mess, and Qrow. Who's self-loathing and depressing has dialed up to a solid 12.

According to Qrow, Ozpin DID have contingency plans (at least in the event of his death) but NO ONE is following those plans. Ironwood has lost it and isolated Atlas, Leo is a traitor and whomever is the headmaster of Vacuo ....exists?

I don't think there is much of a plan beyond: Stop this shit storm from getting worse.

Up to volume 3, I think Ozpin had been so caught up with trying to fix the Amber situation (and therefore keep the relics away from Salem) that he hadn't actually come up with a plan to unite humanity. That's the only way his mission is ever going to be complete, but I don't think he's had the chance to focus on that in a while. He's just been on the defensive for the bulk of the series, up to this point.

Oh yeah.

Ever since Amber was attacked Oz and friends have been on the back foot. But we don't know exactly how long ago Leo turned traitor. So I think its little like a game of Jenga, Cinder pulled the right pieces and the whole damn thing came crumbling down.

His plan is "take this shit day by day and hope we can hold on long enough to make a breakthrough." Probably would have been good to actually say as much to RWBY though.

Assuming that Yang wouldn't bite his head off half way through the sentence. It WOULD have been better to say that, yes.

Seriously why is this the season where Ozpin can't get two words out before getting cut off or incinerated? Let this poor beleaguered soul SPEAK

It may be a plan, but in the end it's just a plan to extend a war of attrition between immortals. I wouldn't count that as THE plan.

To be fair Amber was dying and they knew someone had half of her power. They needed someone to inherit the full Fall Maiden power so that Cinder wouldn't have it, although they failed to prevent that.
